Episode Date: March 20, 2026

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. As we gather here today, we find ourselves at a pivotal moment in our Islamic calendar. Ramadan, a month of immense blessings, spiritual growth, and comm...unity bonding, is coming to an end. However, the question we must ask ourselves is: how do we ensure that the positive changes we have made during this blessed month continue to resonate in our lives long after Ramadan has passed? Today, I want to discuss the concept of a Ramadan legacy and how we can keep the spirit of Ramadan alive throughout the year.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/sheikh-uthman-hadi--6689369/support.https://sheikhuthmanhadi.beam.lyhttps://open.spotify.com/user/315hadqmwxllibu6ubi5us2cbn2y?si=572b4d8898284e9ehttps://open.spotify.com/show/3MQHfrpjj3XXcqoPbN5Dl8?si=v6YQ42kpSx-VONBFhT3CzA

Starting point is 00:00:10 Bismillah, and Ruhman, and rameh, Al-a-ahim, al-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-aa-a-a-a-a-aaaaaaa. A'aaaaaaa, and the brothers and sisters, I pray that everyone is doing well, and I ask Allah, sa'u'u'u'a to grant us all a blessed Eid. And I ask Allah, sa'u'u'a a to be yours for our sins of our shortcomings. And grant us his special mercy not only in this life, mainly in the next. And the brothers and sisters, I ameemu, Mubarak to you all. all right-a-h-a-l-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-le. And I ask Allah, Saffa-hah-a-a-a-a-a-ta-a-to-g grant us the ability to be forgiven for our sins and our shortcomings,
Starting point is 00:00:46 to grant us, accept the toabab, accept the repentance, and allow for us to continue what we did throughout the month of Ramadan, shall we say, I don't mean to sound like I'm a tech guy, but exported out of the month of Ramadan and taken out of the month of Ramadan. Specifically, what I want to speak about tonight is keeping your legacy, keeping the what you did during the month of Ramadan alive, right? Keeping that Ramadan legacy. It's a very important thing I want to speak about. And earlier today, we spoke about that.
Starting point is 00:01:13 After Maghrib Salah, we actually specifically spoke about, kind of similar to this, the same thing. But I do want, my dear brothers and sisters, all of you to make dua, inshallah. We're making a dua at the end. We'll also use the names of Allah to mix us in there as well. So just to let you all know, inshallah. But my dear brothers and sisters, al-h-h-h-h-h-h-h-h-h-h-h-h-hout. We have made it to the end of the month of Ramadan.
Starting point is 00:01:32 We should be grateful. We should be happy. We should also have a means of reflection, as this is, you know, as our last night. Insha'llah, this is the last night of our series as well. So I would like to, you know, before I continue on and really completely start, I would like to thank all of you, at Hamda-Hrahrabrabdani for coming, not only online, but also physically and a physical presence, for coming for 30 days straight. I would like to thank the team.
Starting point is 00:01:54 I would like to think the staff. I would like to think the people who helped host this, who helped provide all of this. And I ask Allah, Sufana-ahua-ahua-ta-ah to allow for this to be beneficial and to allow for us to do a better series. next year than this series. And I ask Allah, Sophanahua to forgive us as an Ummma if we've made mistakes and forgive me if I've made any mistakes during any of these talks. And I ask Allah, Sufanahu, to accept it all from us and grant us
Starting point is 00:02:17 toafeek and understanding and continuous deeds throughout the rest of this year. Hamidulah, rubal, I mean, the month of Ramadan has ended, but guess what has commenced and that is the rest of the year. This month of Ramadan was like a training ground. And now afterwards, we go into the actual battlefield. And now it's time for us to go back, you know, sword to sword hand-to-hand combat again with the Shaitan, to go back again with him because Allah, Allah, Supperah, which says in the
Starting point is 00:02:43 Quran, Shetan is your enemy, so take him as an enemy. So my brothers and sisters, the reminder I give today is keeping that Ramadan legacy alive. What does it mean the Ramadan legacy? What is a legacy? A legacy is something that you have, right? If we were to say in this term of, let's just say an item, or let's just say, I'm not going to go for a person, but let's just say an item. A legacy is something that you've kept going for a long time. When someone says, hey, keep that legacy alive, what does that mean? If someone says, hey, I have a specific, you know, you have those necklaces or you have certain clothes or something, keep this legacy alive. This is my favorite, this is my favorite clothes.
Starting point is 00:03:18 You know, or this was your grandfather's favorite clothes. Keep this legacy alive. Well, for the rest of this year, my dear brothers and sisters, keep this Ramadan legacy alive. Do not allow for it to slip through your fingers and do not allow for the shatan to recaptivate you. Quitting your bad habits is very important. maintaining the habit of prayer, maintaining the good habits, reflecting on your Ramadan experience, how you can improve it, not next year, but how you can improve yourself throughout the year. And, inshallah, Ta-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-brothers and sisters will continue on through there.
Starting point is 00:03:45 But the first thing I want to mention is like I just mentioned, reflecting on your Ramadan experience. So first and foremost, when it comes to this, it's essential for us to reflect on the experience during the month of Ramadan. And as we know, the month of Ramadan is not just about fasting from, you know, sunrise until dawn or from done until something. sunset, sorry. So when it comes to this, I want to illustrate the point to you. When it comes to this month of Ramadan, does anyone in here have the answer to what the month of Ramadan actually is? Anyone? No? Okay. It's all right. It's a time for self-improvement. It's a time for spiritual awakening. It's a time for recognition. It's a time for deepening our connection with Allah. It's a time for quitting our bad habits. It's a time for building new good habits. It's a time for. trying to increase in our Ibadah, at the time for trying to strive harder in the cause of of Allah, Sufana, al-a-hudala for Allah, and it's mainly also as well a time of building taqua and righteousness and companion with Allah-Safana or other companionship with Allah.
Starting point is 00:04:48 Which is why, my dear brothers and sisters, you have to ask yourself the questions. Did you manage to achieve all of your goals this Ramadan? Most of us are going to answer with no. I have very few, I'm probably going to see maybe one or two people. say, oh yes, yes, we did, we did. But if you say yes, then you might actually need to go back and see if you can press a rewind button and go back to the Lantar Ramadan. You did not achieve your goals.
Starting point is 00:05:15 You know what your main goal actually is? First of all, it's Jinnah. I'm just making a joke here. It's Jinnah. You didn't really achieve your real goal. Second of all, the actual thing you're trying to achieve is closest to Allah, reading more Quran, increasing in your prayers, quitting all the bad habits that you have maybe developed,
Starting point is 00:05:32 trying to build a relationship with Allah. How many of us have waken up on time for Fajar? Right? It's hard. All of us. Even me sometimes I struggle. But I want you to actually ask yourself this question. Instead of, did you get all of it done?
Starting point is 00:05:47 Did you get some of it done? Oh, all of us are going to say yes. Yes, yes. I can say my yes, I did something. Now, I have another question for you. This one's going to make you contemplate deeply. Did you do enough in the month of Ramadan? No.
Starting point is 00:06:02 I say somebody's head, sheikh, yes. Allahi, no, you did not. I will correct you for you. No, you did not. Why did you not? Because, my dear brothers and sisters, you'll never do enough. Even the Prophet of Allah, He was Allah, wanted to do more, and he is the Nabi of Allah, suhāsaquana and He is just normal human beings. He was a human being as well.
Starting point is 00:06:21 But we are not messengers. We are not prophets. We are just humans. We are just servants of Allah. He was a servant of Allah as well. But I do want you to look here. If he, the prophet of Allah, still wanted to do more and still felt as if he had not done enough, being a nabi of Allah, subhanna-ho-to-a-va is enough.
Starting point is 00:06:40 It's enough. Being known as Habib Allah, the most love to Allah, and the most will love to Allah, is enough. But yet you still feel as though you did not do enough. But the brothers and sisters, if you say yes, then you have to go back and reassess. Reflection on your Ramadan. How did you do? How did you feel? Did you see every single time that you felt that pain when you were hungry and when you were thirsty?
Starting point is 00:07:05 Did you feel as though this is a terrible feeling? Every single moment that happened, what were you thinking about? Were you thinking about that next meal you're going to have? Or were you thinking about a Palestinian child who hasn't had a meal and who knows how long? Were you thinking about someone who's been deprived of their food, deprive of their basic needs? But yet you only have to fast for six hours and they've been fasting for six weeks, six months. What will we be thinking about? It's a question.
Starting point is 00:07:34 Allah just want to put our heads down and now and be sad. No. Ask yourself this question. In the moment when you feel that hunger, even after the month of Ramadan, when you're fasting and you continue fasting, inshallah for your voluntary fast, ask yourself that question.
Starting point is 00:07:50 What am I really fasting for? Who am I really fasting for? Am I fasting from validation for my parents, from my people, for my friends, from my loved ones? Am I fasting for Allah? It's a question we all have to ask ourselves and ask myself this question first. Think about it, my dear brothers and sisters.
Starting point is 00:08:09 Reflect upon your Ramadan. What did you do good and what did you do bad? What could you have improved on and what have you done absolutely terrible? How much Quran have you read? How much digger have you performed? Ramadan might be over for us, but our journey to Allah isn't. Even though we might have wasted Ramadan, do not waste the rest of your life. contemplating upon the
Starting point is 00:08:33 Dunya. Waste the rest of your life on what? It's not actually wasting. You thought I was going to say, Acha. It's not wasting. It's preparing. This life is temporary, but the hereafter is permanent. You will forever stay in the hereafter, and you will not
Starting point is 00:08:52 stay in this world, but as a traveler. Will Allahi, this Ramadan has felt like the shortest Ramadan ever, and it's going to get shorter and shorter every year, inshallah. My brothers and sisters, to move on to my second point is to maintain your prayers and maintain the good habits that you did throughout the Matur Ramadan. Because like I said, the Mat of Ramadan is short and it felt short. It felt quick. Every Magrib Salah, after the Maghrib Salah, everything started to move normal again for a lot of us.
Starting point is 00:09:21 Before that, we were just like, oh, come on. When will Maghrib come in? And the moment Maghru comes in, now we're like, oh, man, I feel bad and do it enough today. And this cycle goes on for 29 or 30 days. But your brothers and sisters, we still have one last chance at this nighttime. Do not quit the good habits. Do not quit the good habits that you did, but reverse it. Quit the bad habits.
Starting point is 00:09:42 Maintaining the habit of prayer is very important. It's very important. It's a very significant aspect throughout this month of Ramadan. Right? That's emphasized. It's your prayer. How many times do you pray if you pray throughout the month of Ramadan? Do you just pray the five and that's all?
Starting point is 00:09:58 Do you pray the five and your tarawi and your your your tahrjid? Do you pray the five and all your sunnas and your tachid and your tarawi? What do you pray? And do you pray excessive prayers after that yourself? It's a very important question. And especially for those five daily prayers that we pray, we have to be committed, more committed to praying them, especially throughout the rest of the year,
Starting point is 00:10:20 not just throughout the month and Ramadan, but throughout the rest of the year. And it's very important because one of the things in which the Prophet of Allah had to He was Salaim emphasized about sala is what he says the first thing that I serve and will be questioned about and held accountable of on the day of resurrection. His Sala. It's not his Siyam. It's not his Quran. It's not his Dua.
Starting point is 00:10:43 It's literally his Sala. Sala is one of the most important things and you want to have and prioritize your Sala over everything else. When it comes to the Quran, continuing your Quran recitation throughout the year. Don't just do it in the month of Ramadan. very important. How many of us only read the Quran, recite the Quran, do these things only in the month of Ramadan? We feel ashamed to do it outside the month of Ramadan. Why? Because we've gotten so used to the habit that the month of Ramadan is a time for Quran, but the rest of the year isn't. We don't need the
Starting point is 00:11:15 Quran the rest of the year. We only need in the month of Ramadan, no. During the month of Ramadan, it should be a built-up habit now. That you read at least one verse, one a year, just a day, even if it's just a day, read something, right? Read something, my dear brothers and sisters. And this is exactly why Allah, and Allah, subhanna-ho-ta-a-a-a-a-a-ta-la says, and we have certainly made the Quran easy to remember, so is there anyone who will remember it?
Starting point is 00:11:41 So my brothers and sisters, keep this Ramadan legacy alive of reading the Quran. Even if it's just a few verses, even if it's just a few pages, even if it may just be a juice a month. That's fine. You don't have to finish the whole Quran every single month. But what I am giving you the recognition of is understand the
Starting point is 00:12:00 Quran, allow for it to transform you, allow for you to be transformed by the Quran, open your heart to the Quran, not just in the maturumadar, but throughout the year. There are many lessons in the Quran that you have to open your heart to and you have to open your eyes to it and we ask Allah, Supper, our Holyata, to make it beneficial upon us all. The last and two things I would like to mention are specifically cultivating tukua, and setting new goals. My dear brothers and sisters, one of the most primary objectives
Starting point is 00:12:31 of the Mata Ramadan when it comes of fasting as well is Tattakun. What is that? Yeah, All rightehallelahmanu, kutib a leitou as siamukh as kutibal al-lhleven
Starting point is 00:12:46 kovikum, kabilikum l'a-lakum tattakun. Tukwa. Right, and Allah, Suhbhahua-Talah says in the Quran,
Starting point is 00:12:56 he says, Oh, you have believed, decreed upon you as fasting, was decreed upon those who came before you so that you may become righteous. What does righteousness mean? A lot of us think righteousness is in our good deeds. A lot of us think righteousness is in our money, our wealth, our failure. But actually, it's in tukwa.
Starting point is 00:13:11 It's in remembering Allah. You become more righteous when you remember Allah. And to keep that tukwa alive, you have to strive to be mindful of your actions and your intentions, regularly reminding yourself of Allah, and Allah's presence in your life. And my brothers and sisters, when you engage in vicar, you're remembering Allah. And when you seek to live a life that reflects your imam,
Starting point is 00:13:33 where you reflect your Islam, reflects your faith, then that awareness will guide your decisions and your actions, and it will help you remain steadfast in your ibada, ultimately in your life. And the final thing I want to mention here, and my point to me seem a little broken, but it's not, but the final thing I want to mention here is setting new goals. While we are concluding Ramadan, we shouldn't conclude our goals. or we are concluding Ramadan.
Starting point is 00:13:56 We shouldn't conclude our good habits. But rather, we should try to set new habits and we should try to build new goals for ourselves, especially throughout the year. That goal can be quora recitation. It can be more charity. It can be personal development. It can even be trying to better your character.
Starting point is 00:14:13 These are goals. And try to achieve them throughout the year. Not throughout a month, not throughout a week, not throughout a day, not throughout an hour, just a whole year. Until the next Ramadan. so my brothers and sisters whether prophet sallah alexand said actions are judged my intentions and every person will have that of what he has intended it's very important to set true goals
Starting point is 00:14:36 according to our intentions not according to our actions i am reading this much korean but my intention is to read it for the sake of all and i want to continue that good deed so this should be our goal my brothers and sisters and we must remember that even though Ramadan is closing even though Ramadan is ending, the legacy of the month of Ramadan is to be lived throughout the year. The lessons that we have learned, the habits that we have formed, the connections that we have strengthened with others, the connection we've strengthened with Allah, should continue throughout the year, and it should continue to be a guide for us throughout the year. By your brothers and sisters, inshallah, we'll make our dua, and inshallah, we'll end here.
Starting point is 00:15:13 I don't want to make this too long, and I don't want to put us into a predicament where it's too long for us all. My dear brothers and sisters, inshallah, like I mentioned earlier, we're using the names of Allah. So this particularly five, actually. Five names of Allah, inshallah. So you'll hear them in this dua. Make your own duas, inshallah. After this, I know I've said that before, make your own duas, inshallah as well.
Starting point is 00:15:33 We ask Allah, Safarangana, God, to accept it from us. I mean. Audevil Allah, bin, Islam, bismillah, Rahmanan, Rahim. Al-Hawalamah, and al-Araim. And Salatheu'll Allah, and al-Alihah, and ashabi'e'am'i'am.
Starting point is 00:15:48 Arrahman, the most merciful. We come before you with humble hearts, recognizing your infinite mercy and compassion. We thank you for the countless blessings that you have bestowed upon us during this blessed month. O most merciful, O'O. Arrahman. Forgive us for our sins and our shortcomings and accept our fast, our prayers and our good deeds from us.
Starting point is 00:16:05 Al-A-Fu, the partner. We seek your forgiveness for our sins and our transgressions. You are the one who erases our faults and grants us a fresh start. Oh, al-A-Fu! Please cleanse our hearts and our souls from all impurities. Any impurities that it may be and grant us their strength to turn away from the sin and to desire only your pleasure and only your love.
Starting point is 00:16:26 Yeah, Allah, as we continue, as we conclude this month, we ask you to pardon us and accept our repentance from us, not only just in this month, but throughout the rest of the year. El-Wadud, you are the most loving. Fill our hearts with love and compassion, not only just the love of others, but your love, not only just the compassion of others, but your compassion. Help us to embody the love that you have for us
Starting point is 00:16:47 by showing kindness and mercy to others. Oh, oh, Allah. Wadud, strengthen the bonds of our families and our communities and guide us to be a source of love and support for one another. O Allah, subhanahua ta'a'a. You are the one who hears our supplications and you know our internal thoughts and our innermost thoughts, yeah Allah. We ask you to respond to our prayers and to our duas and to our ibada and grant us what is best for us in this life and mainly in the hereafter. You are aware of our struggles and our situations and our hopes and our dreams and our desires. are trusting you knowing that you are always near.
Starting point is 00:17:27 O Rabb, our Lord, guide us on the straight path and help us remain steadfast in our Ibadah. As we leave this month of Ramadan and still in us the desire to continue the good habits that we have developed, make us among those whom remember you and remember you often and seek your pleasure in all that we do. Oh, Allah, subhanahu, and a. As we conclude this beautiful blessed month of Ramadan, we ask you to accept our efforts from us, forgive us for our sins and our shortcomings, and grant us a leg of it.
Starting point is 00:17:53 that last beyond Ramadan and a legacy of righteousness that last beyond the Ramadan. May we carry the lessons that we have learned into our everyday lives and allow for us to continue to go closer to you through every single day. I mean, my brothers and and sisters, wakur, I want, al-hah, Allah, Rabb'an. Until next Ramadan, I ask Allah, to protect you all and forgive you all and bless you all, eat borgic to you all, like I said before. Until Ramadan, until next Ramadan, until next Ramadan, I'll leave you all in the peace and care of Allah, Sufran, and Allah, Suhāsa'Alla,
Starting point is 00:18:26 with Salama, and alaikum and rhamtulah, and brahmetulah, and bricathe. I'mubarak.
