Starting point is 00:00:01 Bismillah, Rahman, and I'mthulaheim, al-hambulah, and allah, the Rāsa'allu'a, and the Rālih, and Hishā'a, and Hishā'a and Aishawe and sisters. I pray that everyone is doing well, and I ask Allah, subhāhma, our sins, our showcomings, and grace and special mercy, not only in this life, but I mean, in the next. My brothers and sisters, alhambhally Allah, al-hah, al-hahmian. So we have started our Dahlhijja off.
Starting point is 00:00:26 Today is the first day of the Hijja, and the means, the one of the one of the one of the things I want to mention here before I go into is how I apologize again I said in the community when I originally uploaded it but I apologize again for the actual video coming out later yesterday it came out at 1.30 and it's supposed to stay at 1 30 but you know inshallah we'll do better as a team ultimately but it came out today at 2.30 so the hour afterwards I apologize for that for anyone who was looking forward to that and inshallah a la we ask Allah to forgive us for our sins of our shortcomings and our mistakes and we ask Allah who will tell us to allow for this series to be beneficial to that we ask
Starting point is 00:01:01 for anyone give us your feedback on this series inshallah after it's done right or even now during this point in time while we're still you know uh well we're still uploading every episode and you know have everything scheduled let us know inshallah what some of the things are we can change if there are things that need to be changed you know inshallah what we can improve on in the future inshachal what we know this is the month of sacrifice and this is the best this is the best 10 days to sacrifice and we've spoken about this before about sacrificing for allah suhpaniahua ta'u But one of the things I want to speak about is how to give Kurbani or Uduhiyah, right? So we know that Korbani is not just, uh, Kurbanis, sorry, we know that the Korani is slaughtering the animal.
Starting point is 00:01:43 But in this talk, I want to mention it a little differently. Corbani is not just about slaughtering the animal, but rather it is an act of obedience, sacrifice, gratitude, and closeness to Allah, suhaphan, or Allah, and Allah, And Allah mentions sacrifice in the Quran and he which he says in surah al-Qaulther he says, so pray to your Lord and sacrifice. So Allah's upon herrata tells us the story about Ibrahim and his son Ismail and this is a story of complete submission to Allah suhphanrahi when Abraham a la his son was willing enough to sacrifice what he loved most which is his child for the sake of Allah sopana or Allah's upon his hour replaced that sacrifice with a ram right and from that that moment this act became a symbol of devotion for us as believers now how do we properly give corbani now everything begins with sincerity and everything
Starting point is 00:02:33 begins with the right intention sorry if I'm speaking a little lower today inshallah will increase the volume for for the rest of those who are watching online for us you know here you know inshallah you can hear me just so let you know it might be the volume but the promise of Allahaheu's lam taught us that actions are judged by intentions so your Qurani should not be done just because everyone else is doing it or because it is cultural or it is something that you know you've been taught you've been told to do and you've been given to do by you know maybe your friends your family loved ones anyone like
Starting point is 00:03:04 that they should be done only seeking the pleasure of a lot subhanna and should be done only to seek the pleasure of allah subpoena now before giving the Corbani remind yourself of three main things I'm doing this to obey Allah saffani or how it I am following the Sunnah of Ibrahim alexana and I am grateful for Allah, Sufanahu Tala's blessings. The second thing is that Korbani is for the Muslim who is financially able, right?
Starting point is 00:03:33 So for the person who has enough money, they're able to do it. And if Allah, Suu'll Suu'llah has blessed you with enough wealth beyond your basic needs, then this is an opportunity for you to worship him. Now, some of the scholars consider it highly recommended, while others say it is obligatory for those who can afford it. So I would say you go by the one of it is highly recommended as well because obligatory might be a little far. If you have the means, then do so.
Starting point is 00:04:03 If you have the means, it's over the means. If you know that to sacrifice an animal, it's going to be $200 and you have $12,000, then at that point it's obligatory for you. If you don't have that much money or you don't have the needs to give that right now at this very point in time, then this is when it becomes recommended. and at this point you are free from the portion of obligatory upon you. Now, I don't want to also put into our heads that don't think this is too expensive. Like, oh, this is too expensive or, you know, I can't afford this right now at this very moment.
Starting point is 00:04:34 I need to pay my bills or I need to pay this. These are very important things. But if you have the ability still to do so, then do it. And also remind yourself that you're doing this for a loss of honor hotel because Allah's upon your hotel. Because Allah's upon Allah gave you the ability. So I want to give back for his sake. Now the third thing is choosing the correct animal. Now the animal for Korbani includes a sheep, goat, cow, or camels.
Starting point is 00:04:58 And the animal must be healthy and free from major defects. Now it should not be blind or severely sick, extremely weak or injured. So this is what I mean by it should be free from these major defects. So you shouldn't pick an animal that is severely hurt or it's injured, or one that has certain things going on. And Allah, Supperanahua-Talda deserves our best and deserves the best animal for sacrifice. And sometimes people try to find the cheapest animal
Starting point is 00:05:26 no matter what the condition might be. But remember that this is an act of worship and this act of iBada and an act of closeness to Allah, so give Allah something good. Give Allah, Sufana-Hu-Talda, the best animal that you can pick. Now give it during the correct time.
Starting point is 00:05:40 Now, of course, we know that Korbani is in the month of Dhul-Hijah. But Korbani begins after the Eid Salah on the day of Eid al-Aha and continues through the days of Tashir. And if someone sacrifices before the Eid, it does not count actually as Korbani. Didn't know if you know that. It is not count as Korbani if you gave it before aid. Now the Prophet of Allah al-Ale-Salam said that whoever slaughtered before the prayer, then it was only meat for their family. Not Korbani is not meant for others.
Starting point is 00:06:15 It is not meant to help. help others as well. So timing also matters and doing it for the sake of Allah supanahua huah and doing that the proper time, right? Now mentioning the name of Allah saffaniahu at all is something that's very important as well. So when the animal is sacrificed, the name of Allah supanahua should be mentioned by saying bismillah, right? So this reminds us that everything in this life belongs to Allah suhpano and everything that we have comes from him and also you're affirming that in the name of Allah
Starting point is 00:06:43 Sapanu'u'u'a am I slaughtering this? It keeps you in the remembrance of Allah shanahu'u'adah as well. The sixth thing I want to mention is sharing the actual meat itself, right? Not just keeping it for yourself. Because one of the beauties of Korbani is generosity. And traditionally, the meat can be divided in portions,
Starting point is 00:07:00 one part for your family, if you eat this specific meat. One part for relatives and friends. And one part of the meat for the poor and the needy. Now, this is the time of feeding others, helping the struggling and spraying, joy in your community. And there are many families around the world who may only eat meat once a year because of Koribani. So think about the award that you're getting because you decided to give to that family or give specifically what you did for a loss of Panah
Starting point is 00:07:31 Housata out and distribute it and you end up sharing that. And this gives you a reward for the fact that somebody else had the opportunity to eat. And one of the final thing I want to mention is remembering a sacrifice throughout these 10 days and remembering sacrifice when it comes to Qurbani. So my brothers and sisters, Allah, Supperanahua-Talda does not need the blood or the meat. No, does he need us. But Allah, Sufanahuita-a-a-da says in the Quran and Surah al-Haj. He says, neither their meat nor their blood reaches Allah, but what reaches him is your piety. What reaches him is your taqua. What reaches him is your closeness to him. So many brothers and sisters, what reaches Allah supanahua truly is your sincerity, your taqua, your obedience, your willingness to sacrifice for him.
Starting point is 00:08:17 Real Korbanini is not only just sacrificing an animal, but rather it is sacrificing sins. It is sacrificing laziness. It is sacrificing bad habits. It is sacrificing the things that distance us from Allah, Supanahua'a. So as we enter into these blessed days of the hijaja, we must ask ourselves, what are we willing to give up for the Allah, Sufana, Hecada? especially during this point in time. Maybe it is leaving a sin, maybe it is fixing our sara.
Starting point is 00:08:42 Sorry, this is squeaky. Maybe it is forgiving someone. Maybe it is ultimately becoming a better believer, better Muslim, and better individual. So when the brothers and sisters, we ask Allah, Suhphanahua-a-a-a-a-a-a-to-except our curbani from us, our worship, our duas, our sacrifices. we ask Allah upon Herodal to allow us to follow the example of your Rahim
Starting point is 00:09:02 al-a-salam in the sunnah of our beloved prophets of Allah-a-Ara-a-li-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-aa-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-sssssas.
