My name Allah,
Mahmah, al-Humdhawalilah,
Al-Hawrubilah,
al-Rasulah,
and al-Alih
and Aalihlihi,
and sahabi
and wala.
Al-Ais
and Aukmati-ilah
and Bracatu.
My dear brothers and sisters,
the beautiful and blessed
Mata Ramadan
is coming up.
We've talked about this
in many talks now so far.
I cannot.
And when I mean I cannot,
I'm saying it in a positive way,
my dear brothers and sisters,
I cannot explain the importance
of the Mata Ramada
as much as I have and as much as I can.
I have only explained it 1% so far.
And I want to go on deeper to that, my Durban's and sisters.
Yes, the Matar Ramadan is coming.
But are you truly ready?
You have waited around for how long?
How long has it been since you saw a Ramadan?
Madur brothers and sisters, the most important thing in our lives right now
is getting ready for the Maturamadan.
We are going to make mistakes throughout the year
We have made mistakes throughout the year
The Motta Ramadan is not just a time for fasting
and from abstaining from food and drink
But rather is a time for focusing on our relationship
With Allah Safanahua D'Ala
Because throughout the year we might not have focused
On that relationship with Allah
And among another one of the most important things
In the Madur Ramadan
Is ensuring that we are connecting with his book
Connecting with his book
You know, there's something else I want to mention to this
but inshallah I'll go off of that in a second but when it comes to connecting to the
Quran it's very important Allah safan and Hella says in the Quran
bismmillah rhamman and rhaeim
shafur Ramadan al-lhlan
he unzile for a Quran and
he says
Ramadan is the month in which the Quran was sent down
for which it was revealed, it was sent down as a guide for all of humanity, all of mankind,
not just for the Muslims, not just for those who believe in Allah, but it was sent down for
all of mankind, for what reason?
It was sent down for all of mankind to believe and worship Allah, Sufana'ahu,
My dear brothers and sisters, the most important thing in the month of Ramadan is not what you start,
but it's what you end.
Throughout the year we may have neglected our relationship with Allah,
We may have spent too much time doing things that were displeasing to Allah, Sufanao, and His Allah.
You know, when sometimes when you get back from work, or maybe you had a long day, you want to relax.
What's the best way to relax?
I'll give you the best way to relax.
It's to pray to Hajid.
If you can, and that will be in the morning part after the sleeping hours, to read the Quran, or to pray kiyamulayal, which means that it doesn't require you to have to go to sleep.
you can pray it at that period of time
to make dua
to perform vicar
and most importantly
my dear brothers and sisters
most importantly
seeking the forgiveness of Allah
suhpana huaata
my brothers and sisters
on our day-to-day lives we get so caught up
with the entertainment of the daily lives
of our lives we get caught up with the
entertainment of the dunya
but not the entertainment
of the ahrer not the entertainment
of our hearts
what do I mean by the entertainment of the a achila the Quran is not meant for you to be to for it to be read like a book that's supposed to entertain you and when you feel bored you just you know what I'm just going to read the Quran and all right I'll go about it in it is a book in which you live by why do you think Allah supanahua Taba says like I said here
shafro Ramadan al-lavi unzila fi his Quranah du delin that's the main part here he says that the Quran was sent down to
mankind as a guidance. It was sent to all of humanity, all of mankind as a guidance.
A guidance for who? A guidance for those who are mindful of Allah, Sapanarhu, T'a'a.
How does Allah, Sophanu'll start off the Quran?
I'm not speaking about Surt of Bakra. I'm speaking about Surt of Fatiha. He speaks about guidance.
Guidance to what guidance to the straight path? Then in the very next Sura, the second Sura
in the Quran, Allah, Sophano'u'll say what? He says, Dhaliqa,
This is the book.
That is the book in which there is no doubt in it.
It is a guide, Houda, for those who are mindful of Allah,
Sapan or Huata.
My dear brothers and sisters, we are entering the beautiful and blessed mat
Ramadan. Ramadan is not a time in which we wake up early just to work.
It is not a time in which we wake up early to so we can scroll on our social media,
feeds and see some stuff and then be like, okay, you know what, I'm a half my sohoor.
Just before the fasting hours begin.
It is not a time in which we wake up just to be with family.
It is not a time in which we wake up for entertainment.
It is not a time in which we fast and we do these things for no reason, but it is meant to change our lives.
The mat of Ramadan is not meant just to be the 30 days.
Here's so we can seek the forgiveness so we can pray so we can gain closeness to Allah.
and then on the day of Eid, we just throw all of that away.
We say, you know what, forget it.
That was a waste of time.
For the last past Ramadan, Mother Brothers and sisters,
and I don't point the finger at anyone in this room.
I point the finger at myself.
Maybe I have wasted the time in the month of Ramadan,
maybe not doing what I was supposed to be doing.
Maybe working on a project,
maybe doing certain little things
that weren't supposed to be done during the month of Ramadan.
And yes, it is fine.
We don't, I'm saying that there are responsibilities,
that we have as believers and as people that we have to have and we have to have done.
I'm not saying that throughout the mother Ramadan, I don't want you to work anymore.
I am saying, though, throughout that time period, if you are working, prioritize your time.
Work on your relationship with Allah, because you don't know if you're going to see next Ramadan,
just as we didn't know if we were going to see this Ramadan.
When the brothers and sisters, seven days might seem like a lot of time, but it isn't.
we are unprepared
unprepared
to better ourselves
a lot of people
do this thing
and I used to do it as well
where when it comes to food
you want to eat as much as you can
before the month of Ramadan comes in
when it comes to drink
you want to drink as much as you can
before the mother Ramadan comes in
when it comes to playing video games
and entertainment you want to do
all of that before the month of Ramadan comes in
and when the month of Ramadan comes in
you say oh okay I got my
I got my bid in
now I think I'm ready to worship
But no. Why do you think I spoke about it in my talk about a month ago,
I said, we have to change in Sha'ban. That talk was meant for what? We need to change.
We need to channel our nefs. Throughout the year we have done things. We have gone wrong. We have,
you know, sometimes gone astray. Why do you think Allah, Sufano, His Allah says what I said.
This is the month of which the Quran was sitting down as a guidance. It was sent down as a guidance.
know when you go to a place for the first time if you're going there as a tourist there is a
guide with you they're guiding you to different places and here you can go here you can go there
the koran is a guide but it's not meant for several trips it's not just meant for the mother ramadan
it's not just meant for the hijad it's not just meant for these certain times but it's meant for our
everyday lives allah suhanna what's all wants us to change in the matur ramadan so that afterwards we
come out as better people. My dear brothers and sisters, one of the things that is very
emphasized within the Quran is change. It's change. You realize it. One of the things
that is very emphasized in the Quran is change, trying to better ourselves. Why do you think
the Prophet Salah Allah a lehi was said, I was sent to perfect good character? What does that
good character mean? I got a question once not that long ago. Someone was asking,
What does it mean to have good achlach?
I'll give you the example and the answer to it.
What it means to have good achalac
is it means to forgive others who wrong you.
It means to better your relationship with Allah,
not in public, but in private.
Because how many of us, when it comes to we are praying,
we are worshipping Allah,
we only worship our best prayers when we are in public.
The best prayers are actually when you are in private.
Why?
Because you are in seclusion with your Lord.
It is just you and Allah.
There are no other distractions.
You don't have to worry about kids.
You don't have to worry about the Imam is praying too fast or too slow.
You don't have to worry about, oh, you know, I need to go to a certain place here to go pray.
You can pray in the comfort of your home.
When others are sleeping, you are awake, worshipping, talking to, building a relationship with Allah, suhpana, hua-da-a-da-a-da-a.
My dear brothers and sisters, the Mata of Ramadan is a time of dedicating our lives.
And what do I mean by our lives?
What I mean is it is a time of dedicating our lives back to Allah,
not just throughout the Mata of Ramadan, but beyond.
Because yes, we are going to falter throughout the year.
Yes, we are going to stray away from Allah.
It might have happened to me and it might have happened to you.
Why do I say it might have happened?
why do I say I know it does happen to all of us because we are human beings and
Allah suhpana hua Tala has made us to falter and to sin and to make mistakes but
he also made us to come back to him.
Mandela's and sisters the month of Ramadan is fastly approaching we are trying to
finish projects that is good as long as it's for the sake of Allah we're trying to
binge watch that's not good we need to cut that out one of the main important parts of
the month of Ramadan like I ever read or like I just said is
to quit bad habits.
That's the true meaning of the mother Ramadan.
It's not to begin good habits.
It's to quit the bad ones and to stay away from them.
It is to train our nefs, to be among nefs.
It is a time in which we should dedicate all of our ibada to Allah.
Because throughout the year, there are times in which we have this presence.
We have this field that we want to engage in access.
of Iba'a, an act of I abada, could be du'a, it could be d'a, it could be praying
s'a'a and I can go on and on. We do it for others.
My dear brothers and sisters, the month of Ramadan is a time to gain closest to
Allah. It is a time to build our relationship with Allah,
Allah, Sufana, Hewtá'u, it is a time in which as we enter the beautiful
unblessment of Ramadan, we have to set clear intentions, clear nia,
that we are only doing this for Allah. This month only comes around,
once a year. Once. It doesn't come around two times or three times or four times. Once.
And we are fortunate enough, my dear brothers and sisters, inshallah a ta'a if we are allowed,
we are allowed to see this week. We will be fortunate enough to see another Matur Ramadan.
How many of us, my dear brothers and sisters, have not seen this Ramadan?
How many of us are not going to see the Matar Ramadan?
How many of us did not see the last Ramadan?
But if you're watching this and you're sitting here now, I believe you did.
Mother brothers and sisters, may Allah grant those who passed away and did not make it,
did not have the ability to make it to this month of Ramadan, Jinnah, may he forgive them their sins or shortcomings.
And grant him his special mercy not only in this life, but mainly in the next, Madur brothers and sisters.
Among one of the other things I want to mention is throughout the month of Ramadan,
build a connection to dua.
sometimes we only reserve dua for times of distress times of need times in which it may be difficult for us to do anything
maybe it may be we're going through an exam or maybe it maybe we're going through difficulties whatever it is
we only use dua in times of hardship but we have been taught by the the prophet of all
He will sallam used du'as in all circumstances.
Used duas in all circumstances.
You know, there's a beautiful brother in the community who posts,
he posts Omar Suleiman reminders.
And, you know, it's upon Allah,
the thing that he post yesterday
was Omar Suleiman's Ramadan series.
Inshallah, you can go to the community and see what that is about.
It is I, the names that you need
to call upon Allah subanao the names that you need what does that mean and I want to take
what he's saying but I want to bring this up my dear brothers and sisters throughout our lives
we feel distant from Allah throughout our lives we stray away throughout our lives when it comes
to doa like I just mentioned sometimes when we make doa we only say Rabin Allah
one of the names of Allah is Allah yes but there are other names that we have to learn we have to
learn and there is a reward for every name that you learn and there is a reward for if you
know all of the names there is ensuring that we know all of the names of Allah
sufana huta is very important my dear brothers and sisters throughout the matur
not only just learn Quran not only just recite Quran not only just listen to
Quran not only just perform liquor and read and read your sala but ensure that you are
seeking in like the Prophet of Allah a He was Salaam
said seeking knowledge is an obligation upon every Muslim male or female young or old it does not
matter it is an obligation upon every Muslim and we must be willing to be among that obligation
if you do not seek ill is it a sin yes if you have the opportunity to seek ill and you did not
it is a sin
because we have been commanded by
Allah subhano and His Allah
through the Prophet of Allah
Allah al-a-u-Salam
to learn
we don't have to go to
Medina
but if we do
it's best
we don't have to go to online programs
but if we do it's best
we don't have to learn
the sin of the Prophetus Allah
Allah a He was-Slam
and try to memorize it
but if we do it's best
we need to follow it
we need to follow the Prophet of Allah
Allah al-a-u-sahlam
and among one of those things is the syra
I had the last thing I want to say
my brothers and sisters
there was a person who asked me
recently as well
one of my talks they asked me
they said okay so if I
learn the sunnah
of the Prophet of Allah
Allah a-u-Salam
and implemented in my lives
will I get jinnah
if I follow exactly how he was
and I said okay you want to follow
exactly how he was
understand the sara
and follow the Quran
He was known as a walking Quran.
A moving Quran.
He was the Quran.
He followed it.
He followed it.
Whatever the revelation was, whatever the ayah was the whole Quran, he would follow it.
But your brothers and sisters, ensure that this Ramadan, you are trying to better your relationship with Allah.
You are trying to gain closest to Allah.
We ask Allah, Sufana'u, Tallah to grant us the ability to see the matur Ramadan, gain the blessings from it, to continue to guide us on the straight paths, help us to
build a better relationship with him
to quit the bad habits that we may have done
throughout the year and to allow for us
to take the benefits of the mother Ramadan
carry them out into the rest of the year, the rest of
11 months, and inshallah ta'a
we ask Allah to make us among those
who are upon his guidance
his true guidance.
And al-ahua'u'u'llhallam'aamu al-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a
