Sheikh Uthman Hadi - The Tawbah Allah Loves | A Journey to the Divine - Ep. 25

Episode Date: March 15, 2026

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. As we gather in this blessed month of Ramadan, a time of reflection and spiritual rejuvenation, I want to discuss a profound and essential topic: "The Ta...wbah Allah Loves." Tawbah, or repentance, is a fundamental aspect of our relationship with Allah. It is a means of seeking forgiveness for our sins and returning to the path of righteousness. In this talk, we will explore how to seek true, sincere forgiveness, connect the names of Allah with our Tawbah, and understand how to recognize if our repentance has been accepted, especially during these last five nights of Ramadan.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/sheikh-uthman-hadi--6689369/support.https://sheikhuthmanhadi.beam.lyhttps://open.spotify.com/user/315hadqmwxllibu6ubi5us2cbn2y?si=572b4d8898284e9ehttps://open.spotify.com/show/3MQHfrpjj3XXcqoPbN5Dl8?si=v6YQ42kpSx-VONBFhT3CzA

Starting point is 00:00:09 Bismillah, Ruhman, and aahim, alhavalli, and al-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-aaaaa a-aaaaa and a a-aaaaidae, and al-aaidae. I pray that everyone is doing well, and I ask Allah, subhahua-a-a-a-to-heas for our sins of our showcomings and the various and special mercy, and only in this life, remaining in the next. My brothers and sisters,
Starting point is 00:00:29 a-h-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a to accept our fast from us, to accept our efforts from us today, and mainly to accept our Ramadan from us and to allow for our Ramadan to be validated. And it's something that we spoke about earlier, which comes to our toba. But I wanted to go deeper onto that and the toba that Allah, Suhahana-ho-Tal loves. And this actually is going to be more of a deeper type of talk because we've spoken about tobara before, right? We've spoken about forgiveness before. But this time I want to go a little deeper into understanding it, into the spiritual rejuvenation, the rejuvenation it has with us,
Starting point is 00:01:01 and as it is a fundamental aspect of our relationship with Allah. And I also want to go into the path of righteousness and how Toba is a means of seeking forgiveness and is a means of returning to the path of righteousness and a path of going back to Allah, Sufana, Hu'u'u'u'u'u'a to accept our curse from us. And we ask Allah to, Allah, sa'u'u'a'a to, inshallah, after this, accept our purpose from us, I mean. So the first thing I want to speak about is Toba, understanding it, right?
Starting point is 00:01:30 So we've spoken about this earlier, but understanding toab as I mentioned earlier, it's not merely just a verbal expression of regret. But rather it is a sincere and comprehensive process that involves the tongue, the heart, and the limbs. Which is why Allah, Sufana, He mentions in the Quran, if you did not hear me or recite it earlier, I would say it again, he said, will, yeah, ibadi, who yasur al-a-an-a-an-a-a-a-a-channatu Allah, laearnatou
Starting point is 00:01:55 by Rhaugh in allah, Godhru-Raheem. He says, O my servants who have wronged your own souls by your own actions. Do not despair of the mercy
Starting point is 00:02:04 of Allah, for indeed, Allah, Sufana, Allah, forgives all sins. Indeed, it is he who is the most forgiving, the most merciful. So the first thing
Starting point is 00:02:13 when it comes to this is that I want to mention four main steps to this. When it comes to seeking true sincere tobba. And among the first step is sincere remorse or sincere regret for that sin that we committed or for the sins that we have committed, which is why the first step is having that genuine remorse for the sins that we have committed and that remorse should stem from the realization
Starting point is 00:02:35 that we have disobeyed Allah, who has bestowed upon us countless blessings, including the blessings of seeing this far into the month of Ramadan, which is why the Prophet of Allah a. Allah, al-a-u-Sallam said, regret is repentance. Why? Or regret leads to repentance. Why? Because when you have that regret, the regret makes you feel wrong, right? And you know, sometimes if you make a mistake at work or something and then, you know, your boss gets upset at you and you're like, man, I really feel bad. I did that thing. It makes you want to improve, right? If you were like, you're supposed to write a paper and just bringing this after school, let's say you're in college and you're supposed to write a paper, an essay and you didn't write a writer, or you missed this or you missed that. You regret those mistakes you made in that paper because you wanted it to be perfect. right but when you regretted those mistakes that you made it pushed you to come better it pushed you to become better which is why in this authentic hadith of the prophet sloh a a leo sullum said regret is repentance so this indicates that feeling regret is a very crucial component of toba and the second thing is actually you know um trying to immediately stop the sinful behavior as when it comes to continuing the sin while seeking forgiveness is actually
Starting point is 00:03:46 contradictory right it's it's not working you're committing the sin and you're seeking forgiveness you're committing the sin and you're seeking the forgiveness which is why Allah suhpano what a while Allah sa isa pao hu ta'a says and those who do not invoke with Allah another deity or kill the soul which Allah has
Starting point is 00:04:00 forbidden and whoever should do that will meet a penalty right so here Allah suhpanihu utah emphasizes the importance of abandoning a sin in order to actually have sincere taub or sincere
Starting point is 00:04:16 repentance and the The step that's very important as well is a firm resolution, is the firm promise not to return to that sin. So when it comes to your intention, right, the sincere intention, the sincere need, which we've spoken about a lot lately, that is to never return to the sin is very essential. And this resolution or this promise that we make should be made with a heart full of hope in Allah, Sufano, His mercy. Which is why the Prophet of Allah, Allah, a He was said, whoever repents before the sun rises from the west, Allah will accept his repentance. So this hadith highlights the importance of having a firm intention to change. And the final one I want to mention here with the step is actually engaging in good deeds as a replacement of that.
Starting point is 00:04:59 So after you repent, you should occupy yourself with good deeds. And Allah supranahua'u'u-tada says, and establish prayer and gives a cat and obey the messenger, that you may receive mercy. So ensuring that you're also engaging in acts of ibada and kindness as they help to purify your heart and your soul. and they also help to reinforce your commitment to righteousness and to stopping that sin that you committed. This is something else we have not mentioned here like that, really. I think in this, when we've done, talks about forgiveness and seeking toba, is I want to mention specifically four beautiful names of Allah, Safana and Her Wata.
Starting point is 00:05:33 And the attributes according to that when it comes to seeking Tobah. So I want us all to connect with these names, especially in these last ten nights, inshallah, after this talk when we make our duas maybe or, you know, where our prayers making duas, even when we go back home and it's just us, Make sure you're trying to connect to Allah, so, and the four names I want to mention here is among the first one,
Starting point is 00:05:53 Al-Ghafuor, the most forgiving. So Allah, Sufano-No-T-A-A-A-A-A-A-Same, this name specifically reminds us that Allah's mercy encompasses all sins. And for someone to think that your mercy is actually beyond Allah-Supana-Hu-T-A-A-A-A-A-S-A-A-S-A-A-Rsa-A-A-S-A-A-Rsey, actually is among the wrongdoers.
Starting point is 00:06:11 This is actually a hadith. I'm not going to mention the hadith, but it's actually a hadith, that if someone is someone, someone boasts about their sins that they've committed and they think that their sins outweigh Allah's mercy, then they are among the wrongdoers. Because Allah, Sufana Huitala has written on his throne above his throne that my mercy prevails my wrath and also that his mercy is infinite and he's only bestowed upon us one percent of that mercy. So trying to ensure that you're also are trying to seek
Starting point is 00:06:38 Tauba and realize that there is no sin that is greater than Allah, Sufana without mercy, as we should invoke this name acknowledging his boundless mercy. The second name I want to mention here, which comes to mercy, is Arrahman. The most merciful. So reflecting upon Allah, supranautil mercy can instill hope in our hearts like Ayah just wrote. Do not despair in the mercy of Allah, have hope in the mercy of Allah. So no matter how far we have strayed, his mercy is always greater than our sins. The third name I want to mention is at Tawab, which is the ever-accepting of our repentance. So this name specifically signifies that Allah is always ready to accept our to-a from us, even if we might not be ready completely ourselves.
Starting point is 00:07:18 He's always ready. He's always there, ready to accept our to-a-tobah from us. And we should always turn back to him. And when we turn back to him, we should call upon him with this specific name, knowing that he is awaiting our return, especially if he's granted us the ability to see another day. He's waiting for us to return back to him. He's granted us the month of Ramadan as a time to seek repentance.
Starting point is 00:07:39 He's waiting for us to return to him. Because if Allah's upon our hitha-hah wanted to, he could have punished us already for the sins that we have committed. But instead, he's a towab and he waits. He is the ever-acceptant, the ever-accepting of our repentance, and he's waiting for our repentance, which is why we should hasten our repentance. And it also gets me to the dua in which we make at night,
Starting point is 00:07:57 which comes to the fourth name. We say, Allahoam, Enniqa-A-Fo-Wan, means the partner. Afo-wan to chibu'al-a-faf-a-fa-fou-a-a-a-o-a-o-a-o-a-o-a-o-o-a. O Allah, you are the most forgiving, you love to forgive, or you are the, you are in-de, are the most forgiving, you love to pardon. So please pardon me or please forgive me. When it comes to Afu, this name actually emphasizes the ability. And it emphasizes
Starting point is 00:08:22 Allah's upon our ability to not only forgive us, but to erase our sins entirely, not only from the angels bank, but also from our scales, right? And what I mean by the angels bank is the book, right? I should have said a book. I think I said bank, sorry, but the angels book, right, the book that we have. Because even at a certain point, if we seek sincere tobba, Allah, suhphano,
Starting point is 00:08:46 He will erase that from our books as well. So when you think about these four names, Al-Ghafour, al-rahman, at towaab, and al-A-Fu. These are the most forgiving, the most merciful,
Starting point is 00:09:02 the ever-accepting of our repentance and the partner. So when you recognize these names, it becomes easier for you to call upon Allah, with true hope and sincerity because you know Allah's upon us the most forgiving he is the most merciful he is a tauwap he is the ever accepting of our repentance
Starting point is 00:09:18 and he is al-a-fou he is the partner so as we continue as we approach the last tonights or we approach or continue on so I say throughout the last five nights of Ramadan it's crucial for us to understand how to recognize if our toba was actually accepted and if it has been accepted
Starting point is 00:09:34 there are four signs that I want to mention and I think I mentioned them earlier from that mistake I did actually but the four signs first is increasing good deeds, one of the clearest of signs of acceptance of toba is a newfound commitment to our good deeds. So if you find yourself more inclined to prayer, to giving the charity, to engaging in acts of kindness, to making more dua, performing more thicker, praying your prayers on time. Doing these things is actually a sign that Allah Sufana huaata has accepted your tobba. Another one is the feeling of peace and contentment. So after you complete your sincere
Starting point is 00:10:06 toba, a believer often experiences a sense of peace and tranquility in their heart. This is actually a sign that Allah, Sufana'u'llu'u'u'u'a's mercy, and it's actually a sign that Allah supranahahah has accepted your tobba, and it's a sign of Allah's mercy and his forgiveness. And finally is, sorry, the actual third one I meant to mention here, the third one is the distance from your sin. So now if you have made your tobah and you feel as though you've distanced yourself from that sin that you repented from and you have no desire to even return to it, this is a strong
Starting point is 00:10:39 indication that your toba has actually been accepted by Allah. And the final, fourth and final one, I was kind of given to the final one before I mentioned a third, but the final one is the desire for continuous improvement. So an accepted tobha often leads to a desire for continuous self-improvement and a deeper connection with Allah. So you might find yourself seeking knowledge, seeking ill, engaging in Ibadah and striving to become a better person. So my dear brothers and so-sha-s-souba is a very profound act of ibadah that allows for us to reconnect with Allah and seek his forgiveness. As we continue to navigate throughout these last nights of Ramadan, and especially the last four or five nights, inshallah of Ramadan,
Starting point is 00:11:15 we must strive for true, sincere toba by feeling remorse, seizing sinful behaviors, making firm resolutions and engaging in good deeds. So my brothers and sisters, ensure that you are trying to invoke these beautiful names of Allah throughout your duas, reminding yourself of his mercy and his forgiveness and his pardoning and ever-accepted. of our repentance. We ask Allah upon her without
Starting point is 00:11:37 to accept our to but from us to forgive us for our sins, our show comes and guide us on the straight path. We're actually for coming out here
Starting point is 00:11:44 again, my de brothers and sisters, inshallah we'll be moving over to a new episode tomorrow. And afterulah alhamsalha
Starting point is 00:11:50 and alhamsalha and alaamu ala and alaqmatelah and Abakathe and brothers and you who have men
Starting point is 00:11:56 amanu kutu ala kutbaa al-is k'am k'am got up to be all the other than
Starting point is 00:12:01 from kovolikum before you that's t'estakou
