As we find ourselves in the blessed month of Ramadan, a time of spiritual reflection, increased worship, and community, it is essential to discuss a crit...ical aspect of our faith: Tawbah, or repentance. Today, I want to address the question: "Does Tawbah validate your Ramadan?" Bism Allah, Rahman, andrahme, al-hemdo-lilah,
Godalam, and al-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-aaaaaaaaa.
Asaaaaaaa and sisters, I pray that everyone is doing well
and ask Allah, and Allah to be us for our sins of a shirk coming to the
grants and special mercy, not only in this life, mainly the next.
Hamdil-Lah, we are approaching the next night for us in our prayers,
and we are actually, I believe, on the 25th, or the 25th night, in-ja-a-a-24th day,
25th night. So, inshallah, make sure you are increasing in your
abada, specifically on these nights, and specifically on every night, as
you might be laid to Qatar on any of these nights. And we ask Allah,
and so on my Father de grace to the ability to witness it, to accept our fast and
our efforts from us today, and to accept our Ramadan from us in total.
This is something that I actually want to speak about today, about
validation of your Ramadan, and that is does your toba, does your repentance
validate your Ramadan? So I want to go into this in an interesting way,
but I want to make this as short as possible
because I do know that we're on a limited time here
we don't have 20 minutes to be talking about toba
inshallah, that would be tonight,
later tonight shall I say.
But the first thing I want to mention is an ayah from the Quran
in which Allah, Sufanao said,
Allah saitha, Allah saithuhae.
Kulia, al-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-horeem.
He says, all my servants who have wronged your own souls
by your own actions.
Do not despair of the mercy of Allah,
Indeed, Allah saffana-ho-Jara forgives all sins.
Indeed, it is he who is the forgiving, the merciful.
So here I want to start off by going here to this point of what is Tova?
Well, if you actually look at it,
Tobuah is a profound act of returning to Allah suhfana-Huadda after committing sins.
It's not just a verbal expression, right?
It's not something you just say with your mouth.
It's not something that you do verbally, right?
But actually, it's two parts.
It's intention and its sincerity.
And is a means of purifying our hearts.
our souls allowing us to reconnect back to Allah suprana and Hohu'u'u'u'u'a and his
infinite mercy invites us to turn back to him regardless of you know our sins and what we may do
so during this month of Ramadan we should be trying to seek tovah and actually this verse
reassures us that no matter how far we have strayed allah's door of mercy and forgiveness
is always open so when you think about the month of Ramadan I want you to imagine that the
deeds are multiplied
and the bad deeds are also multiplied
but the gates of the
hellfire are closed and the gates of Jinnah are open
so I want you to think about this
when the Prophet Allah a dayu'll say in authentic
Hadith whoever fast fast
the matto Ramadan out of faith
and seeking reward from Allah supranahua
who have his past sins forgiven
so I want to kind of pair this
to when you think about the question
does toba validate your Ramadan
well toba as a means of purification
is very important and engaging in Tobah
during this mother Ramadan, sir,
to purify our hearts and our intentions and our soul.
And it allows us to cleanse ourselves of our past mistakes and our sins,
making our fasts, our prayers, more meaningful, and even our duress and everything else
more meaningful.
So when we repent, you know, when we repent sincerely, we approach our acts of
Ibadah with a renewed spirit, enhancing, you know, the validity, the validity.
I can't say this word, of Ramadan.
And so if you want to ask the question of does it validate our Ramadan?
we can go into that.
And I do want to go into that.
I want to keep this one short.
I know yesterday was only six minutes,
inshallah, I'll keep this one probably about seven
to make sure we still have, you know,
ultimate time after this.
But one of the things I want to speak about here as well
when it comes to this is that the hadith I mentioned before this
emphasizes the significance of having sincere intention
only to worship Allah, right?
And to seek, you know,
seek the mercy of Allah,
Sufana and Heweta.
And when it comes to a path to acceptance of our fast,
The Prophet of Allah al-a-a-u-a-u-saddam taught us that Allah looks at our hearts and our intentions.
So if we sincerely repent and strive to improve ourselves, it is a sign of our Ramadan being validated.
Right. It is being validated. It's verified that our Ramadan is complete.
So we should be looking at our actions.
You know, we should be looking at our intentions, not our actions.
I set that one backwards.
You want to be looking at your intentions and your sincerity within those intentions that you have.
And also trying to ensure that your fasting is not merely just,
an act, right? It's not just maybe an act, but it's actually a spiritual journey, which is why you find
sometimes people will fast out of the whole month of Ramadan and on the day of Eve or maybe even
at night, the night times of every single month of Ramadan is actually a time in which they
decide to have a fest and they want to eat and they want to eat and eat. But the point of fasting
isn't actually supposed to be physical. It's not supposed to deprive us of our needs so that we can
refill ourselves afterwards. The point is to deprive us of our spiritual so we understand what is
like for those who don't have. It's supposed to enhance our spiritual so that we know that we are
doing this for the sake of Allah. We actually are completing an obligation for the sake of Allah,
and as well as it helps strengthen our relationship with Allah. So during this month of Ramadan,
it's an opportunity for us to strengthen our relationship with Allah. So when it comes to our
tabooba, we acknowledge our shortcomings and we express our desire to improve. So that humility
and that recognize the recognition of our need for Allah's mercy validates our Ramadan
experience and the more we turn back to Allah and repentance sincere repentance the closer we
become to him and the more our acts of Ibadah are accepted and then the final thing I want to
mention here is the signs of this accepted toba and one of those things is if you're reflecting
on the validation of that Ramadan or the validation of your toba the first is an increased
inclination towards good deeds and acts of Ibadah the second is a sense of peace and
tranquility in your heart the third is
a genuine desire to distance yourself
from your past sins and improve your character
and fourth is a commitment
to maintain the spiritual momentum
during the gain during
the month of Ramadan even after the month ends
right so this is why
my brothers and sisters towa actually plays a very
crucial role and if I had to answer this
toba actually does have a means of validating
Ramadan and this is exactly why
Allah Sufana Huata says it meant
like I mentioned in the ayah that we have wronged
ourselves we have made our mistakes but Allah
will forgive us and he'll still have mercy upon us
So when you come to this month of Ramadan,
Tova purifies our hearts.
It strengthens our relationship with Allah.
It inherits our sincerity and our fasting and our bada, our psalm, and our Ivada.
And as we continue throughout the blessed month of Ramadan and the last time we must embrace the opportunity to seek that toba,
to seek the forgiveness of Allah, and turn back to Allah with sincere hearts.
We ask Allah, Suhpana, to allow for our to be accepted, for our Ramadan to be validating.
and accepted and we ask Allah, we ask Allah,
to allow for us to emerge from this month of Ramadan
and better individuals closer to him.
I mean, and where Iql, Iwan, al-hambhalililah,
al-hahmah, al-habilan.
Amean.
And, al-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a.
