Assalamu alaqumatulah
and your brothers and sisters.
I apologize for starting this
Juma talk so late.
And, you know, there were personal reasons
and why, you know, we're having
this Juma talk at this time.
But I ask Allah Safanahua
to accept it from us and to
bless us all. I mean.
My dear brothers and sisters,
today is the 27th of
Rajab as we're moving on
after Maghrib to the
28th. Many brothers and sisters, the Rajab, and you know,
this is kind of late to be doing this talk, but sapan Allah, you know,
better late than you know not doing it period. But you know,
Rajab is a beautiful month as it has a very important place within our hearts as
Muslims. And among the month of Rajab is when we have been told and
taught by the Prophet of Allah a.m. Not to sin, not to fight,
to try our hardest to repent, seek forgiveness from Allah, to ensure that, you know, we are learning more,
we are reciting more, and we are trying to better ourselves throughout this month.
The month of Rajab is an important time for us as believers as well, for us to pray to Haddad.
As we've talked about before, a month ago, I talked about a winter believer season.
And within that period, we've been taught that Rajab is a point in which it is called
the fasting believer.
It's called the fasting season if you want to.
And the reason why is because
Rajab is a time
before Sha'ban and then it will be
Ramadan. Rajab is a time in which
you should be engaging and slowly
starting to fast, starting to weed out
the things that you normally eat,
eating less, trying to
ensure that you are preparing
yourself spiritually because the eating
portion of Ramadan is not the
main portion. The main portion is ensuring
that we are working on ourselves,
bettering ourselves and ensuring that we are trying to become better people for Ramadan and beyond, right?
So that we are ensuring that all the work that we put in for the beautiful month of Ramadan is not just for that month, but it's for that month and after.
And among the things that I want to talk about tonight, my dear brothers and sisters, is that when it comes to fasting, ensure that you are starting now.
Because first of all, the days are shorter.
before the time moves back, ensure that you are fasting as much as you can.
Because the time being where it is right now, with Fajar, for me, being at 6 o'clock,
and Iamagreb being at 5 o'clock, you only have about a, what, 13-hour day, or actually an 11-hour day, so,
the reasoning why you want to start fasting here is not because the days are shorter,
but because the reward is further amplified as well.
As an authentic hadith, the Prophet of Allah a Allah a Huala al-a-u-salam says that fasting in the winter has a great reward from Allah-Suphanah-h-a-a-a-a-a-and the question is, what is that reward?
Only Allah knows.
Because just as we can go through and compile hadith together to see what the reward could be, and this various scholars say that it could be, you know, seven times or ten times or multiple times after that.
But the truth is only Allah-Supana-Hu-Tal-Nus.
So, insh-a-ta-a-a-ha, we're going to leave it at that.
but the truth is my dear brothers and sisters that the month of Ramadan is coming up now is the time to start cleansing our heart now was the time to start cleansing our mind now is the time to start cleansing our diet because as well as the month of Ramadan is coming through we want to ensure that we are prepared for that month and one of the things I like to emphasize my dear brothers and sisters in ensuring that throughout the month of Ramadan we are remembering those who are less
fortunate to us. This is why
especially we think about the things that are
happening in Palestine or
Gaza with the floods, with the cold
weather there, with the things that are
happening. Make our megdua for our brothers and sisters.
We ask Allah, Sufana and Hei'u'll like to ease
their pain. I mean, we ask
Allah, to grant their victory
to forgive them or to forgive them of
their sins and our shortcomings and grant
for Allah, for Allah,
to grant them his special mercy,
to grant them his special
mercy, not only in this life, but mainly in
the next. When their brothers and sisters, the thing that is most important about fasting, especially
in this month of Rajab, is ensuring that we are preparing ourselves. And I know I've said this a couple
of times now. But preparing ourselves is very important. And there's also something else in which
the Prophet of Allah Allah al-a-Hu-Salam highlighted in authentic hadith in which you spoke about forgiveness.
He said that in the month of Rajab, your sins are heightened for forgiveness, right? Your faith,
forgiveness of your sins is heightened.
So ensure that you're seeking the forgiveness of
Allah. And one of the reasons why
is because Rajab is among the four
sacred months in Islam.
So my dear brothers and sisters,
ensure you're seeking Allah's mercy, ensure
you're seeking his forgiveness. As Allah
said in the Quran, he says,
He says,
He'll, yeah, imaidi,
who isvraffo
on anfutim,
not takanatu
from Rhmet
Allah,
not takanatou
Rhym
Allah
do nubh
jim
Allah hafurur
Rahim.
He's saying
that do not despair
in the mercy of
Allah.
You know,
Allah,
Sufana
His Allah is always
with you.
Allah,
Allah,
will always
forgive you
no matter what you
do, right?
He's saying here
in this
Sura,
in this ayah
particularly that Allah suprana
who isahua Tala will forgive you of your sins as long as
you hope in me as long as you instill hope in me
right because sometimes we hope in Allah yes we
we will know that okay we made a mistake
because just like in the authentic hadith in which the
Prophet of Allah alexandam spoke about those who sin
he said that everyone is a sinner
every son of Adam will sin right
because it's a natural part of our life
Allah supaniahu atada created us to sin
and to repent back to him
so Allah suhpanahu at
is reminding us in this ayah, return back to me.
Repent, do not lose hope in that repentance.
Never lose hope because sometimes we feel as though our repentance is not sincere enough.
And the most important part is our intention.
So intending to gain the true mercy and forgiveness of Allah,
Siphanahua is what will gain us that mercy and forgiveness.
So my dear brothers and sisters, ensuring that no matter what we do in our lives,
we are ensuring that we are seeking Allah's forgiveness,
We are ensuring that we are, you know, seeking his mercy, try to become better with it.
So my dear brothers and sisters, anything that we do within our lives, we must remember that
Allah, Suhphanah, is there for us.
And as I said, inshawahua-ta-la, next year I'll be more prepared for Rajab, inshallah,
I pray Allah allows for us to see it.
I mean, I'll be more prepared for Rajab because I'll know that, inshallah is coming.
And I'll know that it's probably good to do with talk at the beginning of Rajah, probably, you know,
if, you know, next year, inshallahada, a Friday is on the first, or, you know, even before
Rajab actually comes in, it will be speaking about it so that we can gain the most benefit,
you know, especially to those who do not know.
So, yeah, but, you know, it's a beautiful month, my dear brothers and sisters.
It's a beautiful time for us to gain connection to Allah.
And one of the beautiful aspects, which is the last thing, inshallah, I'm going to say before we pray,
that one of the beautiful aspects of this beautiful month is reflection.
Reflection on ourselves.
We are heading into the month of Ramadan.
We have goals.
We have aspirations.
This is the time to make them.
This is the time to reflect.
The reason why is because I want you to reflect upon the sins that you have committed.
I want you to reflect upon the things that you might have done wrong or the things that you need to do better at.
I want you to reflect upon how you can become better.
Period.
I don't want to say how you can become better at the Quran, how you can become better at anything.
because everything in this
Dunya, everything in our lives
as believers can be better. It's not just
our achalach, but it's also our heart,
right? It's also our soul.
Ensuring that we're cleansing it before this month of Ramadan
comes in. We ask Allah,
to forgive us for our sins, our shortcomings
to regret us his special mercy, not only in this life,
but mainly in the next.
We're acho du la'a'u'll beaulah,
