Episode Date: October 22, 2025

As-salamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh. Today, I want to discuss a crucial aspect of our lives as Muslims: the importance of focusing on our Akhirah (the Hereafter) rather than becoming overly... absorbed in the Dunya (the worldly life). Starting point is 00:00:00 My dear brothers and sisters. Bismillah and Rahimdhahim, al-havulilah, Rabeilh, Rabeilh, Rabeilal, and Salatu, and al-Ara'a, and hishah, and sahbehi, and man, my dear brothers and sisters, today I want to discuss a crucial aspect of our lives as Muslims, and that is the importance of focusing on our a-Ahtra, the hereafter, rather than becoming overly absorbed in the dunya, the worldly life, life. You know, in a world filled with distractions and temptations, it is essential to remind
Starting point is 00:00:36 ourselves of our ultimate purpose and the nature of this life. You know, the Dunya is often described in the Quran as a temporary abode, a place where we are tested and given the opportunity to earn rewards for the hereafter. As Allah subhanna-hu-ta-a-ala says in the Quran, and what is the life of this world except the enjoyment of delusion. This is Sura 3, Iya 185. So this verse, and this ayah from the Quran, serves as a reminder that the pleasures and possessions of this world are fleeting and can distract us from our true purpose. You know, in true contrast, the aquehra is eternal. There is, there is no, it is kind of. It is kind of. It is. It is of on and off, but it is the ultimate destination where we will be held accountable for our
Starting point is 00:01:34 actions in this life. And Allah, Allah, subhannahādala reminds us in the Quran and the hereafter is better and more lasting. So this is Sura 87, Iya 17. So this ayah, what Allah is telling us, or he is emphasizing that the rewards of the hereafter far outweigh any temporary gains we may achieve in this world. You know, the dangers of being preoccupied are very clear to us. You know, so when we become overly focused on the dunya, we risk neglecting our spiritual obligations and responsibilities. The Prophet of Allah, Allah, He was said, warned us about the dangers of being consumed by worldly pursuits. He said, beware. There is a piece of flesh in the body. If it becomes good, reform the whole body becomes good. But if it becomes corrupt,
Starting point is 00:02:29 the whole body becomes corrupt. That part of flesh, that piece of flesh is the heart. So when our hearts are attached to the dunya, we may find our hearts. We may find our ourselves prioritizing material wealth, status, and fame over our relationship with Allah, Suhphanah, and what a Da'allah. This attachment can lead to a lack of contentment and a desire for more, which ultimately distracts us from our spiritual growth and connection with our creator. So while it is essential to focus on our ahehra, my dear brothers and sisters, we must also acknowledge that living in this world requires us to engage with it responsibly.
Starting point is 00:03:13 as Islam encourages us to seek a balance between our worldly responsibilities and our spiritual obligations. The Prophet of Allah Allah a He waslam has also said in an authentic hadith, He has said, work for your dunya as if you will live forever and work for your aheera, as if you will die tomorrow. So this hadith teaches us that while we strive for success in this, in this world, we must not lose sight of our ultimate goal, and that is pleasing Allah, and preparing for the hereafter. So we can engage in our daily lives,
Starting point is 00:03:56 working, studying, and caring for our families, while keeping our hearts focused on our A'Hara. These are some steps that, inshallah, I pray, will help us focus on our Aheera as well. The first one is remembering Allah, Suhpana-Hu'u'a-Talha regularly through our dikr. So making it a habit to engage in dikr throughout the day,
Starting point is 00:04:20 simple say phrases like subhanna-al-a-h-h-hambul-lila and Allahu-Aqabur can help keep our heart connected to Allah, subhanna-hua-a-a-a-la. Number two is establish a routine of performing your five daily prayers with sincerity and focus. After each prayer, take a moment to reflect on your actions and your intentions. You know, number three is to seek ilm. You know, I just had to talk not that long ago, a couple of days ago, talking about seeking ilm or seeking knowledge. So invest time in learning about your faith, understanding the teachings of Islam and Allah, and his messenger can strengthen your connection to Allah.
Starting point is 00:05:01 It can strengthen your connection and remind you of the importance of the Ahran. Number four is actively seek opportunities to promote. to perform good deeds, whether through charity, helping others, or spreading kindness. These acts not only benefit others, but also earn you rewards in the hereafter with the correct intention. And finally, inshallah, the fifth is limit your distractions. You know, identify the distractions in your life that pull you away from your spiritual goals. This may involve reducing time spent on social media. entertainment or other activities that do not contribute to any of your growth.
Starting point is 00:05:44 They're just wasteful activities. So my dear brothers and sisters, let us remind ourselves of the nature of the dunya and the eternal significance of the Acheira. As Muslims, we must strive to focus our hearts and minds on our ultimate purpose, and that is to worship Allah, Suhpara, and Hewadallah, prepare for the hereafter. and be humble and great servants or believing servants to Allah suprana-hu-ta-a-da-a-da. So may Allah-supana-a-a-a-garegant us the wisdom to prioritize our aquehra over the fleeting pleasures of this world. Let us work diligently to strengthen our faith, engage in good deeds, and maintain a balance between our worldly responsibilities and our spiritual obligations. I mean, Jazakul-a-hah-hairn for attending and listening to this talk.
Starting point is 00:06:34 I pray that Allah, Sophan, Hewatea, reward you. And, al-da-a-houndu to-lilah, Lordalameen. And asa-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a.
