my brothers and sisters a hathu'll bea rabbi and mean we did a talk on monday specifically
speaking about the day of judgment and being a light on the day of judgment in trying
your best to please allah suhparno at all in this world and do your best in this world so
that you can attain the pleasure of Allah supranahua ta a da a
in the hereafter and also to avoid any means of you know this connection from
Allah supranahua we also recited Sittu'll shi and we spoke about how beautiful
the surah is as it articulates the meaning of the day of judgment as it goes off
of both sides so it doesn't just go off of the disbelievers on the day of judgment
it goes off of the believers and the disbelievers so both these two contradict and they
both worked in hand in hand together. Now today I want to speak about giving
Allah supanahua'a'u'a your best and the question I addressed to all of us is
are you giving Allah subana hua'at of your best or are you giving Allah your
remains? Are you saying I am going to worship Allah with full devotion? I am
going to give sadaqa with full devotion. I am going to make doa with full
devotion. Are you giving Allah your remainders meaning are you just saying
oh I'm tired at the end of the night you know what forget it I'm not going to do
this? Oh man I don't really have the motivation to work
worship Allah, it's okay, I don't have to do it.
This is what I mean by, are you giving Allah, supanahua-ta-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-est.
And first, I want to mention the ayah from the Quran in which Allah-supon-a-ha-ha-a-a-a-a-a-sa says,
and I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship me.
So the first thing Allah-z-upon-h-hu-ta-ta-a-farns here is that we are meant to worship him.
He created us to worship him with a purpose.
And also, our worship is not just, is not limited just to
rituals. So I don't want us to think that our iBada is just a ritual. We do it every single day and then that's it.
Right? It's not a habitual thing. It's something that we do that should be a special connection to Allah supranahua and we should try to enhance it every single time.
The second thing I want to mention is your sala, which is something that's very profound.
And we've spoken about this before a lot. But when it comes to your sala, it's something very beautiful and something that has to be spoken about.
One of the most significant ways in which you can actually give Allah supranahua'u ta'a. Your best is through your
sala because like I said before your iba is not limited to a ritual and your sara is not
merely a ritual is a direct connection between you and allah supanahua yu yu sama and also the
prophet sallah ari wadiqa emphasize the importance of performing saraa with concentration
and humility the two had these i'm going to mention here the first one he said when one of you
is praying he should pray as if he is bidding farewell as if this is his last prayer
pray as if it's your last prayer you don't know if you're going to make it to see the next prayer
And then the second hadith is the closest that a servant comes to his Lord is when he is prostrating.
Many of us find that sojude is the favorite position.
And one of the reasons why is because we are closest to Allah, subhannahoiada.
We are in a direct conversation with Allah, and this is a means of gaining closeness to Allah subhannahu.
And also, this means when it comes to our sara, the first hadith I mentioned, when one of you prays, he should pray as if he is bidding for a will.
This means that we should approach our sara with humility.
with sincerity and with focus
and the understanding that we are standing
before Allah supranahua-Talha.
And every single sala that we get is another opportunity
from Allah to actually gain closeness to him.
So if we got a chance to pray, you know,
to be Shal-a-Fadha this morning
and we get a chance to pray Lahamda-ilah,
there we go.
You get a chance to pray Asar
and you continue on.
Every single prayer should be a means
of expressing your gratitude to Allah
for the fact that he granted you another day
and another opportunity to worship him
and to talk to him
and to seek better relations.
relationship with him. The third thing I want to mention as well before I, the second thing, actually,
so the second thing, before I go on said 13, third thing is ensuring that you are fully present
in your sara, right? When it comes to giving Allah your best, ensure you're fully present in
your sala. The Prophet's Allah al-hally-Salam would be fully present in his sala, even if there
were a whole bunch of things going on or people were talking or people were doing this or
doing that. He wouldn't focus on those things that they're doing. That he rather he would give
Allah his best and he would do, he would use his efforts to be directed towards pleasing
Allah supranahua'u'u'u'a and everything that he did.
Now the third thing I want to mention is sincerity, the importance of sincerity.
And when it comes to giving Allah supranahua ta'a'a our best, it must come from a place
of sincerity.
And Allah commands us to worship him with a pure heart because Allah only accept that which is
pure.
He doesn't accept that which is not pure and which that goes against what he has told us or
that which disobeys him.
So it has to be pure.
Your intention has to be pure, your sincerity has to be pure, and has to be only for the sake of Allah, supranahua.
And when it comes to your intention and it comes to having sincerity in those intentions,
the Prophet of Allah a.m. said that actions are judged by intentions, and every person will have that of what he has intended.
So this means that your efforts must be directed towards pleasing Allah supranahua'u'u'a alone, not for showing, but not for a show or gaining recognition from others.
Now, the fourth thing I want to mention is very important as well, and that is giving a law.
your best sadaqa, which we know sadaqa is charitable giving, right?
It's a very vital aspect of giving Allah, suhphanahua ta'a, our best.
And Allah reminds us of this and encourages us to actually give from what we love in the Quran
in which Allah saffanihua-a-weta says,
by no mean shall you retain al-bih, piety, or righteousness,
unless you spend of what you love, unless you spend of that wealth
that you so eagerly want and you see you so eagerly desire to have in your life.
And SADCA is not just the monetary contributions that you're making, but rather it also includes your time, your knowledge, and your kindness.
And the Prophet of Allah a.a'u-Salam said, the best of people are those most beneficial to others.
So the Prophet's Allah a.
A.m. is giving us the blueprint here that if you want to be beneficial, be beneficial to others as well.
Now, one of the other things I want to mention about SADCA is when you comes to giving SADCA, we not only help those who are, you know,
who need, who need, but we also purify our own wealth and strengthen our connection with
Allah, Sufana, and Hewatra. And we must make this a habit to engage in siddaka regularly,
especially on the day of Friday. It's a very blessed and beautiful day. Try to give as much money as you
can, and I ask Allah, Sufana hua'u'll accept it all from us. And this also brings back to the
point of sincerity. Ensure your intention is pure. Ensure your intention is sincerely only for
Allah, Sufanaoanao Tata. Don't be the person that walks up to the machine to go pay and you're
looking behind. Is anybody watching me? No.
only do it for Allah, Supanahua-Talha.
So ensure that no matter what you do,
keep that between you and Allah,
and we ask Allah-Supana-Hu-H-Tal
to accept it all from us.
And the other thing I want to mention
is, are you giving your best self?
Giving your best self to Allah,
subhpana-hu-ta-ta-a-da,
means striving to be the best version of yourself.
So that involves self-reflection,
which we've spoken about,
and personal growth.
And we have to ask ourselves a question,
are we embodying the good characteristics
of the Prophet of Allah-a-a-a-u-a-o-a-o-sle.
and the good qualities and characteristics that the Prophetess Allah and Sald
Islam exemplified throughout his life.
And he said, the most beloved to me, and the closest to me on the day of resurrection
will be those who have the best attitude towards others or who treated others great
or who treated others good.
So we should work on our manners.
We should work on our achlac.
We should work on our patience.
We should work on our compassion to others and our kindness to others.
And when it comes to self-improvement, it's a continuous.
journey. So don't think it's just going to be a one-time stop. Oh, I did it. All right, that's it. But rather, when it comes to self-improvement, you continuously improve every single day and every single moment that you have. It's essential for your spiritual development and closeness to Allah, Sufana-ho-ta-a-ta-a-ta-law. The other thing I want to mention is patience and perseverance. These two go together. I feel like we spoke about this in last Juma-Chukba, and we spoke about patience and how it goes together. But specifically, giving our best to Allah, Sufāsupana-Hu-Tal, often requires patience and perseverance.
And this life and this dunya is filled with challenges and test.
But Allah, Sufanao Tala reminds us in two specific ayah mentioned here.
The first one he says, so be patient, indeed the promise of Allah is truth.
And the promise of Allah is near.
And another ayah, Allah, says,
and astairehāis to be sabere and sala.
He says, seek help the patience and prayer.
So my brothers and sisters,
when you are facing these difficulties, you should not lose hope,
but instead you should turn to Allah in suburb.
asking for his guidance and support.
And remember the words of the promise of Allah-a-a-Hu-Slam.
Know that victory comes with patience,
relief, with distress, and ease with hardship.
Now another thing I want to mention here,
and this is among one of the last things I've mentioned here is our dua.
In the power of dua, because one of the most powerful ways
to give our best to Allah, Sufanao-ta-a-a-a-a-a-a-law is through sincere dua.
And Allah states this in the Quran, and what she said,
and your Lord said, invoke me, I will respond to your
invocation. So when we turn to Allah supanahua
Allah in prayer, we acknowledge our dependence upon him and our desire
for his help. So we must not be impatient in our duress
because for Allah supranahuata he knows what is best for us
and he knows what is best for the timing in which he grants us our requests.
Now the last thing I want to mention here for us all is giving back to the
Ummah, giving back to the community and giving back to those around us.
Now giving our best extends into the
this umma ultimately and the prophet so allah a de hu'sa samem emphasized the importance of helping others
and i mentioned this hadith earlier and that was the best of people are those who are most beneficial
to others so whether it is through charity whether it is through volunteering or whether it is simply
just being kind and loving to your brothers and sisters we should strive to make a positive
impact on those around us whether that is our family whether that's our loved ones whether that's
our friends or whether those in our community and ultimately this umma so we should strive to make a positive impact on
When we reflect upon our iman, it is also a means of pleasing Allah,
supanahua huta a and earning the pleasure of Allah supranahua ta aura.
So many brothers and sisters, the reminder I give us today is don't give Allah
Suhpana hua'u't say, hey, I'll worship more this night.
I'll do this, I'll do that.
It's the same as, you know, during Ramadan.
When it came to during Ramadan, you didn't say, okay, you know,
during the last 10 nights, I'm not going to do anything.
I'm just going to, it's okay.
I'll just give Allah a little bit of duah, a little bit of a little bit.
of this, that's all right, and you're not giving
a loss of Allah, Your best energy.
You're wearing yourself out, right?
Even during those periods of time. And even
now, remember my brothers and sisters,
I'm trying not to say my brothers and sisters as much
this time, but remember that even in this point
in time, when it comes to giving Allah your
best, remember, it comes
from what? It comes from doing good.
It comes from patience. It comes from sincerity.
It comes from salaf. It comes from understanding our duty to
Allah, Supperahua, it comes from our
it comes from trying to become a better person it comes from our dua and it comes from
trying to help those around us because the most beneficial of people are those who are beneficial
to others, men of brothers and sisters. We ask Allah, Sufana, Heru, Tala, to make us among, I know I said
again, we ask Allah to make us among those who are most beneficial to others and we ask
Allah saffana or who would a daughter to be gross far as sins of our shortcomings and grant us his
special mercy not only in this life and meaning the next and to allow for us to be among
those whom Allah suhpano-to-ta-la loves and to be among those who sacrifice and are willing to sacrifice
for Allah, and we ask Allah,
to grant us all gentle for those al-a'al-a-l'al-a-lā.
