Starting point is 00:00:00 Bismillah, Rihman, and al-hameh, allah, Rabeh, Rabeh, Allaheim, and Salathe, and al-Aisulah, and allaheh, and Hishabi, Ajamu, Ais and Aishe, and Aishe, and Aishe, and Aishtalai, and your brothers and sisters, and I ask Allah, Sapanu, and Heiqa, and God,
Starting point is 00:00:16 for our sins, or our showcomings, it grotes, and special mercy, not only in this life remaining in the next. But your brothers and sisters, al-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-mean, we've done a talk similar to this before, which just happened to be, not in this, not what this
Starting point is 00:00:30 talk is specifically going to be about, but specifically the format in which we did the talk. We did a talk specifically not that long ago, Ramadan and Beyond Episode 1, a reminder one, which that one specifically was more about trying your absolute hardest to continue the good habits that you did during Ramadan, beyond Ramadan, and inshallah, we may see more forms of these type talks similar to this, inshallah, soon, maybe in the future. But to stay in the present moment right now, I want to address a question to all of us, especially after we have end of Ramadan and, you know, a hamdulillah, we have gone on about, you know, our lives.
Starting point is 00:01:05 And, inshallah, we are almost halfway through shawal. I want to ask you the question of, what are you willing to sacrifice for Allah, Sufana, and hoi-hattah? And honestly, I never did this talk in the past, but before when I originally started doing these talks, I ended up writing this talk to be done, and it stayed in my, you know, I know, I know this is my docs for a long time.
Starting point is 00:01:25 And now I'm just coming back to it, except it's been simplified and it's been re-rewritten. written and it's you know inshallah been bettered as well from what it was but to go into this I want to start off with the Quranic ayah to start off and the first is that when Allah supanahua jada says indeed Allah has purchased from the believers their lives and their property for they will have paradise right and this is in specifically and this in this verse actually the verse specifically highlights that the true believers are those who are willing to give up their worldly possessions and their materialistic possessions for the sake of
Starting point is 00:02:02 of Allah even if they're even if you know it is worth their lives because when it comes to this ayah if you look at it Allah supranah huazada says in this ayah indeed Allah has purchased from the believers their lives so even if something were to cost you your whole life you do it for Allah Allah owns your life and he is the giver of life and he is the giver of death as well now when it comes to this, I want to mention how sacrifice can take many forms. Many of us think sacrifice as in animals. Many of us think sacrifice as in, you know, maybe food when it comes to Ramadan or it comes to fasting, which, al-a-da-la, today, I believe most of us, inshallah, some of us shall be fasting, inshally, I know I am fasting. But when it comes to that sacrifice, don't just look at it
Starting point is 00:02:47 as it's just food or it's just animals. And when it comes to that, sacrifice takes many different turns, right? Sacrifice comes in different forms. It comes in wealth. It comes in comfort. And it even comes in our desires for the sake of Allah, supranahua. And it comes for those sins that we commit as well. Sometimes we have to sacrifice those sins to gain closeness to Allah, sometimes we have to sacrifice those routines that might be disobeying Allah in order to gain closeness to Allah. So there are multiple things of sacrifice. But what I do want to mention as well is how we think about Prophet Ibrahim al-A-Sahem. And how he had to sacrifice his sons. son for the sake of Allah, Sufana-ho-Talha, right?
Starting point is 00:03:25 And it's not an easy thing to do. We think about it like, oh, it's such an easy thing to do. But when you have to sacrifice for somebody, you have to sacrifice for Allah, suhfana-ho-ta-a-la, is a different level of remembering Allah. It's a different level of willing to sacrifice for Allah, suhaphaanahu-tala. And when it comes to this, I wanted to mention as well when it comes to this part, what is one of the main, you know, essential lessons that we derive from the story of Prophet Abraham a Dehisadam, and that is his willingness to obey whatever Allah
Starting point is 00:03:56 Sufana huazata said. What is that called? Here, you obey. We are here and we obey. You don't hear and then you try to clarify and then you want to go through your reasoning. You hear and you obey. Whatever Allah, Sufanao'Huizata has told you to do, you do. And whatever you don't do, you don't do.
Starting point is 00:04:13 You stay away from. So this is also where it comes to the beautiful and beautified point of the Stura and specifically of the story of Ibrahim al-Heh-Saham. And when it comes to the Prophet of Allah, ari-Ale-Hu-Salam, I want to mention that as well. He faced immense challenges and sacrifices in spreading the message of Islam, right? And he endured persecution, loss, and hardship,
Starting point is 00:04:37 yet he still remains steadfast in his mission for the sake of Allah, Sufana, and Hu-Atada. He was willing to sacrifice his own comfort of home, his own comfort of family, because he wanted to do it for the sake of Allah, sufani and he was willing to do it for the sake of Allah sufana huaata and not for anyone else. And honestly, this story, and when we think of the stories of the Prophet of Allah, Heu's and the way in which he lived his life and the things that he went through,
Starting point is 00:05:03 it actually reminds us of the importance of sacrifice in our own lives, and it illustrates that true sacrifice often comes with trials and tribulations, which is why Allah suhpaniahuata speaks about our hardships and trials in the Quran, which she says verily with hardship comes ease, right? So when it comes here to this point, my dear brothers and sisters, a lot of sacrifice has to be taken and not to gain yourself too uncomfortable in this dunya, which is one of the topics in which I wanted to speak about, inshallah, today as well, is trying your absolute hardest to not be too consumed by this dunya and by your daily routines. But rather to consume yourself with the importance of the remembering Allah, Safanahua'u'll and remembrance of Allah, and gaining more closeness to Allah, which is very beautified as well. Now, I want to go into another part of this talk here, which is our personal sacrifices. And this is something I wanted to speak about more deeply today.
Starting point is 00:05:53 Because a lot of us, you know, we say, oh, what are we willing to sacrifice for? Are we willing to sacrifice, you know, our time to worship Allah? We're willing to do this. But honestly, one of the, you know, biggest sacrifices we have to make is our own desires and our own, you know, nefts as well. Because a lot of us have the desire to do something and we want to do it, right? And we obey that desire. but we don't obey what Allah's upon or Huatata has told us to do. And when it comes to this point, I want you to look at, yes,
Starting point is 00:06:21 are you willing to engage in acts of abada, such as prayer, such as charity, such as reading the Quran, helping those in need? Are you willing to sacrifice your wealth by giving in charity to those who are less fortunate than you? Right? That's a very great question. Those are very great questions to ask yourself. But the main question I want to ask yourself, I want you to ask yourself, including myself, is are you willing to give up the desire, to give up that sin, to give up what
Starting point is 00:06:44 is taking you away from Allah and whatever is furthering your relationship between you and Allah, whatever is placing a barrier between you and Allah, are you willing to actually give it up? And honestly, it's very easy to get consumed by the daily lives. It's very easy to get consumed by thinking that, you know, you have it better or thinking that, oh, this is, you know, I, I know that this is, this is a hard desire to get over. I got to just try to figure it out in some type of way. But when it comes to it, I want to also mention the biggest part of all of this, the reward. A lot of us think about the reward of sacrifice, right? And what is the reward of sacrifice? The reward of sacrifices what Allah, Sufanao'u'u'u'u'u'a mentioned in the Quran in which he said and do not think that
Starting point is 00:07:26 your properties and your children are a trial and that Allah is not aware of what you do. So Allah is upon a hua Tala clearly is going to reward you for whatever it is that you do. If you give up the sin for his sake, he rewards you for giving up that sin for staying away from it. And guess what? The reward is not just going to be in that moment and that's it. It will be after that as well for the time that you stay away from it because we are going to be tested with sin from the moment we can discern between right and wrong until we return back to Allah Safahahua Hualtah to grant us a blessed death and a death that is pleasing to him and a death that is pleasing to him. And a death that is pleasing to him and a death that is pleasing to him. And also we ask Allah suhaphanahua to grant us the ability to return to him in a state that is impurity and that's pleasing to him as well. But what I also want to mention as well is when it comes to our deeds, even if you're only sacrificing little amounts here,
Starting point is 00:08:14 here and there. It doesn't have to be big lump sum amounts. As long as it's something small that you are sacrificing for Allah Sufāna, Hewatra, then that is good enough, and you want to continue progressing upon that. Which is why I want to, you know, go a little deeper into the Hadith in which the Prophet of Allah ari-a-a-a-hli-u-sadlam said that the most beloved deeds to Allah are those done consistently, even if they're small, even if they're few. So even if you're only doing a few good deeds here and there, you're still gaining good reward from Allah, Sufana-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-and-a-a-and-a. And even if only, you know, you only, you only gave up one little thing that you were doing. Allah's upon our Huitah will still reward that more than what you gave up. So this is also where it brings me to a very interesting point.
Starting point is 00:08:53 I spoke about this before in our series, in both series, actually, three series. I believe if I'm not mistaken. I'm sorry, I keep end up adding it out to the number. But I spoke about it in turning back to Allah, Sufana Huitana. I spoke about it in Reavit yourself as Ramadan, and I spoke about it in adrian to the divine. I don't believe I spoke about it in seeking leads with Qatar, but this is all during Ramadan. But it was when it comes to turning back to Allah. You probably heard me mention this before.
Starting point is 00:09:14 When it comes to time you back to Allah, it's not always through your repentance, but sometimes it's through quitting that which brings you away from Allah, Sufana'u'u'u'hata. And when it comes to, you know, that which brings us away from Allah, subana hua utada, that is sacrifice. You're gaining reward through that sacrifice because you're sacrificing your money, your wealth for Allah. You're sacrificing your time for Allah. You're sacrificing your desires for Allah. And you're saying, only Allah deserves to be the one who is one who is willing.
Starting point is 00:09:43 willing of everything, right? Because he gave me everything, and to everything belongs to him. So when it comes to this, I want you to think about how even the slightest and smallest of sacrifices that you make, whether that is quitting something that was bringing you away from Allah, whether that was quitting something that was provoking a sin or anything like that, you're still gaining rewards as long as it is done with sincerity as it is held with great value in the eyes of Allah, suhpani-a-u-u-wa-a-wa-a-a-a-ha-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a. And when it comes to those challenges that are, you know, that, you know, it's natural for us to feel hesitant or to, you know, fear when it comes to quitting these things, right?
Starting point is 00:10:23 Some of us are like, man, how am I going to live without this certain thing? How am I going to do this? How am I going to give this much money? I have to give, you know, my Zakads. I have to give my EZepidah. I have to give this. I have to get that. And it's not about you.
Starting point is 00:10:34 It's about everyone else as well. And it's about your rewards as well that you're gaining. Because think about it. If only you were gaining the rewards, then why would you be doing it? Right? You're doing it for others as well to help Allah. You're helping others in humanity as well and in this Ummah for the sake of Allah. So you're willing to sacrifice your wealth for Allah to help better this Ummma.
Starting point is 00:10:55 When it comes to giving for those in need, you're not saying, oh, well, I'm just going to go ahead and give, you know, so I can gain the rewards. But instead, you're saying I'm going to give for the sake of Allah, suhanna, because this family is in despair. This family is going through hardships and I'm going to give for the sake of Allah, sop. na, because I am willing to sacrifice my wealth, to sacrifice my time, to sacrifice my health and to sacrifice the things that I'm doing for the sake of Allah, Sufanahu, Tada, to better my relationship with Allah, Sufana, whoa Tala, which is why it comes to the fearing and the tukwa, having tukwa of Allah suhpanahu Tala. And when it comes to trusting in his wisdom and his mercy, because Allah, Sapaanao Tala specifically states this in the Quran.
Starting point is 00:11:37 and he says whoever fears Allah, he will make for him a way out. So what does it mean a way out? A way out doesn't always mean an exit, but sometimes it means an entrance. Sometimes you're saying, oh, I'm going through financial desperation. I'm going through this, I'm going through that. Sometimes there's not always going to be a bad thing that you're going through that. Sometimes if you fear Allah, sometimes if you trust in Allah, Sufanahu, His mercy, if you trust in Allah suhpana huaah's wisdom and his heikma and his decree,
Starting point is 00:12:04 then you'll be able to be led to a better situation, know what you're already in. So even when you think about this, my dear brothers and sisters, trying your absolute hardest to embrace the sacrifices that you need to make. You need to make these sacrifices in order for you to be gained, in order for you to gain one of the best of rewards. And one of the last things I want to mention here before we close is, I want you all to reflect upon your own lives, including myself. I want you to reflect upon your life. And I want you to consider what are you willing to sacrifice for Allah? What are you willing? Is it going to be your wealth? Is it going to be your time? Is it going to be your health? Is it going to be your
Starting point is 00:12:39 efforts? Is it going to be your actions? Is it going to be your family? Are you willing to sacrifice your entire lives? What is it going to be? Because some of us even say, I'm not going to sacrifice my comfort. I love being comfortable. I love, you know, being in this dunya. And that's something else that we have to sacrifice if we want to get to the a achara. You have to sacrifice this dunya for the achara. So this is also one of the other things, my dear brothers and sisters and we should also try to prioritize our relationship with Allah, so on our huwita above all other things. And my brothers and sisters also ensure that when it comes to the comfort,
Starting point is 00:13:13 I don't just mean entertainment because like Allah-Safanah mentioned in the Quran, he's given us entertainment, he's testing us with that entertainment. We can use it, but only to a certain amount. So even if you're still, you know, watching stuff or even if you're still playing games, ensure that that that stuff is halal and sure that it's pleasing to Allah, and that Allah, Sufranahua-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a as well. with you for what you're doing and don't get overly consumed in the dunya. That's what being comfortable means. It doesn't mean that you're sitting in a recliner or you're sitting
Starting point is 00:13:38 in your bed, but it does mean that you're too comfortable in this dunya, that you love this dunya so much, so much so that nothing else matters to you, right? Not even trying to strive for the a achara matters to you. So many brothers and sisters, we ask Allah saffano how to help us to sacrifice for his sake, to grant us the ability to have the strength to remain set fast in our faith and our imman and in this religion. We ask, Allah, Sapanu'll justa to grant us the strength and the determination to make these sacrifices for his sake and accept our efforts from us. And for all of those who are fasting today on the beautiful and blessed day of Thursday, inshallah, before we hit Friday, we'll still be doing our
Starting point is 00:14:14 Juma talk tomorrow. Just let you know, but inshallah, we ask Allah, Sapaan our hotel, to accept our fast from us from us, to forgive us for our sins and our shortcomings and grant us his special mercy, not only in this life and many in the next. And al-a-a-a-a-wa'a-a-a-a-a-a-hāl'a-a-h-a-ha-hae, my dear brothers and sisters for listening. Please forgive me if I said anything wrong. I ask Allah. Sufana and Herodal, so also forgive me. And, inshall, my dearrides and sisters, I'll see you again soon.
Starting point is 00:14:36 Salaamu. Alakamu, and Rahmataa, and ala, and al-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a.
