Assalam

To forgive us of our sins
and our shortcomings
and to grant us a special mercy
not only in this life,
but mainly in the next.
My dear brothers and sisters,
today I want to talk about
the importance of recognizing our winters as not a glum season not a season for us to be down
that a season for us to decrease our ibadah that a season for us to decrease our love of
Allah supranahua ta a relationship with him but an uplifting season a means for us to gain
closeness to Allah supranahua ta a means for us to build a stronger connection to Allah
Sapanahua'ahua. You know, winter is a time in which everything for the believers is much easier.
You know, you think about how, inshallah, as far away, I had a previous talk, um, that long ago talking
about the Hajid prayer, and the winter is perfect for the Hajjah, and Allah will get deeper into that
later on in this episode or this talk. You know, it's perfect for fasting. Um, a winter is a
means to have your duels answered and more accepted due to the fact that it rains more in the
winter depending upon where you are you know um for those who are in hotter climates you guys have
at rest you know why because you don't have to worry about it being 40 degrees uh or you know
20 degrees during the day but instead it's 80 degrees it feels a little cold but it's not as
cold as it normally would be at 40 degrees so you know you have to say alhandi la for those
things. You know, it's a fun of love. You know, most of the times the dream of winter would be
having warm jumpers, you know, willie, willie socks, hot chocolate with marshmallows, you know,
sitting out kind of relaxing, you know, taking your time. But for some people who live in colder
places, it is a little different. You know, it might be something like, you know, early mornings
to dash the car, wet socks, delayed trains, and even costlier utility and power bills.
you know, for those things.
While some people enjoy the cold seasons for others,
the great skies and the lack of sunshine
can cause them to fill down and glum.
You know, changing our perspective on things
can alter our feelings and motivate us to do better.
Instead of approaching this winter like any other,
let's make this winter different.
Let us find inspiration in the sunnah
and the lives of our predecessors
to beat the winter blues
and make it a special season,
a season of worship and reconnecting with our Lord,
Allah, subhanna, and so what is a believer season is the question,
and how does it differ from any other ordinary winter?
You know, and the first thing I want to go over are its days are perfect for fasting.
You know, winter short days make it a perfect time for optional fast.
And Al-Hassan al-Basri-allu-An-An-Hun said,
winter is the best season for the believer.
its nights are long for him to pray in and its days are short for him to fast in.
And the messenger of Allah Salah al-a-a-a-hul-a-u-slam also said,
fasting in winter is the easy prize.
You know, winter is also ideal.
It is the ideal time, particularly for sisters to make up any mis-fast.
So trying to fast on Mondays and Thursdays as it is a sunnah of the Prophet of Allah-a-a-Hu-Slam.
or the three middle days, the 13th, 14th, and 15th of the Hidri month, also known as Ayam Bid.
So, you know, remembering that this is a time in which fasting is a lot easier because the days are shorter and the nights are longer to pray in and, you know, increase our acts of I bada and worship.
You know, Muadabi Jabal, Radio Allah, one who wept on his deathbed and said, I weeped because I miss the thirst I felt when I
fasted, praying at night during the winter, and sitting knee-to-knee with the scholars during the
gatherings of knowledge. You know, and winter is a beautiful chance to enjoy the night prayer. You know,
it allows us to taste the true joy of Ibada throughout the night prayer, the Hajid, which as I said,
we talked about not that long ago in one of my talks. And, you know, the Hajjad brings with a sweetness,
is, which is nearly impossible to experience otherwise.
One of life's greatest joys is being able to cry out to one's maker in the stillness of night.
Into Hajjid in Sujid, when one is closest to him.
You know, and winter is the best time to begin praying to Hajid if you're not already doing so.
Even if it means waking up 10 minutes before Fudgea starts, do it.
The key is to be consistent and the key is to start.
and gradually build up the amount of times you pray.
And the messenger of Allah,
Salah, Allah, Salam, said,
hold on tight to the night prayer.
Indeed, it is the habit of the righteous who came before you.
It brings you closer to your Lord,
wipes away your sins, and prevents you from sinning.
By Allah, if it wasn't for the night prayer,
I would not have loved the world.
By Allah, the people of the night prayer,
experience more delight in their night than the people of entertainment experience in their entertainment
sometimes the hearts experience moments in which they leap out of joy due to the remembrance of
allah to the extent that i say if the people of paradise have anything like this then how blissful
must their lives be and of course you know when winter approaches
Obeid
Mn Umar would say
O people of the Quran
The night has become long
For your Salah
And the day has become short
For your fast
So take a full advantage
You know
And you know
During this winter time
It is also a means
Of
A reminder of the hellfire
So you know sometimes we often
associate the extreme heat
With the hellfire
But even the cold
Should remind us of what awaits the wrongdoers
And the messenger of allah, Allah, Salah, a.
He was said, and I told us,
Hellfire complained to its Lord,
saying parts of me have consumed
other parts. So he allowed it
to breathe one,
sorry, I was sorry, allowed it to
breathe out twice, one in the winter
and one in the summer.
So this extreme heat
that you experience and the
bitter cold that you experience.
You know, the night
is long, so do not shorten it
with your sleep and the day is
pure, so do not make it filthy with your sins. You know, and winter is a means to thank
Allah, Supanahua Tala, and help others, especially those in need, you know, and just really
thinking deeply honored. Winter is a true reminder of how many blessings Allah subana Huatara has
bestowed upon us. There are thousands of homeless people on our streets shivering throughout the
long nights while we remain warm in our homes. Similarly, there are countless,
more around the world facing even worse difficulties. So as believers and as Muslims, we must be
grateful to Allah for giving us roofs that shelter us, heating that keeps us warm and clothes that protect
us. You know, sometimes we complain about the things that don't need to be complained about. And
sometimes we have to look at a deeper level. We say, oh man, I wish we had a little more heat.
Oh man, you know, this is going on and that's going on. But instead, we need to go on a deeper level
and thank Allah Sophanahua Tala.
We need to go on a deeper level and say,
think about those who don't have what we have.
At least we have a house.
At least we have heat.
At least we have clothes.
There are people out there who don't have any of these things.
One of the best ways to thank him is to help those less fortunate than us.
So don't hesitate to buy a homeless person, a hot meal, a drink,
or donate to a charitable cause, whether it's local or global.
Sayad al-Kalbi, radio Allah-Huanjo.
used to weep during cold nights
when he was asked about this, he said
I thought about the poor amongst the
Ummah of Muhammad's Allah, Allah,
a-u-Salam, during this night.
And I cried out of compassion for them.
You just imagine this.
That someone who has more, he can have
more than these people,
cries out of compassion for the people
who don't have. And we look at a
genocide happening right now before our eyes
and what do we do? We continue,
we scroll past it, we continue
on doing whatever we were doing,
We talk about it maybe a little bit, but what's the main thing we do?
We continue on about our days.
We continue on about our lives.
We don't take the opportunity to feel the same pain, to feel the same suffering as they feel.
As the Prophet of Allahi al-Hu Salam has told us, he has said that the umah or the believers are like one body.
So when one part of the body feels pain, the whole body aches.
And we think about this.
In the modern day, we do not feel the same pain and complex.
passion for our brothers and sisters around the world, for our brothers and sisters in our own
community that we do for ourselves, you know? Like just imagine if you were going through that
same scenario. Imagine if you are being starved to death. Imagine if you have all of your
family members killed. Imagine if you are struggling to live and struggling to survive. Just imagine
that for a second. Imagine that. Stop thinking on a level of comfort. Stop thinking on a level of I have
a whole bunch. I have a house. I have a car. I have water, drink. I have food. I have heating.
I have all these different things. But imagine if you don't have that. Imagine what that's like.
And it's beautiful because we think about our predecessors and how they used to be better than us.
They're better than us. This is why we should take from them.
You know, as a prophet Allah-Hu-Salam has told us, no one is better except by their faith, by their
Amen and by their
closeness to Allah
Sufanahu
Tala, do not judge anyone
because you do not know their closeness
to Allah supranahua
you know and
supran Allah
during winter
it rains more
in this results
in more opportunities
for our duas to be accepted
for our duas to be answered
you know
which is more opportunities
to have our duas accepted
and the prophet
Allah Allah alahi
and who are not rejected
the duat at the time
of the adan
and under the rain.
So instead of grumbling about the rain,
let us turn to Allah and pour our hearts out
to the one who never disappoints.
We ask Allah,
to make this season be a beautiful one,
one in which we truly experience
the joy of worshipping.
Allah, our master, our creator,
our protector, our friend.
May Allah, suhpanahuata allow us to experience
the delight in conversing with him
in the early hours and fasting during the short days.
Amin.
And the final, d'a'an al-h-h-h-lilhraubalemin.
And al-harmu'a-harmu.
And al-harmatulah, and al-harmatulah.
