Episode Date: December 19, 20251.1k Views | 2.8k Plays | 249 CommentsAs-salamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh, dear brothers and sisters in Islam. Today, I would like to speak about a vital aspect of our faith: the importance... of hastening to do good deeds. In our fast-paced lives, it is easy to become distracted and delay our acts of worship and kindness. However, the teachings of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and the Quran remind us of the urgency and significance of performing good deeds.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/sheikh-uthman-hadi--6689369/support.https://sheikhuthmanhadi.beam.lyhttps://open.spotify.com/user/315hadqmwxllibu6ubi5us2cbn2y?si=572b4d8898284e9ehttps://open.spotify.com/show/3MQHfrpjj3XXcqoPbN5Dl8?si=v6YQ42kpSx-VONBFhT3CzA

Bism
Allah,
Rihamah,
God,
Alamim,
and al-a-salam
and to
Allah,
and al-haw-lilah,
and al-hambh
Allah,
we can't
ushawful,
and we'll
be of them
and we can't
of our
our own of our
our own of our
our own of our
Allah,
and from the
Allah,
Allah,
one a shriekerah, and I shrewan Muhammad and Audev and Rasmu.
Aslamu, and al-a-a-a-mahmatelah, my brothers and sisters.
I pray that everyone is doing well and ask Allah to forgive our sin and our shortcomings to
give us a special mercy not only in this life but mainly in the next.
Mother Brothers and sisters, I pray that everyone has performed their acts of worship today
when it comes to Friday, and I pray that everyone will be rewarded for it.
As to what I want to reward us for it, I mean.
My brothers and sisters, today I want to speak about a very important aspect of our faith,
especially as Muslims, and that is hastening to do good, right?
And, you know, it's beautiful how the Prophet of Allah al-a-Hu-Salam has taught us to do good, right?
And there are two hadith I want to quote here.
the first one is a hadith in what the prophet
of Allah-a-u-Salam says
that the more that a person
does bad
even if it's small deeds
eventually it would accumulate
overtaking that person
and the second
hadith is that a person
who does good will be rewarded by good
and I want to bring this up here
as to start this Juma talk off
because it's very important for us to realize
that our good deeds
play a very important aspect of our lives. They play a very important role in our lives.
You know, and we've talked about pleasing Allah, Suhpana, Ha'adha. We've talked about
repenting before it's too late in many of my talks, right? And, you know, Safanallah,
my last talk I did last week, last Friday, which, you know, Shafahua, I'm a little busy
right now, so not doing as many talks I don't do, but last week I did my talk, talking about
pleasing Allah, Sufana, right? Over the people. And one of those things,
comes back to hasten to do good, right?
And this is why the promise of Allah-a-Hu-a-Hu-Hu-Saharan has told us,
surround yourself with company that it's good, right?
Why does he tell us that, though?
Why does it tell us to surround ourselves with company that's good?
You know, imagine you have a friend that is toxic, right?
And they're trying to lead you away from Allah, Sufana, how it'sada.
Do you think that they're going to help you gain closeness to him?
Do you think they're going to better your relationship with him?
Do you think they're going to be on you?
Like, hey, you need to pray yourself that.
Hey, we need to pray.
right hey like we need to get this deed done we need to do that you know stay away from these bad acts right
no they're going to drive you to that which is bad right and this is exactly why the prophet
al-a-a-a-a-u-a-hu-sat-hulam told us to surround ourselves with company that is pleasing to al-a-law
so company is going to help us gain closeness to allah so when we think of it in the case of
displeasing the people sometimes when it comes to hastening to do good we have to displease the people right
from how we do. It may be family, it may be loved ones, it may be friends, anybody, right?
But sometimes we're going to have to displease the people, or to please Allah, suhpahua'u, and this is something that's very important.
And in a beautiful hadith, the promise of Allah, Allah, Hew'Slam, warns us to hasten to good deeds.
As he says, hasten to good deeds before you are overtaken by one of the seven afflictions, you know.
And these afflictions include poverty, prosperity that leads us to corruption, disease, sudden death, you know, the emergence of Adjad and the day of judgment, right?
And one thing I would like for us to realize is that when it comes to our lives, every moment that we have should be a means of doing good.
we should not let one moment pass in our lives that we are not trying to please
Allah supranahuata that we are not trying to do good and it's very beautiful how we think
about the life of the prophets of Allah Allah al-a-u-Slam and how any and every moment of his life
was a good deed right any and everything that he was doing was a good deed you imagine as we
talked about in our relationship with Allah supranah al-u-tah is key when someone is walking when
someone is driving somewhere, you know, in our modern days, we don't have camels still
right around everywhere, but, you know, if someone is driving a car, right, what are you
doing throughout that time? What are you thinking about? What is it, right? Because in our
heads, sometimes it can be, I'm thinking about this new job promotion, I'm thinking about what I have
to do for school, I'm thinking about what I have to do for work today, thinking about this,
and thinking about that, right? Sometimes when we lose that closest to Allah, Suu'll be
we start focusing on other things.
Our priority shift.
Instead of us saying,
I am in the car right now,
I'm driving to this place,
I'm doing this thing,
I'm going to recycle.
Instead of doing that,
we say,
you know what,
I'm just going to listen to this radio.
I'm going to do this.
I'm going to do that.
I'm going to watch a YouTube video.
Maybe it's a tutorial
on how to do such and such a such thing.
Like your brothers and sisters,
throughout our lives, we must.
And I'm saying we must.
We must ensure that our good deeds
are the main center in our lives
and everything that we do
should resonate around our good deeds
and it brings me back to
when we talked about
you know repenting before it's too late
sometimes we get
so hooked to these
bad deeds that we commit to these sins
that we commit that it's difficult
for us
to pray
right and sometimes it's difficult for us
to do certain things the question
is why why is it difficult for us
to do certain things. And the answer is because of our deeds. Sometimes our sins are higher than
our deeds. Sometimes the things that we do, they determine how we're going to be. If you commit a
sin the first time, right? It's something we talked about before, but if you commit a sin the first
time, you're going to feel how? You're going to feel a feeling of guilt, of regret, right? A sense
of disconnection from Allah.
Then the second, the third, the fourth,
by the time you get to the fifth time,
now you're going to be like, oh, this is normal now, right?
It's been normalized.
Why, though?
And it's not because you haven't been doing any good deeds,
but it's your closest to Allah.
And every moment of your life should be good deeds.
And there's a hadith by the Prophet of Allah,
where he says that prayer takes you out of those states.
of evil, of sinning, of doing things that are harming to others, right?
And it keeps you in a state of closeness to Allah.
You know, just imagine the ability to pray at any moment
that you feel something may be happening in your life.
That you have this closeness to Allah,
and that no matter what happens, you're going to turn to Allah.
You're going to turn to Allah for your sonah.
You're going to turn to Allah through your dukeer, through your remembrance of him.
My brothers and sisters, every moment of our lives should be good deeds.
And there's a very important value of us doing good deeds.
And as Allah suiata says in the Quran, and whoever does a good deed,
who are increased for him good therein, right?
And it's also very important to realize that Allah supranahua ta'a la has granted us the ability,
ability to do different things, right?
He's granted us the ability to run, to walk, to talk, to eat, to drink, to do all these
different things.
And yes, gratitude is a very important part of our lives, right?
But how often are we grateful to Allah, Sufana, Huatala, for the brain that we have?
We're grateful for the things that don't need to be grateful for.
Oh, I'm grateful that I have a remote.
What?
You're grateful that you can watch something on TV.
that's not good right what are you truly grateful for you should be grateful for the things that
allah supranahua tallah has blessed you with that he's giving you abilities to do like being able
to actually you know run and walk and talk and do all these different things are blessings from
allah suhpana huatara and how do we use those right how do we use those things
allah's blessed us with these blessings how do we use them we must
ensured that we are returning that favor and good deeds.
That no matter what we do, we're returning the favor and good deeds.
If Allah's to pray and Abraham Abraham says, I gave you, I gave you a brain, I gave you a tongue,
I gave you all these things, spread my message.
He gave us a tongue for a reason.
He gave us a mouth for a reason.
Not to gossip, not to speak badly about people, not to back fight, not to sin with those
things, but rather he gave us these things to use.
good deeds to amplify our good deeds and how they will be amplifying on the day of judgment so
my dear brothers and sisters no matter what we do ensure that we are hastening to do good because every
moment is a new opportunity and as we may waste that opportunity we're not going to get that back
you know you're driving you know you're riding somewhere maybe you're just sitting at home don't waste
your time scrolling don't waste your time watching tv and doing all these things that are pointless but rather
do good deeds because eventually one day you will be taken over by these seven afflictions and you
will not be able or at least one of these seven afflictions but one day you will not be able to do
anything because one day you will be returning back to allah sufana huedallah and the only thing
that will matter at that point is your good deeds and if you wasted your time if allah supranah
granted you 40 years 50 years 60 years to live use every single moment
to do good. Don't just do good throughout the month of Ramadan. Don't just do good throughout the
month of the hijah, throughout certain periods of time, muham, all these times. But rather do good
every moment you have. Not every one day I do. I do one day a day. But every day, do something
that's pleasing to Olaus of Pamaata. We ask Allah to figure as far as soon as our shortcomings
and to grant us a special mercy not win this life, but maybe in the next. And we ask the loss of Pamaama
who is taught to make us amongst us who hasten to do good deeds and we ask for us
to our sasha to make us amongst those who do the good deeds for his sake
we're after that one and a hand to be like that
bismillah and a rahman and a man ameem alhamulah
and al-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-aaaaaaaaa and
Godhome, that I would be from the abe of Jehanna, and from athabre, and from the
fiddhah, and from the fiddhah, and from the fiddh, and from the fiddh, and from the
of all right of him to offer him, and we'll tell us on it, and we'll
beaude by Allah, from our sins of ushulah, and may beaulh, for la haughtylla,
and may bea haughty Allah, abelah, one of the shirik, and we'll, and shalh,
and we'llhann, Muhammad, abhul.
