Bismillah, Rahmane, al-hameh, al-hazir-lidh, Rabeh, Rāraim, and Salatu-Salam, and
our Aaliki, and a al-Aishapeh, a jane.
Our praise is due to Allah, suhanna,u, ta'allah, the lords of the world.
We seek his guidance, his mercy, and his forgiveness, and may the peace and blessings
be upon our Prophet, Sall-A-Law-A-A-Lah-A-W-Salamly, his family, his companions,
and those who follow his righteous past until the day of judgment.
Amin.
Assa'amu'a alaqa-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-sha-a-sha. Welcome to our first talk, shall we say,
our episode of this beautiful series, Ramadan and Beyond. I'm sorry we started it late due to, you know,
things that happened. But, al-hah, we're starting during the month of Shawal,
and, it will be reminders given out here and there, and we ask Allah, suhanna-ho, to ask us a vera-a-a-a-raka.
One of the things I want to speak about today and specifically addressed is a topic that is crucial
for our spiritual well-being, especially after Ramadan, and especially the community that we have
around us, and that is the importance of concealing our own sins and the sins of others. And it's
very beautiful because we spoke about sins and seeking forgiveness of Allah supanahua-ta-a-ta-a-ta-a-ta-ha.
But when it comes to, you know, committing the sins, you have to think that we are all susceptible
to sin, no matter how righteous we may be, no matter how much money or how much fame, or however,
or whatever we have been granted in the
Dunya and Allah, supranahua-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a,
in His infinite mercy, has actually given us an opportunity
to repent and seek forgiveness
for those sins that we have committed.
And it's very beautiful because in the Quran,
Allah, Allah, Allah, saffano and aurehoreh.
Quil, yeah, ibadi,
y'hleh, let'shraffo on fosim,
la, la te cannautu in Allahe,
in Allaheufur-Jem.
All my servants, who have wronged yourself
by your own actions.
despair of the mercy of Allah for indeed Allah suprana hua taa forgives all sins.
So when it comes to this beautiful ayah it reminds us that no matter how grave our sins may be
Allah suiata's mercy is always greater and it is a time for us my dear brothers and sisters
even though we have exited the month of Ramadan is a time for us to still turn back to
Allah saffana a hua ta'in sincere repentance rather than exposing our own faults and also the
the faults of others. And it's very beautiful because before I cover hadith, I want to emphasize
the importance of covering, you know, one another's faults. Because sometimes we get into a habit,
maybe before Ramadan, maybe afterwards, where we, you know, we don't cover each other habits. You know,
someone does something and we go and we immediately tell us to such and such person, such and such
person. But in this beautiful hadith, it is narrated that Prophet Allah al-a-u-u-Salam said,
whoever covers the fault of his own Muslim brother or sister,
Allah will cover his faults on the day of judgment.
So under brothers and sisters, covering your faults and covering the faults of those around you
is a very, very beautiful thing.
And in this hadith, it illustrates that the reciprocal nature of mercy, right?
We want the mercy of Allah to conceal our sins.
And how do we gain that mercy by having mercy upon others and concealing other sins?
And whether that is that, you know, someone did something that is wrong to you or maybe someone did something and you happen to know, do not go around the world telling and telling and telling.
And also, my brother and sisters, we also ensure that we are trying to gain more closeness to Allah by closing off anything that could bring us away from Allah, Safranahua'u'a'u'a'a when it comes to those sins that we've committed.
And also how Allah, Sufana'u'u'u'a'a has already covered us during the day.
and if we go out at night telling our sins
and what we did, then
why would we want Allah,
Supanahua T'a'u T'a'a to cover us again during the day?
And this brings me to the next hadith,
which is narrated to the Prophet of Allah al-Assalem said,
if a person commits a sin and then conceals it,
you know, he has done well.
But if he exposes it, he has done wrong.
And it highlights the gravity of exposing your sins,
not only for the individual, but also for the community,
also for the Ummah.
And when you expose others, it's very, very dangerous to do.
And we should fear doing this is also one of a very bad thing that we should, you know,
try to stay away from my brothers and sisters.
When it comes to exposing others, we end up creating an environment of mistrust and fear,
which is also contradictory, you know, contrary to that spirit of brotherhood and sisterhood as well,
that, you know, Islam promotes.
What I want to also go deeper upon is when it comes.
to seeking that forgiveness of Allah understanding that even if you have made a mistake or
your brother has made a mistake do not let it be something that you expose this period you've
done and you expose it because when you conceal it when you seek sincere forgiveness for it
Allah suprana hu is Allah removes that from the angels and he also removes it from the
scale so he will not put it in the scale it will not be in your books it will not be on the scale
but when you go and you expose your sins even if you have
to seek sincere forgiveness from Allah, it might not be forgiven because that person may go tell another person your sin and then continue on and next thing you know it now it's going on. And sometimes it actually is a means of pride. And this is exactly why Allah, Supperahua Rhoita warns us about this in the Quran. He says, and do not spy or back by each other. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of your own brother? While he is dead, you would detest it, right? You would not want to do that. It is very interesting as well because when it comes to the reminders that the
Quran gives us, it's a very powerful one here that it gives us of the consequences of exposing
others' faults. Just as we would reconcile and we, you know, would not want to be exposed, right?
If we have the choice of someone to expose us or to not be exposed, you don't might be exposed,
right? Because you know what that leads to and a whole bunch of other things.
And also, my brothers and sisters, we also must remember that Allah supran or how it
loves those who repent. And Allah mentions that beautifully in the Quran when it comes to repentance.
and it's a center to remember that Allah,
supranahua'u'a'u'a's love of those who repent
is very vast and is very high for us,
and he wants us to come back to him,
which is why he specifically says in the Quran,
indeed Allah loves those who are consistently repentant
and loves those who purify themselves.
So many brothers and sisters,
when he says here, he loves those who constantly repent
and those who he loves those who constantly purify themselves
or those who purify themselves,
he means those who repent for their sins,
and they purify themselves of what they did that was wrong,
and they step away from it, right?
As well as they also protect themselves from doing that sin again.
So,
my brothers and sisters, you know,
try to focus on your own repentance rather than the sins of others.
When we are busying ourselves with seeking our own forgiving for our own surecomings,
we cultivate a heart of humility and compassion for others.
And when you find someone in a means of they're doing something that's wrong
or displeasing to Allah,
do not immediately go to such and such person and tell them,
oh, this person did that sin last night,
or they did this sin and they did that sin.
But rather go to Allah, Suhpanahu, and Hecala,
and seek Allah, suhpanaahu, Tallah, for forgiveness for your brother.
Why?
It's very beautiful as well, because there are also many hadith about this,
that when a person makes du'at for his own brother or sister,
that the angels say ameen.
So you're asking Allah, Suhpana, Hewatea,
to forgive your brother for this sin and for whatever the sin was,
that they committed, and the angels are saying,
amin, and inshallah,
you will also be forgiven for whatever sins you have committed.
And also the Prophet of Allah, Allah, He waslam said that the best of believers are those who are best in character
and most kind to their families and those around them.
So when it comes to that kindness, it should extend to how you treat one another and those times of weakness as well,
because when it comes to those sins that you commit and the sins that others commit,
do not you want to offer support and guidance and try your absolute hardest not to expose each other when it comes to those sins because you want to arise above your shortcomings not fall below them so it's very important my brothers and sisters that we try our absolute hardest to after Ramadan as well to try and remember the profound wisdom in concealing our sins and the sins of others whether that is our brother or whether that is our sister in Islam and just remember that Allah
subhaphanahua ta'a'a mercy is vast and he has granted us the ability to repent and to seek
his forgiveness day after day and we must strive to be a means of covering others as we want
allah supranahua ta a to cover us and we do not want allah to expose our sins to others
and we must embody compassion understanding support and mercy in our lives my dear brothers and sisters
we ask all so upon our who is out to grant us a strength to cover our own faults and grant us his
mercy to cover our own faults and you know those around us and others and we ask
Allah supranahua to forgive us for our own sins our own sins and our shortcomings and
we also ask Allah suhpana hua ta a few people who have made mistakes and
those who have exposed to one another and we ask Allah suprana hua Tala to
figure us all as he is the all forgiving he is the most merciful my brothers and
sisters jazakhmu al-qaritan for listening we ask Allah suhupon our who it's
to forget us all again.
And finally, my brothers and sisters,
inshallah, these reminders will be throughout the rest of,
inshallah, hopefully this year maybe.
It will be right with reminders here and there.
It won't just be in the month of Shawhal
and it won't just be here.
We ask Allah, Sapanarhu,
to grant us all the understanding and sofeek.
If I've made any mistakes,
you know, inshallah, I ask Allah supanhoota to forgive me
and also for any of you to forgive me.
We're achur, al-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a.
Jizakmal al-Qa-charen for listening to this episode, my brothers and sisters.
I pray that we gain something, not only just myself, but all of you as well.
And asanaam and a laiqmateaulah, and abracatulah, and brahmatelah, and braikato.
