Episode Date: March 21, 2026Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. As we conclude the blessed month of Ramadan, a time of reflection, worship, and spiritual elevation, we must consider how to carry the lessons learned in...to our daily lives. One of the key lessons of Ramadan is the importance of detaching from the Dunya, or worldly distractions, to focus on our relationship with Allah (SWT). Today, I would like to share some practical tips on how to maintain this detachment from the Dunya after Ramadan.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/sheikh-uthman-hadi--6689369/support.https://sheikhuthmanhadi.beam.lyhttps://open.spotify.com/user/315hadqmwxllibu6ubi5us2cbn2y?si=572b4d8898284e9ehttps://open.spotify.com/show/3MQHfrpjj3XXcqoPbN5Dl8?si=v6YQ42kpSx-VONBFhT3CzA

and Abraqa-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-bra-a-a-a-a-a-bra-a-a-a-a-bras
my brothers and sisters, we are back again,
you know, as we come back
after the day of Aid.
It was a very beautiful day yesterday.
So I do want to mention that we took pictures.
I took a picture.
I took pictures yesterday.
And we put them on the community and our website as well.
So it's not going to be anywhere dealing to anything other than those two sites, shall I say.
But inshallah, it took those out.
And we have a lot of beautiful other resources coming up for the Shama'amata Shawa.
And then, inshallah, you know, after Shawal al for Dukhada and Rihijja.
And then, inshallah, you know, more Mawāryushah.
months after that, inshallah.
Hamilah, ira-oh-a-oh-a-oh-a-oh-muched
I've mentioned yesterday I got this beautiful gift
from our brother in our community.
So may Allah, Sufranata, reward you
and grant you, berka, and blessings
and you and your family, bless you and your family,
and your family, berk and blessings, I mean.
One of the things I want to speak about,
and this is a question I actually was recently asked,
like, how do you detach from the dunya after Ramadan, right?
And it was actually specifically on the day of eight,
because they felt like for 30 days,
I attach from social media.
For 30 days, I attach from the web.
For 30 days, I'd attach from the pleasures of the dunya, right?
And doing things of the dunya.
And on the day of eight, you have that opportunity to do those things again, and it comes back.
It's like it's impossible to escape.
And it made me think about myself as well, because, you know, when you think about yourself,
you have to reflect and to put into reflection that even sometimes you go through these things
of, this is a really lovable thing in this dunya.
And it's not always just.
going to be, sorry, it's not always just going to be places. It's not always just going to be
objects, but sometimes it can actually be people. Sometimes you love people so much and not to say that
you're not supposed to, you know, have companionship and you're not supposed to love people and you're
not supposed to, you know, have relationships with people, but to a certain degree, right? Don't make
those people you're all. Don't make it like, oh, if I didn't have you, I wouldn't be alive or if I didn't
have you, I would die, you know, or, you know, there's certain statements that people make.
I know it's very like flat out like, whoa, what?
But yeah, there are statements that people make, you know, and I've heard before as well.
Like, man, without you, you know, or like, without this such and such person, like, I don't know where I would be.
And I was like, you would still be here.
You would still be alive in the very day and age that we're in right now.
So even trying to think about how when you're detaching from the dunya, it's not only just your objects and the things that you own and the possessions that you have and the materialistic things.
sometimes it can actually be the people that are in your life sometimes it can be the places
sometimes it can be the environment which is why there was a brother in the in the short term shall
i say of this question was asked and that was like i have this pleasure of like oh i love to
go to you know certain places like back where i was born or some things like this like it's not
is it permissible to do that and then how do i eliminate that out of my life because i understand
if you say it's permissible, and I said it was, right? It's permissible to go back. It's no problem with
that. But saying, okay, it's fine, but I kind of get tired of it. But it's like you kind of
continuously get stuck in attached to this dunya. You're continuously attached to the dunya.
And I want to give you practical tips on this. And the first tip I want to give you when it
comes to this. And the tip that we all have to look at ourselves is your NIA, is your intention, right?
The tip is your intention. Look at your intentioning. Setting clear intentions. So just as we made those
sincere intentions during the matthar Ramadan to fast and to pray and to be
the Quran through you know the maturaman just for the sake of Allah saffana and
He should continue that practice don't just leave it up to the month of Ramadan
or just to Ramadan or just to do hijja or just to do qada or just to be certain months
just to be times like that and when it comes to this ask yourself the question like
what do I want to achieve spiritually right spiritually out of what out of this
Dunya. And the very, you know, hard to understand what do I want to achieve. I'm not saying
what do you want to achieve in the manner of, oh, I want to pray these many prayers. I want to do
these good acts. I'm saying in the means of what do I want, what spiritual enhancement, what spiritual
goodness do I want to achieve out of this Dunya? That's the question I'm asking. And I'm asking all
of us, like, what goodness do you want to achieve out of this Dunya? And how are you going to use
the goodness of the Dunya to better your Akhenan, to better your place in the world? And to better your place
in the aherah, because a lot of us think that the Dunya is just doom and gloom,
which is just a terrible place to live in.
It is, right?
But at the same time, Allah, Sufana-ho-It-a-ta-la made it a temporary place,
which is why the hadith I want to quote, and I may quote it later if I go back to it.
But this is exactly why the Prophet of Allah al-Ale-Salam said,
be in this world as if you are a stranger or a traveler.
So don't stay in this world and don't prioritize your actions and your decisions upon this world.
and focus on what truly matters and the side of Allah, right, your deeds and the deeds that you're doing and what you're putting forth.
And it's very interesting as well because a lot of the scholars mentioned as well that when it comes to anything of this dunya, you can fund your achre with this dunya.
So don't look at this dunya as like a place that's just so terrible and so bad that you don't want to live in it and you just literally waste your whole life like, oh, I cannot wait to get out of here.
And then when you get out of here, now you're not prepared for your meeting with Allah,
Sufana-u-zada.
You're not prepared to actually meet him.
What is this dunya offer?
This dunya offers good deeds that you can put forth, charity that you can give, because
you think about it, a lot of us funding your achara is just charity.
But your achara is also funded by your good deeds.
So you fund your acherea by your good deeds, by your charity, by your acts of kindness,
by your iBada, because Allah, Sufana-ahua-a-ah-a-ha could have only made it where you only do good acts
and that's it.
He didn't have to put it where we put, we do our prayers and we do our acts of ibada, acts of worship for his sake.
But being that we are among the ibada of Rahman, inshallah, I ask Allah, so forth a make us among the ibnah,
the service of the most merciful, one of those things to mention here as well, when it comes to your worship,
is that it's actually a means of attaining a higher level in the ahera, right?
So when it comes back to the means of attention, the intentions that you have to set,
set your intention to only do anything and everything in this world only for Allah,
which is why at the end of Sertr-Sat al-Kaf, you know,
one of the reminders that's given in Sertr-Sir-S-a-Kaf actually very beautifully is that
it says, do you think that the life of this world is going to last forever, right?
They live in this life as if it's going to last forever, right?
And as well as they also mentions that there are people who live in this life as if they've done good, right?
They think that they've done good.
With the eyes of Allah, it's nothing, right?
Because they did it for the wrong intention.
They did it for the wrong reason.
They didn't have sincerity in what they were doing, even if they were only doing it for the right reason.
So when it comes to this, the final thing I will mention about your intentions is reminding yourself and reminding yourself of this commitment to prioritizing your imman and your Ibadah and your religion and your Islam over your worldly distractions.
Now, the second thing I do want to mention here to continue off is establishing a daily routine of your worship and limiting your distractions.
So what the person was also saying was that I cut away from social media.
When it comes to, you know, social media, television, and many other forms of entertainment set time limits for them.
And I want to go back to this for my event, reinvent yourself to Ramadan.
Specifically on day two.
And a lot of us, and I just want to make this quick statement, a lot of us, a lot of people were giving feedback.
I think we have more than about 5,000 or 6,000 feedbacks on what, you know, what you want to do for this, for the whole, the whole event.
So by the way, just to let you know the changes have been made, inshallah, that next year, inshallah, before Ramadan, whenever Ramadan comes in and we have the official date of when Ramadan comes in and we know, inshallah, we think we know we'll most likely do it 10 days beforehand and we're going to make the event longer.
People were like, this is a great event, adhem to do that.
Two things wrong with it, though.
I just want to mention this very quickly.
First off, the event was too long.
The days were too long.
I didn't get chance to fully watch it all at once,
so I was getting parts of it here and there
and still trying to work and still trying to do this
and still trying to that.
So I got that part.
Inshallah, next year we'll make it shorter.
And they were also saying that I feel like it was too short.
I feel like you couldn't put two, like free you.
I feel like the reason it was so long and elongated
was because you couldn't put as much as you want in there.
So day one being 30 minutes long of me speaking
because I couldn't put everything I wanted to put in there
in only those 30 minutes or only in this time
period. So making it longer. So inshallah, we heard your request. Inshallah, next year,
just so as you know, we'll make it longer, inshallah. We don't know the complete time
if it will be three or eight days or however long it may be, but inshalla, we'll make it longer
and we'll try to shorten everything. So we'll make the talk shorter and then make the days
and the amount of time that we have doing these talks longer. But when it comes to your distractions,
I mentioned this as well in the event on day two. And I specifically said that sometimes
when it comes to turning back to Allah, it's not always through what? It's not always through your
forgiveness. It's not always through repenting. And I'm actually going to ask you all a question while
I take a sip here because my throats are dry. I haven't drink any water yet. I forget I'm not fasting
right now, but I'm going to take it to the water, but I'm going to ask you this question. How many of us
are on social media? Raise your hand. And then how many of us know how long we actually spend
on it? And I'm going to give you a couple of seconds to think about that. I'm going to think about it
myself and I said to give you the actual true answer I don't have social media so I don't
spend any time on there the only thing the only time I ever spend on anything that's
you know kind of like social media is my community but for the whole moment of
Ramadan and actually even on the day of eight I was only on the community for
five minutes I think or whatever so I want to ask you all the question how long
are you on social media while I take the civil water and I'm gonna try to make this talk a
little shorter today probably about 50 minutes but I'm gonna take a civil water
and I want you to answer the question right
Okay, so I think I have about it mean.
So I see a lot of you are probably wondering, like, how are we going to answer this question?
I don't actually mean for you to answer me the question because there's a lot of us here, right?
So we're not going to go through here and sit down.
And I'm not just saying those who are in physical presence, but I'm saying those who are online as well.
You might have an answer as well.
But if you do know, I want you to ask yourself this question.
How much time are you actually devoting on social media rather than devoting it to your evaluation?
establish a time in which you just worship Allah.
Forget the social media.
Forget what's going on in the world right now.
Because everything that's going on,
how do we have strength through that?
How do we have strength through all that's going on right now in the world?
It's through our ebada and it's through our closeness to Allah.
And when it comes to doing your good acts of iBada and your acts of Ibad and those are
that's what's pleasing to Allah,
sa'u'u'u'u'u.
It's not always about doing the big amounts.
It's about doing that which is consistent and consistently doing it.
If you prayed every single day and during the,
month of Ramadan, then don't stop on the day of eight. Don't stop on the day after
a week from now. Continue going, continue striving every single day. If it was good for you
during the month of Ramadan, then it would be good for you outside of the year. And you might
still gain the same rewards. It might just be, you know, it's not going to be as multiplied
as it might be during the month of Ramadan, but you'll still be gaining those rewards. So if you did
pray all of your far prayers, if you did do extra sunnas, extra dikr, extra Quran, extra all of that,
keep it going, right? And don't stop it. Because the moment you stop it, then that's when the
shetan creeps in, especially now, because the sateen are back and they've returned. But when it
comes to this point, now we have to think, oh, the shetan are coming back and what are they looking for?
They're looking for those opportunities in which we are neglecting our Ibadah, in those times in which
we are falling off, which is why I had a question asked me before. And they said,
I have problems praying.
I feel like I want to pray.
I have the feeling to pray,
but I just don't feel motivated.
And to give you the short answer,
the prayers that you don't feel motivated to pray
are the most sincere prayers.
You know why?
Because even though you don't feel motivated,
early in the morning,
let's just say saddats and fudgers,
the hardest prayer to wake up for most of us,
including some of myself sometimes, right?
A hardest prayer to wake up for.
You decide.
Because I love Allah sufana huataata.
Because I want to worship Allah, I'm going to wake up out and get out the comfort of my bed.
So cozy.
So cozy, right?
I'm going to get out the comfort of my bed to go worship Allah.
I don't feel like it.
It's not sincere.
I don't have that true feeling.
And you still do it, those are the best prayers and those are the most sincere prayers.
Because if you did not believe in Allah, you would not really go do that.
If you did not understand why you're doing this and you're not going to go do it.
If it was only you in a house,
and I would just put you in one singular house?
Ask yourself the question,
would you actually go and worship Allah,
Sufana,
who it's out of every single prayer?
If there's no one else there, it's just you.
You have the will to do it or not to do it.
Which one would you do?
Most of us right now,
which is I would do, I would do it.
But if we did that right now at this very moment,
we took all the family members that are out of your house,
would you actually still worship Allah?
Sometimes it could just be because of the people
that are inside of your house.
And I don't want to make that longer.
But what I do want to mention,
my dear brothers and sisters is limiting those distractions that you have and focusing on that which brings you closer to Allah, right?
So when it comes here, and especially like I mentioned when it comes to those times of having devotion,
devoting your ibada and devoting your time just to Allah, which is why it's very important.
I mentioned this yesterday in the Qaqa as well.
I said that the Prophet of Allah al-a-u-Salam said the example of the righteous, or you know, the one who remembers Allah
and the one who does not is like the living and the dead.
I got a question as well.
What does it mean when the person is the living and the living in the dead?
Does that mean that they actually are physically living and they're actually physically dead?
No, it does not, right?
But it means your heart and your soul is dead.
Your heart and your soul is alive.
You feel contentment.
You feel as though you have a purpose.
You feel as though you can wake up and say,
al-h-h-a-l-law, I have a Lord who loves me.
I have a Lord who woke me up in the morning time.
You know you have affirmation that I am up only because my Lord did so.
Only because my Lord decrees.
I could have returned to him in this point because he takes my soul for that period of time.
And if he returns it to me, if he decides to return it to me, then I'm allowed to, right?
But if he doesn't and he takes it back, then I would have returned to him.
And that is where it comes to the living and the dead.
So it's not actually physically.
I probably should have mentioned that yesterday, but it's not actually physically living in dead people.
when he mentioned this hadith he was specifically speaking of the soul right do not turn your homes into
graveyards because what are the graveyards for they're not for the living people you rarely find living
people just no no living person is just in a graveyard just living in a graveyard right no none of us
have seen it ever i know none of us have ever probably seen a living person inside of a graveyard you
only see people who have returned to allah suhpana hua dada in graveyards so when i think
about this major brothers and sisters that give us all the reminder that to turn our homes into
graveyards in places where you don't remember allah because when you're in a graveyard you're not
alive you're not doing the things you used to do you're not remembering allah and kind of reminds me of
that on the day of eight people turn their houses into graveyards again they don't remember
allah and this is where it comes to the last point i want to mention here which ties perfectly into
this as well and that was surrounding yourself with righteous company that's going to bring you and
bring you back to Allah, Sufana-hu-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a. So do not forget, as we continue on throughout our
days, as we continue on throughout the month of Sha'a-Lah, that Allah-Sahmanahu-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-w will
always be there for you. But he has placed people in our lives to also help us down the path.
If you are a very righteous person, al-hambul-il-la.
But if you're very righteous and you have friends who are going to bring you away from
that righteousness, then those are not true friends.
which is why you need to surround yourself with great company.
Right?
I tell a lot of young people as well, especially a lot younger who are maybe teenagers who are, you know, at this age.
I tell them as well, don't just pick friends that you see in the massaged.
Oh, look at that.
He's a, there's another teenager over there.
It's a verification process, right?
Isn't there?
It's kind of like when you're getting verified for something.
There's a little process that have to go through and check all your content.
You're checking the content of the person.
I don't mean to get to a social media.
standpoint or to a technological standpoint. Maybe it's easier to reach people now. But if you think about
it, I don't want you to look at yourself and look at the people surrounding you and be like,
they're not on my level of righteousness, right? Because at that point, now you hit arrogance first.
And second of all, when you say someone's not on your righteous, your level of righteousness or
your level of love of Allah, remembering of Allah, it might honestly just be because they're not there
yet. And I spoke about this one time of saying someone who sins, but they still pray. There's
all these horrible sins, sins that you would think, Allah's not going to forgive this person.
Yet they come back to Allah in the end. And that's the reasoning why. And I quoted a hadith.
So the practical tips are to ensure that you are trying to remember Allah, to ensure you're
setting a clear intention, to ensure that you're reflecting on the temporary nature of this
dunya as is fleeting and to only live in it as a traveler or as a stranger and also and finally
most importantly as well to limit the distractions and establish a routine daily not weekly not
monthly not yearly of ibadah but daily so daily ibadah is very important so many brothers and
sisters we ask allah to grant us the ability to remember him to detach from the dunya
to be here as far as sins are our shortcomings
and granted us to special mercy,
not only, and this is life remaining the next.
But I might have gone over time.
Dizakhal al-Qa-haer, and I'm sorry
if my points were a little off as well.
I just want to let you all know
my throat is hurting a little bit as well,
so just in case, you know,
something might have sounded a little weird
is probably because of that as well.
So, inshallah, we ask Allah to find out of
our whole to grant us all to Feeek
and grant us all understanding.
I ask Allah to grant us all the rest of a beautiful day.
Inshawa, I justakum al-Qa-Qa-Qa-Qa-haer for coming out here with your brothers and sisters.
Inshallah, I'll see you all again for Sāat al-Magreb.
And so, and ala-a-sanao-a-rahmatelah and bernicests.
