This is our Friday drinks episode where we celebrate the money wins from our She's on the money community because there are so many great money wins going through the community each and every single week. And we spend a very big part of our week talking about the special happenings of the group.

So Fridays is all about celebrating you and having a more positive and constructive conversation around money. So let's jump straight into today's episode because I know from the conversation that's been going on around this table this evening that it is going to be a goodie. We are going to go through our Facebook Marketplace Money Wins. My favorite thing ever. I know. don't do sponsorship but like they don't need to they really don't need to but that's jessica's oh hang on what would they sponsor oh we're gonna send you john's old bloody old and bloody thank you but it's true because facebook you'd assume would do these nice beautiful slick ads and it's like some old dank couch that 15 people have used for the last 10 years yeah or like barry's old leaf blower that he realized he doesn't want anymore because he's upgraded to the blower that oh someone's read one of the winds from coming up soon already covered with the leaf unlucky all right before we jump into the muddy winds and confessions from the community this week georgia king hey vicky d hey i feel like it's been a while my

friend it does feel like it's been a hot minute but what happened on this week's deep dive this week we discussed budgeting for variable incomes which was a really interesting chat because we do have so many different kinds of workers in our community and i think we got a lot out of it i did i felt like we did and the community feedback was great great oh yes we get questions all the time because we have so many students and students are like you know working in pubs in hospo and stuff like that exactly side hustlers as well like lots of people with different things going on yeah like this week i've really been talking about flexible income not just on the pod but also in real life a lot i've got a lot of clients who have been talking about it and also i

was on another podcast recently who literally asked about that topic so good timing i think jk did you imply that you were just an expert of it and didn't let them know that you'd been researching it for our own oh look i did sound really good on the podcast dropped some stats looked like i was really well prepared and i hope that they were impressed i'm not even going to tell you what podcast it is now because you'll just blow it out of the water and you'll be like phony i know anyway we also had a really great money diary episode on monday tony lodge what was it and how did it work um it was actually amazing so i'm obviously new to the money diaries and not that new you've done a couple you can't keep okay all right i'm not new anymore but this

one was really really cool so it was all about this girl who is in her workplace the only one without a degree yeah and um yeah and she talked about how she had a rough family life like rough upbringing and she bought her own house first house when she was 18 or something you know it was really incredible super inspiring so if you're feeling a bit down about your sit show have a listen because it was really great what a legend it was actually really inspiring and i walked away from that chat feeling a little bit lighter and just really grateful that people like that exist in our community and they want to share their stories with us yeah it's really cool yeah i love that but speaking of luck in the community that likes to share ryan john it is time for ryan john's

top community wins this week and not only that because today is facebook marketplace day they are all facebook marketplace money wins oh you've themed them i've themed them and can i just say when we get to casey rook i spat when i read her i actually did i spat in a good way yes i hope so like you know when people like it's sort of common now to be like oh my god screaming like i actually spat and screamed at the desk when i read hers well speaking of spitting before we actually get into what i think what drink are we gonna spit when we get to casey's money win this week this week we're spitting in the house also if that wasn't a dream segue i don't know what it is uh watch out jason pj i'm next up on the air brekkie radio here i come

uh yeah this week we have the uh the aussie classic as it does say on the can the udl in the passion fruit variety we wanted the limited edition watermelon but they weren't cold so we've settled for passion fruit it takes like teenage years and bad decisions yeah i'm upset we didn't get watermelon but i have a very high inkling that the reason we couldn't get watermelon was because will wasn't working today such a shame um maybe we'll go back to pick them up yeah yeah yeah we'll swing around later all right back to our money wins ryan what have you got for us this week get ready to spit y'all that's horrific i hate it there's a line i never thought i'd say i never want to say again blair says and again all facebook marketplace wins this week blair says i

I bought a steam mop for $20. Money wins. Steam mops are the best. Wait for it. Then I steam mopped my floor and sold it for $20. Cleaned my floors for free. What happens when you need to clean them next time? Well, I think...

Rinse and repeat. Would a big steam up, would that be a big once a year? You wouldn't steam your floor every week, would you? I do mine like once a month. Really? Sometimes twice. I feel like if we went into Jess's house, honestly, it would be like going into a museum.

I'm just going to have a guess and say I wouldn't be wearing my shoes in her place. No, because I think she'd hit you at the front door. You know what? You can wear them in, but don't walk on the carpet with them. Are you joking? And then she comes to my house. We're in a rental. I want my bond back.

Yeah, look. And when I buy a house, we all floorboards. I won't have that issue. Righto. Okay, Melinda. Moving on. Madison says, my win was buying all the things I needed for a wedding

and then selling them for the exact same amount. So the wedding looked incredible and we spent next to nothing. That's awesome. Oh, that's so smart. What I like about that is, and I mean, it's obvious, but you only need it once and how many things you'd buy to only use once and then they sit in the shed or you'd never use them again. Spend so much money on them.

Arguably, that's even better than just hiring this stuff because you didn't end up even paying a hire fee. Well, she said the exact same amount. Yeah. Perfect. All right. Mia said she moved into a house a couple of years ago and went from an apartment that had no balcony

to something with a huge backyard. So she went onto a Facebook marketplace and picked up an outdoor table and chairs for $250 so they can sit out there and have a barbecue and stuff. When she went to pick it up, they said, oh, because you know how sometimes you give the warranty documents and stuff, like the big documentation or a receipt? The original receipt, it turns out the table and chairs were from Domain

and the original cost was $4,500. That's so expensive. That's so good. That tops all of our Facebook money, we can just end the pod here. That is pretty epic. Melanie also has something similar. She got a dining table and chairs. It was only $20 and it was an outdoor one.

And she said, oh, look, it'd been out in the sun. You know, you kind of weathered a little bit. She spent $45 re-sandering, re-sandering, re-sanding and re-lacquering. And it ended up in great condition for a total cost of $65 and a few hours work. Yeah, well done. um how much how much are those v dyson vacuum things really expensive very expensive so someone said in the group there sometimes can be fourteen hundred dollars does that sound right yeah that's so expensive all right well ashley says i live in an apartment with my guide dog and my guide dog

drops a lot of hair around the house and i wanted to get one of these it turns out that sometimes the battery dies and so someone said oh the vacuum's not working i'm just going to get rid of So she bought it for $100, spent another $100 on a new battery for it. So for $200, got herself one of those $1,400 vacuums. That's so good. Let's go to Katie. Is it Fisher & Paykel or Paykel? Paykel?

Is that something you genuinely just put on the table? Do you actually think that's a thing? I think it's Paykel. I think it's Paykel. I've heard people say Paykel or Paykel, but I think it's Fisher & Paykel. I also think it's Fisher & Paykel. Can you all remind my wife when we see her next that that's what it's called? Does she also shop at Tajay by chance?

She wishes, mate. Rolly. She's not doing that well. Husband doesn't bring home the bacon. Picked up a washing machine, a Fisher and Pichel for $50. You just said Pichel. Sorry, you said the thing again. I think he was being ironic.

I let her off. Let's go on to Bex. A Marks 100% woolen jumper. That's, like, top quality, right? Spenno. Yeah. $300 in the shops. $80 on Facebook Marketplace.

Brand new. And it still had the pocket stitched together like it was property. Oh, yeah. All right. And finally, Casey Rook. We're spitting. Nobody taking a sip of their drink. I do not want to clean this studio.

If he's done these thing guys where he's worked up something that is going to be a let down. Like the pun. I would never do that. What was the pun again? Exactly. Yeah. Exactly.

I'll tell you. It was Andrea Pardo. Oh, yeah. Oh, well, Pardo me. Oh, that got a bigger laugh than it did. Casey Rook. I sold my bed frame on Marketplace. Okay.

He asked me about the measurements and the price, and I meant to say, just give me a sec. And instead I wrote, just give me sex. He was at my house half an hour later, and I am still mortified to this day. And rightly so. Oh, no. Oh, no.

Oh, no. Can I just confirm the price? And is that a queen? Just give me sex, man. Oh, he's arrived already. It's really embarrassing. Honestly, I would have been like, oh, sorry, I don't know, Casey. She doesn't go here and got like a fake mustache.

And can I just add that usually when we say what are your money wins of the week, hundreds and hundreds of comments, the amount of great stories on the Facebook Marketplace threads. It's worth a read. Go and have a squiz. I was loving it. It was my best life.

I actually wrote like I could literally do hours and hours of different ones because there's so many great stories. So go and check those out. And everyone's so generous with their stories as well. They're like, yeah, yeah, but get these guys. It's so good. okay now we are back it is time to hear from the she's on the money team what their facebook marketplace money wins or confessions are this week and i think i'm going to start with you

jessica ricci you kind of inspired this entire segment i don't believe it's going to be an ongoing segment it probably doesn't do my best popularity but you believe yeah it's true but You believe that you can manifest anything on Facebook Marketplace. Yes. As someone who literally told me today she's not spiritual. I don't know how much. I'm spiritual for Facebook Marketplace. Yeah, I feel like this is a little bit hypocritical.

But can you explain the challenge that our team had this week? So this week we thought in the spirit of kind of this upcycling thing that we see a lot in the community, people making banks, selling things that they're not using. We all wanted to try and sell something from our house, see who could make the most money. see who won basically we're a little competitive we don't know what each other's no we have no idea that it was literally just sell something tell each other what it was during the week which is really hard because i talk a lot like mouthful of marbles underwater so ha ha ha i'm really embarrassed about mine but good we want to hear it all right well i'll start so i last year i think

i've mentioned this before i lost my job ended up working in a warehouse for a very reputable well-known cosmetics company um and one of the perks of this job was that we were very kindly gifted a lot of product which was amazing and so i probably need that job yeah look it was definitely a really hard job but it was very generous of them but i ended up with a lot of stuff that i just don't need and so it's kind of been sitting and i've been letting friends pick through it but i thought i'd chuck a few things up on marketplace half the price brand new never been used sealed etc and i made 200 bucks what awesome yeah which was huge off a couple of things and so now i'm like oh maybe i should put them all on my depop in case anyone wants them

you absolutely should and then we can share it in she's on the money and people can perv through jessica rich's makeup we've spoken about potentially doing like a team depop because i know i've asked this before can you do a quick reminder of what depop is very comparable to facebook marketplace um it's the difference is is that with depop you can set like postage fees and stuff so it's all they do take a percentage though so it's kind of like you know marketplace you go back and forth is it a lot of fashion and beauty or is it still everything or because i feel like it's mostly fashion beauty stuff whereas you know marketplace you can get anything which i think is why i like it so much so that was super successful over there which is great but maybe

if we've all got some stuff to get rid of we'll do a depop yeah interesting 200 bucks wasn't mad about it no that's really good and the girls were so excited one of them i it was a limited edition blush from nars and she was like oh my gosh this is my favorite blush i can't get it anymore and i just finished it she was so excited it was really like it just felt nice to be like oh my gosh it's yours and it was like a third of the retail price because i just wanted it gone get money for it yeah everybody's happy love it do you notice how we didn't get to raid through her makeup i was i should bring it in i'll bring it in so you guys can find we don't even want it we're not even interested it's fine if you travel out to the west side to dig through my stuff not worth it

uh g king how'd you go hello okay so not well um oh no g straight off the back of the height of jessica ricci i'm gonna plummet us way back down um so i've been trying to to sell my year 12 formal dress yeah that's fair do you have a photo yeah look it's lovely yeah were you in year 12 pick so it didn't happen 2012 but the dress is like chic and it's been worn once shona joy guys get around it joy's always been a classic shona joy is the photo of you in it no it was very titty at the time i don't know how much it's very bright it's beautiful like it doesn't look much chop like i get why no one's bought it um but if anyone wants to stalk me go go through the archives back to 2012 and you'll see young g king repping this do you girls

want to have a look i would love to see anyway that is bright okay it's like a mermaid energy why hasn't anyone snapped up that deal hey that's me holding it against the door good content for a podcast it's not that i don't like it i think i'm just surprised that that was something you would pick because i feel like you have a lot of like neutral earthy tones yes you're right you are correct i guess i've changed in the 10 years since i was in high school and how would you describe the colors of that it's like mermaid are you asking me yeah like green and blue and leafy I promise it is nice in real life and I'm sure it looks beautiful but I'm always suspicious when people don't try the dress on to sell it like I'm trying to work out what it

might look like on you I just I do try it on of you in year 12 just crop it crop it pretend it was yesterday maybe I should yeah absolutely I feel like stuff sells better when it's on somebody yeah like I definitely need to be styled I think that's a thing thanks for the advice guys you're I'll let you know how I go. All right, Tony, what have you got? So I convinced myself that I'd be able to make a lot of money on something. So my boyfriend Torbs and I, we've got, like, quite a good, very dorky now, quite a good collection of, like, Blu-rays and stuff.

And they're expensive. like back in the day buying a blu-ray would be like 25 30 bucks like 40 50 dollars yeah like 40 yeah depending on what it was how new it was whatever anyway i put up the disappointment on tony's face right now i cannot wait for this story because i just convinced myself that it was going to be a great deal it's going to be such a good win i was going to come in i was going to impress you guys you were going to like lift me up on my chair and like it was going to amazing. We can still do that. So I put up this batch of DVDs up for like

a hundred bucks. Fifteen dollars. Like each DVD? No. For the whole lot? Like for all of it. For the whole lot? Yeah. And you sold it for fifteen? Yeah. What, so someone goes, oh nah, I'll offer you fifteen and you're like, take it. Yeah, well I had no bites, guys.

It was like G King with their wedding dress. Wouldn't wear that to a wedding. Or a formal. Oh! Excuse me. I really liked it, Georgia. I think he would have looked beautiful in it. So beautiful that I want to share with the Facebook community. Your formal photo?

because i broke even so during covid i bought a standing desk because my back is kind of a bit not great and so i thought it would also make me a little bit more motivated at home didn't work that way it turns out I thought it might so it retailed for $550 and I already had one in the office so I was kind of like I'm not gonna go buy a brand new one and I also didn't want to carry my you know office one home because they're really heavy and I didn't want to go back and forth because who knows when you're gonna come back so I bought it online for $300 it was a little white one very happy with it and then I sold it on Facebook marketplace for $300 so I think that's pretty good just like that money when you had before it's like it's like it never

happened that's not a break if you've spent or you've already spent that 300 that's gone yeah but now it's back and now definite win money win i think so i made no money technically but technically i'm up 300 but i think it's not it's not an actual good effort that's good so we're at zero so still jess is winning but hopefully ryan's gonna pull through with the goods well I'll knock Jess off her Facebook Marketplace queen status. Well, first of all, I would love queen status in this room. I'd just like to point that out. V, I was on a similar thing to you in that I bought a desk,

just a regular desk for the studio apartment thing I was living in, and I thought if I could just at least get the money back, then I feel like I've had a free desk for six months, you know, and I get the money back. So I thought I bought the $49 desk from Kmart, and then I sold it for $50, and I was like, yes, well done to me. Yeah, good. It turns out I actually bought the $270 one from Ikea and drastically undersold it.

Oh, no. Because someone bought it straight away and I was like, how good is this? Money win. Yeah, money win for them because it turns out I sold a $250 desk for 50 bucks. Oh, no. It was brand new. So I think what we're trying to say is congratulations to Jessica Ritchie. I would have been disappointed if I didn't win, to be honest.

I'd be more disappointed with that golfer's clap because everyone's so unhappy for you. And do you know what? one person in the corner like it is so true but do you know what i know you were plotting from the beginning you started thinking about that and we're like yeah okay i'm gonna win this and you knew what was gonna work of course limited edition nars bronzers and blushes were gonna work jessica give the people what they want she knew and i tried to sell an item that had previously been sold on facebook marketplace lucky they couldn't see the buyer history like one owner

Like with a car. One female owner. Smoke-free home. No dogs. Yeah, no, I have a dog and two cats. They definitely have touched it everywhere. Anyway, I think it's clear from the very beginning of this episode that Jessica was going to win,

so I'm not even sure why we all decided to participate. But it was fun. I'm still proud of you. Thanks. Well done. I'm proud of the person that got a box full of Blu-rays for $15. They're the real winner here. They've really taken on the Jessica Ricci school of manifesting.
