As Salam, and alaikum and your brothers and sisters, as today marks a new Friday, a new
beginning of our day, a new beginning to our weekend and, inshallah, to our week.
I would like to give us a reminder as we approach the blessed month of Ramadan, as we are
approximately, inshallah, three months away from the month of Ramadan. You know, it is
essential for us as Muslims to prepare ourselves both spiritually and physically for the month
of Ramadan. And Ramadan is not a month, is not just a month of fasting. It is a time for
reflection, growth and deepening our connection with Allah, Supperanah, huazada. And today,
inshallah, I would like to share some key points on how we can prepare ourselves for this
holy month. You know, Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar, and it holds
amidst significance in our faith. And Allah, Sufāda, Hewattala says in the Quran, the month of Ramadan
is that in which was revealed, was revealed in the Quran, a guidance for mankind in clear
proofs of guidance in criteria. So this month is a time when the doors of mercy are wide open,
and the reward for good deeds are multiplied.
It is a chance for us to seek forgiveness,
purify our hearts, and strengthen our relationship
with our creator, Allah, Suhanna and Allah.
You know, as we prefer for Ramadan,
we should start increasing our acts of worship.
You know, this includes performing additional prayers,
reading the Quran, and engaging in vikr.
You know, remember, so Allah, and as the Prophet of Allah a
a al-a-u-salam said,
he who recites the Quran in a period less than three days does not understand it.
So therefore, let us set a goal to read and reflect on the Quran daily.
You know, in Ramadan is a time when our supplications are more likely to be accepted.
You know, and I'm doing a paper right now.
And that is winter, a believer season.
And this is going through realizing that winter is not a.
saddening season. It's not a season in which we just go outside to look at the snow and do these
things and look at the creation of Allah, Supranahua'u'a. It is a time of increased worship and a time
of increased du'a. Realizing this is a time of increased du'a. So making dua. So we should
make dua for ourselves, our family, and the entire umma, and ask Allah supranahua'u'u'a to grant us
the strength to fast, to pray, and be among those who are forgiven during this blessed month.
I'm sorry.
I had to readjust my stance.
Ramadan is a month of mercy and forgiveness.
We should take this opportunity to seek forgiveness for our past sins and strive to forgive others.
The act of forgiving not only purifies our heart but also brings us closer to Allah subhanna
as we read in the Quran and let not those of virtue among you and wealth.
swear not to give to their new relatives and the needy and those who have fled for the cause of Allah
supanhu, et al-a-da-a-da-a-da.
So, you know, there are multiple preparations that we must recognize in advance.
And, you know, spiritual ones, as we just talked about, are most important, you know, making sure that we are seeking forgiveness,
making sure that we are increasing our Ibad, making sure that we are making dua,
making sure that we are seeking forgiveness.
And physical preparation includes adjusting your eating habits.
You know, as we prepare for Ramadan, it is wise to gradually adjust our eating habits.
You know, sometimes we eat a whole bunch throughout the year.
And it's good for us to start reducing your intake of heavy meals and sugary foods.
This will help your body adapt to the fasting schedule, especially like if you incorporate more fruits and vegetables.
and whole grains into your diet to ensure you're nourished and energized.
Another one is staying hydrated, which hydration is crucial, especially during this month.
You know, especially during the long fasting hours and supon a law right now where we
would be considered in the shorter fasting hours, but begin drinking more water because
sometimes, you know, we drink tea, we drink soda, you know, these things may have a little
bit of water and it is best to drink water as it is good for you.
and avoid
you know
caffeinated drinks
and they can really
dehydrate you if you drink that a lot
another thing is planning your
schedule you know Ramadan can be a busy
time with prayer, family gatherings
and community events
focusing on your extra
ibada making more doa
seeking of forgiveness all these things
so planning a daily schedule
to include time for your
Salah your Quran recitation
and your reflection
will absolutely help you stay organized and focus on your spiritual goals.
Connecting with your community is very important.
As Ramadan is a time for unity and togetherness,
engaging with your local community by participating in Iftar gatherings,
volunteering, and supporting those in need.
As a prophet of Allah,
Allah, a lai al-a-u-slam, emphasized the importance of community,
saying the believers in their mutual kindness,
and compassion and sympathy are like one body.
You know, sharing the teachings of Ramadan with your family and your friends,
encourage discussions about the significance of fasting,
the importance of prayer, and the virtues of charity,
especially with your younger kids.
You know, sometimes they don't really get the point of fasting,
and that's fine because they're younger.
They're not supposed to get it.
You know, if they eat all your food, that's fine.
But ensuring that we are still teaching them at a young age so that,
inshallah, when they grow older,
they will be able to participate in this month and gain their true benefits from it.
So my brothers and sisters, as we prepare for the month Ramadan, let us remember that this
month is a gift from Allah, Suhphanah, His Allah.
It is an opportunity for us to renew our faith, seek forgiveness, and grow closer to our creator.
May Allah, saupanao'u'u'u'a grant us the strength to make the most of this month
accept our fast and prayers and forget our sins.
We also ask Allah to Allah saitha Allah to grant us the ability to make us the strength to make us the most of this month,
make it to this month, we ask Allah,
to forgive us for our sins or our shortcomings
and grant us His mercy not only in this life,
but mainly in the next.
Amen.
And I'll hear of the D'Awanu.
