Bismillah, Rihman, and al-havalli
and al-a-harmu al-a, Rasmu'lli, and al-a-hiliah,
and al-aulah, and sahbehi, and my dear brothers and sisters,
I pray that everyone is doing well,
and I ask Allah, Safanahua-Tal, to forgive us for our sins
are our shortcomings, and to grace and special mercy,
not only in this life, but mainly in the next.
My dear brothers and sisters, today I want to talk about a very important topic
that we have to understand is coming very quickly,
and that is the beautiful and blessed mantra of my
and how do we prepare for it following the sunnah of the Prophet of Allah a He was
Salaam how did the Prophet of Allah a He was Sala prepare for this beautiful month and such a blessed month and how did he do so
There's a problem we have about I believe right now it's of two weeks it might be a little under two weeks now
But we have some time inshallah to until the month of Ramadan
And shah all until my event comes up but for right now we're sticking on Ramadan not the event
but the month of Ramadan is coming and approaching
and among one of the things that is most significant
about this month my brothers and sisters is understanding it
and you know Allah supranahua ta a while says in the Quran
bismillah rahmanu andrahim he says
yeah
iiouh el ladies
amanu kutib a
kuiamu kutiba on
the naiihaniqa
kovikum
laelkum
tattakoon
says, oh, you who have believed, believe in what?
Believed in my book.
Believed in my signs.
Believed in my message.
Believe in me.
Follow my religion.
He's saying, oh, you have believed.
Verily, fasting is prescribed upon you as it was prescribed upon those who came before you.
So what is he speaking about here?
He's speaking about the Salaf, the pious predecessors, those who came before us, but they
came after the Prophet of Allah, Allah, He wassalam.
It's kind of an in-between link here.
You think about if this were the time.
timeline, right? It's kind of like that. It's kind of like the timeline is here. This is us and this is the
Prophet of Allaha-Sallem. They came just in between, just in between both of those, which is why he's stating those who came before you.
And honestly, we have to date this back honestly even more, like I was saying at the beginning, to following the sunna of the Prophet
Allah-a-a-u-u-Salam. This even dates back to the Prophet's Allah-a-a-u-u-u-sand-the-end. And the end of the ayaha-a-a-a-a-a-and-a-a-and-a-a-and-a-a-and. So that you may become,
among the righteous.
What does that mean?
When Allah,
Supanahua-Tal, says in this
Ayah, to become among the righteous,
he is speaking about those
who are righteous,
who are pious in their faith,
in their belief,
in their imman,
who are close to Allah
supanoho'u'a,
who their main goal,
no matter what happens in life,
is to gain more closeness
to Allah,
rather than gaining
a distance between them and Allah.
That's what righteousness is
in which Allah,
subana hoiata is stating here and then he's also stating those who obey him completely because fasting
is a means of obeying Allah Allah suprana huatara tells us to eat at a certain period of time
and to stop eating at a certain period of time to fast from a certain period of time to stop fasting
from a certain period of time and so so on right we're not just going to be like you know what
i don't believe that i want to do my own thing i'm going to say you know what i want to fast at this
certain time I want to eat at this certain time no right because of that were the case then we
would have our own time limits and we say I only want to fast for two seconds and I think I'm done
and honestly some people wouldn't want to fast they just want to fast in the last 10 nights
which is why Allah's upon a ho its a la is saying here as well that I've made fasting an obligation
upon every Muslim right and he's saying look at those who came before you right so he's giving
us the example he's saying the dating back even to the beginning of Islam he is saying that
all the way back.
Still, no matter what happens,
fasting has been prescribed upon you
all believers. Oh, you who have
believed, who believe, in the message,
in my book, in
my religion.
Though, all you who have believed,
fasting is prescribed upon you so that you
may become among the righteous.
So this is the meaning of this
verse in which Allah, Supanahua Tala
is explaining this in.
My brother and sisters, we have to realize that this
blessed month of Ramadan is a time
of blessings and mercy.
And as I said before,
Allah Sufana-ho-Tala has made fasting
during this beautiful month
and obligation for every Muslim.
It doesn't matter, right?
What the circumstances are
as long as they are within certain circumstances, right?
For example, whether someone is,
if they're sick, if they're traveling,
if a woman is on her period,
or, you know, so on and so forth,
then you're not able to fast.
We ask Allah to allow for us to fast as Ramadan
and to gain the blessings and mercy and forgiveness from it, I mean.
So what Allah, Supanahua is speaking as well in this ayah, he's telling us is that fasting
is a means of gaining true takua.
Takawa is God consciousness or being conscious of Allah supanahua which I talked about in
previous talks before.
In one talk, which was called repent before it's too late, I spoke about repenting for
your sins.
We all make mistakes.
every son of Adam
like the Prophetos Allah a
Allah Allah He was
said every son of Adam is a sinner
but the best of sinners are those who repent
every son of Adam is going to sin
we are all going to sin
but when you have true
taqwa it means that you
obey Allah
right and it's very difficult for you to
disobey Allah it's very difficult for you to
disobey Allah and it's very
difficult for you not to remember
Allah because when you have
taqua if you look at the
God consciousness you're conscious of Allah you are conscious that Allah supranahua
Tala is always watching that Allah saffana hua Tala is always writing or the
that the angels are always writing down the things that you do and honestly this is a
tip that you know I do like to give to all of us and your brothers and sisters
and that is when it comes to doing a good act when it comes to doing a good act
especially throughout the monthar Ramadan it is probably tripled or quadrupled
and only Allah, Sufana-hoi-ta-a-na-na knows,
but I'm just speaking about the month of Sha'aband.
When you do a good deed,
the intention that you have,
which is the next thing we're moving on to,
inshallah, but the intention that you have,
if you have the intention to do a good deed,
it is already written down.
For example, I'll give you a great example.
If you have the intention to pray to Hajid,
for the sake of Allah and Allah alone,
not to impress anyone,
not just so you can wake up and get other things done,
but only so you can meet with Allah
and you can build a connection with him
if that is your only reason
you have a true sincere intention
then Allah suhpanaahuahua Allah will reward you for that
and it will be written down immediately
and then if you have
completed it which means that you did the action as well
which means that you had the intention to pray
you have the intention to pray to Hajid
and then you actually went through and with it and did it
then you get double reward
You get rewarded for the intention and for the action.
Which is why when the Prophet Salah Ali Hulam said,
actions are judged by intentions.
And every person will get that of what he has intended.
So if you intend to do a good deed, it is written down.
And it's kind of vice versa, but not really,
because Allah, Sufano, His Allah is most merciful.
And I state this ayah a lot in a lot of my talks.
And that is,
Bismillah, Rahman, Rahimim.
do not despair in the mercy of Allah for Allah subhanahu
and what does this mean what am I implying right here what I'm implying is that
when you do a bad deed whatever it may be whatever you do a bad deed you have the
intention to do so it's not written down yet it is held and then when you actually do it and
and you complete the bad deed, it's still held for a certain period of time or honestly for however long,
Allah, Sufana'u'u'u'i-tala wants and only Allah sa'u'u'u'i-a-tala knows the true time, but it is held,
and then after that period, if you seek forgiveness, it is replaced with good deeds.
But if you don't, and it is actually written down, and then you seek sincere forgiveness and you make tovah to Allah,
to Allah supano hua
then at that point
then it will be forgiven
the angels will forget
and Allah supano hua
will remove it and replace it with good deeds
how merciful is Allah sapanahua
but your brothers and sisters
I do want to speak about your intention
the Prophet of Allah
Allah aliyu'll say
spoke and emphasized
the importance of intention
in all of the acts of worship that we do
and as we prepare for the beautiful
month of Ramadan we should ensure
that we make a sincere intentions to fast, pray,
and engage in acts of worship and acts that are pleasing
to all Allah, Sufana, and Heiata,
engage in acts of charity,
engage in the recitation of the Quran,
trying to memorize some suras.
If you can memorize a short surah,
because trying to memorize all the
of the sauras of Bahara throughout the month of Ramadan
is not going to happen.
You won't get the true benefit from it,
and don't think too large.
Some people say that you're supposed to read
the whole Quran throughout the month of Ramadan,
but, my brothers and sisters,
it's fine,
For some, I'm not going to argue.
I'm not going to say it's right or it's wrong, but I will say this.
If you want to gain the true benefit of the Quran, the Quran is not meant to be read in 30 days.
It's meant to be read and however long it takes you to read it.
Right?
So I'm not saying that you need to just limit it to 30 days.
I'm not saying it should be three years that it takes you to read the Quran,
but I'm saying that you should gain the true benefit and take your time and slowly go through it.
And we ask Allah, Siphanahua.
us all and we ask Allah to make it us and give us a clear understanding.
But my dear brothers and sisters, it all depends up to what you want to do.
I'm just giving you the opinion of what I do.
I don't read the whole Quran through Ramadan because I want to gain the true benefit of it.
If I'm just reading,
and I'm just reading, al-h-h-rah, Rabanam-mi-Ham-Ram-Rah.
And I'm going super-duper fast with every single Sura so I can read it,
then I'm not going to gain the true benefit of it.
And every Sura has a meaning behind it.
And even the short suras can take you down a long path,
of learning. So my dear brothers and sisters, ensure that no matter what you do, you are taking
your time throughout the Quran. And if you want to go through the 30 days, as I said, I'm not saying
you should. I'm not saying you shouldn't. It's all up to you. And that is between you and Allah
Safana-ho-a-a-a-da. My dear brothers and sisters, ensure that we are preparing our hearts
for this beautiful month of Ramadan. And before I get to that, I would like to mention fasting on
the sunnah days, because we are past the sunnah days now, unfortunately. But al-a-a-a-ha-ha,
for those who have fasted, al-hahah-l-l-l-l-da-days to fast in Sha'an and to fast are the white days,
the three white days, the 13th, 14th, and 15th of every month, except for the month of Ramadan.
Take the exception of those 11 months.
The month of Ramadan does not count because it is an obligation, as I said, upon every Muslim,
if you have the opportunity to do so to fast the whole month, right?
unless you have, you know, certain necessities or, you know, things that may be going on that you're not allowed to do it.
So you're not allowed to do so.
So in that case, it would be fine.
But when it comes to fasting my dear brothers and sisters, it is a recommended sunnah of the Prophet of Allah, Allah, Aalaiiw salem to fast the 13th, 14th, and 15th of the month, white days.
And as it said, we can fast any other days.
It's also a sunnah of the Prophet of Allah, Allah, Allah, Allah, He waslam, to fast.
on Mondays and Thursdays, right?
So, inshallah, ta'a, ensure that if you cannot fast on the 13th, 14th, the 15th,
the white days, then try to fast on Mondays and Thursdays.
If you can, inshallah, we probably have two more of those left in this before we hit
the month of Ramadan, and only Allah, Sufana, or who it knows.
My dear brothers and sisters, ensure that we are preparing our hearts.
As we prepare for this beautiful month of Ramadan, my dear brothers and sisters,
it is essential and it is very crucial for us to focus on our hearts.
hearts and our intentions.
And the Prophet of Allah a
al-a-a-hu-sallem taught us the importance
of sincerity and humility in our worship.
We should strive to purify our hearts
from any grudges, jealousy, hatred,
and engaging in forgiveness and seeking forgiveness
from others is essential.
The Prophet of Allah, Allah, a.
Sallah, He waslam, says,
whoever does not show mercy to our young
and does not honor our elders is not one of us.
So, my dear brothers and sisters,
ensuring that you are
seeking the forgiveness of Allah, ensuring that you are giving mercy,
you are showing mercy to those around you,
and ensure that no matter what happens, my dear brothers and sisters,
there was a hadith, and I'm not going to quote it because it's very long,
inshallah, ta'a, it is getting close to Maghruh time.
I don't know if you can really tell why it's getting darker,
but it's getting close to Margarb time, inshallah, ara.
But there was a hadith in which a man was among the people of Jinnah,
and the companions wondered why,
and it was because he cleared the grudges of his heart.
the people who might have wronged him and did not matter he cleared those grudges and he forgave them so my dear brothers and sisters try your absolute hardest to forgive people i know it can be difficult i'm saying that to myself i know it can be very difficult to forgive people especially if they continuously wrong you day after day and ensure that no matter what happens my dear brothers and sisters if a person continuously harms you try to resolve it if they do not want to resolve it then take a little step back okay so it's it's permissible to do that we're not
saying that you need to completely eliminate them out of our lives unless they are, you know,
not within the, within our family. Because as we know, it is a sin if you eliminate, you know,
your family out of your life. And that is a completely different talk, inshallah,
we'll go into my dear brothers and sisters. But the last thing, one of the last things I do
want to ensure that we are going into my dear brothers and sisters is setting pure and clear
goals for the month of Ramadan. Ramadan is a,
beneficial time to set or sorry Saban is a beneficial time to set goals as we go into the
maturamadan these could include completing the Quran like I said for some this could
include praying extra prayers like you're no waffle right the voluntary prayers it could be
trying to wake up for the Hajjid more throughout the Matar Ramadan and carry that
beyond the Matar Ramadan it could be trying to pray more a rakaz or kiama
lei it could be trying to read more Quran it could be trying to do anything
Even if it's more vikr, whatever it could be more dua, anything, my dear brothers and sisters and we should prepare to engage with our communities, whether that is by attending prayers of the masjid or participating in iftas, my dear brothers and sisters and the pro then the provis of Allah a He waslem said the prayer and congregation is 27 times greater than the prayer offered alone. So my dear brothers and sisters in short, and as I said before I go to this, you know, we don't know what the reward is.
throughout the Matar Ramadan for those prayers
because of this throughout the year
27 times greater
than what is it throughout the
matal Ramadan as all the blessings
are amplified. So I assure
my dear brothers and sisters that you are connecting
with everyone, your community, you're connecting
with Allah, you're building a relationship with
Allah as we prepare for this beautiful
Maturam, my brothers and sisters.
We must take the inspiration from the Quran
and the sunnah of
our beloved Prophet of Allah Allah
Allah a lai-u-Salam, making sure that we have
clear and sincere intentions
increasing our acts of worship
and preparing our hearts
we can enter the beautiful
mother Ramadan with a beautiful
and with devotion and gratitude
to Allah Safanao'u'u'u'u'a to grant us the ability
to make the most of the mother Ramadan
forgive us for our sins and accept our prayers
and Iqlidu da'an. Al-hambhala'u'a'a'aim.
And al-a-a-a-a-a-a-homat-a-a-a-a-a-a-sala'a-a-sala'a.
Salaat al-a-a-a-a-salaat al-a-Rabreb is coming in soon.
Thank you.
