Starting point is 00:00:10 Bsmmila, and Rihamann, Alhamsulilu'll ilhawah Andhsala and Arousulillah Aalaii and Aishae Andhahehmu alaaaiki Myrbaldha and sisters
Starting point is 00:00:21 I pray that everyone Is doing well And I ask Allah Sufanao and Howe To go to our sins Our showcomings To grant his special mercy Not only in this life
Starting point is 00:00:27 Mainly in the next To accept our efforts from us And our fast from us And to ultimately Accept the whole Ramadan From us and our tobaughba And our forgiveness Amen
Starting point is 00:00:36 Mybert and sister Al-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-emes. earlier for our Isha, our regular reflection, actually, after my reflection, for seeking Leite of Kagan, we spoke about particularly how to, you know, how to ensure that we are avoiding or how we are making sure that we are defending ourselves against the Shetan. Sorry, my kind of mind kind of just blank right there. Like, what was the topic about? I forgot.
Starting point is 00:00:59 But nonetheless, how we can defend ourselves from the Shetan and how we can ensure that we are trying our absolute hardest, my brother's sisters, especially during these last ten nights. and especially during these couple of last ten nights, trying to escape the deceptions of the shaitan, inshallah after Ramadan, and ensure that we are practicing throughout these last ten nights. But one of the things I want to speak about tonight is it kind of provoked my idea,
Starting point is 00:01:24 but idea for this talk was the ilm that defends against the satan. Right? So what is it against the satan? And I would give a quick idea of it was that earlier I mentioned, and I said, when it comes to, you know, you know, someone who tries to shoot a bow or tries to, you know, maybe use a shield or use a sword. I'm just using this as examples, but of course, you know, it's very bad examples, of course, but nonetheless, whoever tries to do that, right? They try to use these things and they don't know how to do it, then they won't be able to use it and they won't be able to defend themselves. And when it comes to the Ilm, Ilm helps you defend yourself and it also helps you better your connection with Allah.
Starting point is 00:02:03 For example, if you only, if you did not seek Il on how to pray and how to worship Allah, then you wouldn't worship Allah. If you didn't seek Ilm about Islam, then most of us who maybe came to Islam by the sake of Allah would not even know about Islam. For many of us who don't seek Ilm on the proper way to pray, we wouldn't be praying proper and our prayers would become invalid. So when it comes to this point,
Starting point is 00:02:26 the Ilm that defends against the Shaitan is the Ilm that you know of, which one of the most beloved things to us that we have right now that we can mention a simple phrase is Aoudou Bilahehmina shaitan-Rajim. Oh, Allah, I seek refuge from you and be a cursed satan, right? I seek refuge in you from the accursed satan. So when it comes to here, we have to realize that even in these portions and these moments
Starting point is 00:02:50 of time, Satan is our enemy, of course. We know that. And Allah's about I mentioned that in the Quran. I mentioned that in my talk earlier in which I said, indeed, Satan is an enemy to you, so take him as an enemy. We understand he's an enemy. But how do we ensure that we defend ourselves against this enemy? If you have an enemy, you don't know how to defend yourselves, then they're going to
Starting point is 00:03:08 capture you. They're going to take that part of you. They're going to take advances of you. So when it comes to the shaitan, we have to learn how to ensure that we are seeking ill and that we understand how to defend ourselves and combat the deceptions of the shatan. And particularly, I want to mention an ayah from the, or actually I want to mention the ayah from the Quran, and then I want to mention the hadith. The ayah from the Quran is we have certainly made the Quran easy to remember. So is there anyone who will remember? The first thing I want to mention here is the Quran as a shield. Because regular recitation of the Quran, particularly Ayat al-Kursi,
Starting point is 00:03:46 and the last two verses of Sultal-Bakra shield and serve as a shield against the evil influences of the Prophet of the Prophet of Allah, against the Shaitan. And the Prophet's Allah alexand advised, when you go to bed, recite Ayat al-Kirsi, for there will remain over you a guardian from Allah. And no shaytan, no devil, no jinn, will come near you until morning. The second hadith I want to mention is when the Prophet of Allah a la Heu'll emphasize the importance of seeking knowledge as it is a basis for every Muslim. He said seeking knowledge is an obligation upon every Muslim. So knowledge of our faith, the Quran, and the teachings of the Prophet's Allah al-a-hāsaul, fortifies our hearts and our minds against the whispers of the wastes of the shaitan.
Starting point is 00:04:26 So when it comes here, also looking towards the fact that your vikr, your remembrance of Allah, helps as a shield against the shaitan. don't always just look to your prayers. It's very good to look to your prayers, but outside of your prayers, because specifically there's a hadith I mentioned, but a lot of us have this feeling. And I'm going to ask a question. I asked the question, two questions. I asked two questions earlier, but ask a question now.
Starting point is 00:04:49 How many of us have distractions? How many of us have these thoughts in our heads or in our minds during prayer in the maturamadan? Not many, right? We have thoughts here and there, and sometimes we just blow it away. Okay, I'll have to be it. But outside of the maturamada, how many of us have it? Yeah, everybody. Everybody has it, right? You have this thought, this idea. Oh, man, I need to get this done. Oh, man, I thought about that. That would be a great idea if I did that. Man, this is crazy how this is going on. This situation, this scenario. Which is why one of the things that you're taught to do is that to come to prayer in happiness. Why? Because if you come to prayer in anger, what happens? You remain in anger. And prayer is supposed to completely change you. If you're angry, it's supposed to make you even more happy. It's supposed to make you even more joyous.
Starting point is 00:05:34 after that prayer. So nonetheless, whether or not, you know, we feel as though we're having these whispers in our head after the matur Ramadan, prayer should be a means of turning back to Allah and gaining connection with Allah, as it is a means, a form of Dikr, or means of remembrance of Allah, which is why I want to mention Dikr, which comes to remembrance of Allah. So when he comes to engaging in Dekir, it's also a very powerful defense against the Shaton, which is why the Prophet of Allah al-a-u-Salam said and taught us the supplication to seek us. refuge from the sain saying, I will do with Allahe min as shaytran and Rhaegim, like I mentioned,
Starting point is 00:06:08 which is a direct invocation for protection. Allah, subana hua'u-ta-a-da reminds us, verily the plan of the shaytan is weak. So when you consistently remember Allah, we end up strengthening our faith and diminishing the influence of the shaitan. And when it comes to seeking refuge in Allah, ensure you're also making duaas,
Starting point is 00:06:26 not only just outside your prayers, but inside of your prayers as well. Which is why Allah, is upon His Allah says in the Quran, he says, your Lord said, invoke me, I will respond to your invocation. So it's very important that we try to remember Allah Safanahua'u'u'a throughout every part of our lives. And whenever we have these whispers of Satan, try to neglect them completely, right?
Starting point is 00:06:46 And sometimes the Shetan even has thoughts put in our head of, oh, man, this is like a terrible idea. Why is this happening? Why is that happened? And this leads to a whole bunch of other things. We're not going to get into completely right now. But I do want to mention a beautiful hadith about the sara. The Prophet of Allah, Allah, Hew-u-Sah-u-Sah-Lahsand-taught us to seek refuge from the
Starting point is 00:07:03 Shetan's whispers and narrated by Uthman Ibn Abi al-A al-Az, who said, the shetan comes between me and my prayer and causes me problems with my restation. And the Prophet's Allah a lai-a-hu-sselam advised him to seek refuge in Allah and to blow lightly, right, to his left three times. So specifically, you're having this, you say, Ardhman al-Shishishana-Rajan-Rajim, right? That's simply it. You know, some people actually spit, and I don't want you to spit, all right?
Starting point is 00:07:32 Especially if we're in the match. But nonetheless, if you are praying to get rid of that whisper is to just do it lightly three times. And then, inshallah, Allah, Allah will allow for that to be something that is neglected, as well as ensuring that you are reinforcing, reinforcing your tawakou or your reliance on Allah, Sufana, and you're also trying to ensure that you are trying to get rid of those negative thoughts that are incited by the shaitan. So especially during your lives, sometimes we let the thoughts of the satan linger in our heads. oh man this scenario what if this scenario happened and what if that happened and what if this happened and this person did this to me oh yeah I should do this or let's it happen and that
Starting point is 00:08:09 should happen and the next thing you know it now we're over here thinking about a whole conversation a whole thing a whole scenario we probably can make a movie from it but we're thinking about a whole scenario oh this is going to happen that's going to happen is how this is going to work when we're actually supposed to be focusing on the main thing which was our prayer and when it comes to trying to find support don't just find support from people we'll find support from Allah supranahahahah and especially in these last ten nights Allah subah subhahna hua ta a will accept your duaz from us all if all if Allah saffa will and we ask Allah to accept it from us all but the last thing I do want to
Starting point is 00:08:40 mention here and I want to ask I want to keep this one shorter I didn't say it in the beginning but I want to keep this one a little shorter so probably about 10 minutes but what I do want to say my brothers and sisters is that if you are having problems with your prayers even during the month of Ramadan it could be a means of your heart which is why seeking toba repenting which is why trying to purify your heart during this month of this month of Ramadan is very important it's actually one of the main benefits of the Motta Ramadan, not just abstaining from food and drink so that at night we can go back and have a feast to fill what we missed, but rather to actually purify our heart,
Starting point is 00:09:13 right? While we starve ourselves completely, that's how I say starve, but we kind of take away the food, the basic needs of food and drink, we are filling our soul with what? We're filling our soul with spiritual enlightenment. We're feeling our soul with spiritual rank and spiritual heightening, right? You're trying your absolute hardest throughout these last 10 nights, specifically to try and remember Allah, to try and purify your heart. And sometimes their meaning and their reasoning why you have these thoughts, even during the month of Ramadan, could be because your heart is not pure enough. And this is why, my dear brothers and sisters, we should try to purify our hearts, and we ask Allah to find out to make it easy for us all. But also, when it comes to community and people, try to seek that help from people as well, right? Which is why the Prophet of Allah, Allah, Heu's al-Sah, said the example of the believer in their mutual love,
Starting point is 00:10:02 mercy and compassion is like that of one body. One part of the body fills pain, the rest of the body responds with sleeplessness and fever, right? So when you surround yourself with a righteous company, you encourage one another to remain steadfast in our faith and to resist the temptations of the Shaitan. Sorry, I don't think I've drank enough water yet, but nonetheless, nonetheless, when it comes to this in these last tonight, seek the forgiveness of Allah, seek the pleasure of Allah, and ensure that you're seeking Il, which is the knowledge that defends against the state, And as it encompasses the recitation of the Quran, engaging in Dhikr, seeking refuge in Allah, fostering supportive community, and trying your absolute heart is to remember Allah in all aspects of your life. So while we continue to navigate the challenges of our life and the journey back to the divine, we must remember that the shaitan's whispers are merely illusions that can be dispelled through knowledge and through faith,
Starting point is 00:10:55 through amen, and through closeness to Allah, safanao'u-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-to-a-a-a to grant us to seek knowledge, to protect us from knowledge, the waswas of the Satan, the whisper of Satan, and keep us steadfast on the straight path. Amin, and after our anewa. Al-Hanthal-a-lhambhali al-hambhali Allah, and Abragaatim, and your brothers and sisters. Yeah, i. Those who are manu, kutib a-a-leikum as siam as kvah kvahed by the from before you,
Starting point is 00:11:23 before you, that you'd be
