My brothers and sisters
I would like
to announce
that inshallah
tomorrow
we'll be having
our first
Juma session
and
inshallah tomorrow
we will be having
our Juma
shah allah starting at two o'clock our prayer at two o'clock so please be there have the time
today i want to talk about a concept that has probably going through all of our minds as
believers and that is why does allah subhanna a hua ta a la allow suffering and hardship
and first and foremost i want us to
understand that this life is just a test.
It is a trial and a test.
And Allah,
is upon a hua Tala has created it to be a test.
As he states in the Quran,
do you think that you will enter paradise
while such trial has not yet
come to you as it came to those who passed on before you?
So sort of two, Iyer 214.
Some of their brothers and sisters,
as you think about this verse and how Allah suprana-u-ta-a-la is telling us that trials and tribulations
will be a part of our daily experience, our dunya experience, that in this dunya, there are
challenges that we will face that we will have to go through in order to make it to jinnah.
This path to jinnah is not going to be easy.
And Allah-Suprana-h-ah-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-ta-law test us according to the strength of our faith,
As the Prophet of Allah a Hewaslam explained that the most afflicted among people are the prophets,
followed by those who are similar to them in faith.
And I want to get a point here straight,
that sometimes we think suffering is a bad thing.
But truly, suffering can be a means of purification.
It is through hardship that we often turn back to Allah subhpana hua-sah seeking his guidance and mercy.
And the Prophet of Allah Allah Allah Allaha Hewasalam taught us that the greatness of the reward stems from the greatness of the affliction.
So when Allah loves a people, he tests them.
Therefore, those who endure these trials with patience and faith,
are promised immense rewards in the hereafter.
So additionally, during our daily lives and we look at places like Sudan, we look at places like Yemen,
we look at places like Gaza, Palestine, we look at these places and we think about how this is a tragedy.
We look at this and we say, this is very bad.
But additionally, suffering can also serve as a reminder of our dependence.
dependence on Allah.
In times of hardship,
we are reminded
of vulnerability
and the nature
of this life. And Allah
supranahua-Tal says in the Quran
and we shall make a trial
of you with evil and with good.
And to us, you will be returned.
This is Surah 21,
aya 35.
This verse
shows and
amplifies
good and bad
experiences are part of Allah subhaphanahua's divine plan. There is no such thing as this is a bad
test. There is still such things as a good test. Every test from Allah subhpana huaata is good.
You might think, well, I got something stolen. That's a good test because if your patience was good
enough, you pass that test. You know, you kind of think of it like when you're going through the
driving exam or you're doing school and they are like, all right, you got this question right? That's a point.
all right there you go and now it's like oh you got to all these points that leads to jinnah
when you hit these many points that leads to jinnah and we think about this in our daily lives
and hardship can foster empathy and compassion within us so when we experience suffering we
become more aware of the struggles of others this is exactly why during the month of Ramadan
We should not be focused on food.
We think about those who do not have food, those who do not have a shelter, those who have gone through this.
We think, hey, I'm fasting a 14-hour day or I'm fasting a 10-hour day.
You think that's long.
Imagine someone who hasn't eaten or they haven't drink anything in two weeks or longer.
This is a true trial for them, but it's also a trial for us.
Just as Allah's upon Hoh's Allah has told us that he gives us good as a task.
and he gives us what we say is bad as a test.
Allah,
so upon our hula might give you $1 million,
but that $1 million is a test because if someone got a $1 million,
if any of you in this room right now got a $1 million,
what would you do?
That's a question you have to ask yourself.
Because deep down inside, the truth will be uncovered.
If I give you right now $1 million, what do you think you're going to do?
You're going to go buy a car, a house,
You're going to go buy your own private jets and you're going to go buy this place and that place
and you're going to do this and do that and travel this place.
Or you're going to give that in charity.
Are you going to use that money to get to the hereafter?
We think that tests are just stuff that is just like, oh, I'm poor or, oh, I got my house bombed.
Oh, that's a test.
That is a extreme test.
That is a very difficult test to bear.
But Allah, Allah, Sufana, how it's allah, has also said in the Quran that he will not bear
anything upon, he would not bear a burden upon a soul, upon a person, but what they can handle.
So we think about the fact of the matter is that Allah, Suprana Huala has blessed you with whatever this might be,
and we have to be grateful for it, but everything is a test.
Being able to breathe is a test.
Being able to swallow, being able to see, being able to speak is a test, being able to walk.
any and everything. This is exactly why we have been told countless times that we will never
be able to count the blessings of Allah's of Hada. So many brothers and sisters, while suffering
and hardships are difficult to endure, they also help not only in this life, but in the next life.
They remind us of our purpose in this life, encouraging us to seek Allah's mercy and help us grow
in character. So as we navigate our trials on our tests, let us remember that
Allah, Suhpana, who is always with us and his help is always near for those who are
patient and steadfast. I pray that Allah supranautala allows for us to pass our test, allows for
us to be forgiven for our sins and our shortcomings, allows for us to be patient and steadfast.
I pray that Allah supranahua ta a while protects us from the evil eye and allows for us to always
return to him and repent to him.
I mean,
supan Allah, I want to, before I end this,
inshallah, I want to invite everybody to a upcoming article called,
Why Should We Care, which will, inshallah, be released September 27th.
So in this article, I will dive deeper into the importance of compassion and empathy in
our lives, but also realizing
the face of suffering
no matter where it is in the world,
especially covering
Gaza and other parts of the world,
inshallah. And I pray that
everyone will benefit from this article, but
inshallah it is coming out on Saturday.
Most likely it would be coming out Saturday afternoon,
probably after the hood, inshallah,
depending on where you live,
here in the U.S., inshally,
it will probably be coming out Easter time,
so it will be coming out maybe 2.30 Eastern time.
time, inshallah. So make sure you check and you are updated. Inshallah, I'm also going to do
an episode of that paper written. So, inshally, you can listen to it. Thank you for coming.
Jazakum and may Allah, subhanna a while reward us, reward you all, and may Allah, subhamaata
guide us all on the right path. And I'll ha'amdu to Allaheilhahlihahe.
And alaamu alaikum and alaqmata ala and barakato.
