Welcome back to another one of our Friday drinks episodes where we celebrate the money wins from our She's on the money community. every single week there are amazing money wins and confessions happening every single day in our community and we spend a really big part of our week talking about them as a team so it seems

only fair to extend that chat to you guys so let's dive straight into some stuff that happened this week tony is here to tell us all about the money diary so our money diary this week was a lady who has been working in marketing for a lot of her life and uh when she took maternity leave she got some really bad skin conditions started talking about it on her instagram and now has like over 5 000 followers or something and um all these brand works with all these brands and she's like a full-on influencer yeah but like the best part about that is it's now her full-time job yeah is that the definition of like owning your problems yeah what started as a problem is now a new career yeah now she's like god i love my dermatitis no i don't know absolutely not what

she was like but she was great and she actually plugged her instagram because she's actually a influencer that was really cool and i love that that's now her full-time job and she's actually about to move to vancouver and just like start life over there with her partner yeah so if you want to check her out it's at amanda's cute face which is quite cute and she's just real glowy like she comes up in my feed now and she's just like a christmas tree she's just glowing all over the place we'll be able to see her from canada still yeah absolutely but it's also rude how glowy she is i'm just like that is so unfollow unfollow you're too nice i want to be like you Her skin is flawless.

But, yeah, so obviously our money diaries are normally anonymous, but she gave us permission to express her. Absolutely. And then on Wednesday we had our deep dive episode with the one and only Georgia King. Georgia, what did we talk about? This week on our deep dive episode we spoke about imposter syndrome. That we did.

And Tone was in on the chat with us. Yeah, we dragged you in. Sorry. I love being dragged in. So it was quite a deep and vulnerable chat between the three of us, I guess. What was your take on it, P? Well, I really liked it, but I obviously love talking about topics like this because I think that as women, we should be talking about these topics more openly and more regularly.

And so it felt right to bring Tony into that conversation because unlike you and I, Georgia, we're on the deep dives. We often just present information. It felt like maybe that was a better conversation to be had between three friends, you know, relating to the story and sharing different points of view because we're all at different stages of our careers and our development and i just thought it was yeah really powerful i listened to it back and i was really proud of what we created and we talked about how important it is to like be your own cheerleader too and when you do something well to acknowledge it and own it and be and say i'm

really proud of that and i did a really good job isn't it so normal when you do something well and people congratulate you and you're like oh no no it's not like not a big yeah like it's really it almost feels weird you brush it off thank you for the compliment and like accept it yeah i mean for us ryan doesn't do that but yeah you've never complimented me before so yeah check your dms man oh you go into my restricted area yeah yeah you'll slide back you'll slide back into the restricted dms like you'll get blocked but let's move on and ask jessica ritchie um two questions one what are we drinking and two why are we drinking that well uh the answer to the second question is because i once again was left with the task of choosing the drinks and i told you

i told you that we would end up with something not so great if i was left to my own devices but you weren't left to your own devices you and tony i videoed this you guys played a guessing game kind of yes but we still ended up on the mudslide yes my mudslide i'm not opening mine mine still got the lid on it's not happening i'm about to try vodka mud shake which is a chocolate flavored creamy vodka beverage according to the bottle you guys enjoy that tony just took a sip how did you feel about that i actually don't hate it yeah i think we purchased it ironically and we've been joking about it but now that i taste it it's actually pretty good georgia and i've been nodding at each other it tastes like a big m i'm in heaven what you guys have been shitting on me

all night for turning up with these i will continue to do so jessica i don't think i could have a night out on them or anything but it's not about a petite it's a bit like an espresso martini kind of vibe yeah it's not awful all right well i'm glad that you guys are happy and that's what makes me happy like chocolate milk sorry i was talking so i can get try it oh okay well all right six out of ten do you know what we're gonna move on from here because i'm just really disengaged with this drink i don't feel included i feel excluded from this community ryan what are our top money wins that you've collected from the community this week how much are doc martins normally and i think jess you've seen this post in the group brand new doc martin boots can be

a real spino two or three hundred bucks right well investment yeah they are so ebony said i bought a second hand pair then being worn once before and must have been returned to the store or some kind of, you know, technique or whatever, she got $100 off and they'd been worn once. And now they were hers for $199. That's so new. She'd still have to break them in. Because they're shoes you do have to break in, right?

You really have to break them in. Yeah. I've got Docs that I've had for like 10 years. Yeah, there was someone posted in our group a while ago and said she'd had hers for years and years and then she just got them resold because they held up perfectly. What a legend. They're a very good investment.

They sound like it. And I always see girls down the street wearing them because, you know, I hang out in the Richmond area. there's lots of cool gals there yeah can you imagine me in docs i just i'm not cool enough unfortunately no no sorry a bit unfortunate but the people that wear docs probably couldn't imagine themselves in your shoes either no they'd be like i'm not wearing a lube tom all right ryan what's next jessica said i punched my tire last night would normally be worried but last month i set up a small emergency fund specifically for my car which it felt so good

that I could actually pay the money that I already had instead of dipping into my savings and my credit card. So she says, thank you. She's on the money for teaching me to have an emergency fund. Oh, good job. Georgina was quoted $300 for a laptop battery to be replaced. And she said no and bought her own battery online for $80, replaced it herself, saved $220.

Hustler. What a legend. Wow. Hayley Parrish says, I mostly work from home in my PJs. Legend. and I've been eyeing off this new pair of Peter Alexander. Are they the Peter Alexander, like, the best? Yeah.

The comfiest? Yeah, like when you walk past their shops, it smells like delicious cinnamon rolls. No, it doesn't. It smells like their vanilla Taha. Yeah, the glasshouse candles. So good. So yum.

It's such a Jess smell too. And their mascot is a sausage dog. Called Penny. So cute. Hayley says, I didn't want to pay $89, but I got them on Click Frenzy for $29. Oh, we love a Click Frenzy. That is good for Peter Alexander pajamas.

I'm a fiend for new PJs and can definitely relate. Here's a question for Victoria, and I know you're not an accountant, Bea, but Anna replies to Hayley's comment and said, because you wear PJs at work, could you claim the Peter Alexander PJs as a work uniform or a work expense? I am not an accountant, but from my ability to read the ATO website, it doesn't have your work logo on it, so you can't claim it. I was ready to hit the button because I thought you were going to say yes.

No, absolutely not. do it anyway um this is from amber last week my partner and i were visiting my grandma and she lives near a savers so it's like our tradition that we go and see grandma for sunday lunch and then we go to savers afterwards oh that's cute what's savers what are you joking is that a joke it's like the biggest the bestest the most large op shop in the state it's like physically just So many. Like a supermarket, right? It's massive.

There's one in Footscray. In Greensboro. There's one in, yeah, one of the hipster. Brunswick. There used to be one in Frankston as well, guys. Yeah, they're huge. What do you mean used to be? Is that gone?

It's gone, girl. The world has changed since I lived on the peninsula. Every time there was a dress-up party at my high school in Eltham. Everyone. Everyone would be at Savers on the Friday afternoon in Greensboro just getting their outfits because they just had literally supermarket aisles of everything. That sounds fun.

Can we go? There's heaps of stuff. It's really fun. Yeah, we can do a Savers trip. Absolutely, we can. And if you donate clothes, they give you a card that gives you a discount on your purchase. Oh, that's smart.

Yeah. So Amber said they found a brand new The North Face jacket for her boyfriend. Normally retails for $300. They got it for $12. What? That is a money win. Now, I might be out of my depth here with a few questions,

so help me out. How much would it normally cost? And I know there's no such as normal, but for a female to get her hair done. Well, is she blonde or is she brunette? This is very important. Is it a cut? Is it a colour? Well, that's why I was asking for help.

Just for a cut, what would the range be? Oh, look, I'd say anywhere from $25 for your El Cheapo, really easy haircut, literally up to $300. All right, so Miss Coco is what we'll call her. That sounds expensive. She sounds expensive. She said, after a year of dealing with my passive-aggressive hairdresser, which was just some editorial that wasn't needed.

But it also really sets the tone. And it makes me a little bit concerned about why she continually went back to a passive-aggressive hairdresser. Well, you know how you just got your routine and that's who you go to or something? The passive-aggressive hairdresser was charging $100, but Miss Coco has really short hair and it actually didn't take her that long. So she goes, I understand that some people take longer and blah, blah, blah.

But she's like in and out. i feel like it's not worth a hundred dollars so she said she'll shop around and she stumbled across the just cuts and thought why not the experience doesn't have to be all luxe of the salon but the hairdresser was enthusiastic very experienced and cut my hair for 24 dollars good job miss coco well miss coco has a pixie mohawk and is quite happy with the work and she is the newest customer see everybody that listens to our show is much cooler than me I don't know why you're here, honestly. Wearing their docks, got their pixie haircut.

I don't know if that was the same person. Finally, Shannon J says, money win. I won $1,000 on the Cadbury Golden Ticket Competition. What? What actually is that? I don't know, but that's really cool. I thought. Well, she's got $1,000 in her pocket and she sung the song

I've Got a Golden Ticket in the comment section. Amen. Clever. I really like that. I really like that. I am actually quite envious. Can you imagine opening a chocolate bar and finding $1,000? Because usually I don't know about you guys.

I hope you get chocolate as well. Oh, my gosh. Speaking of chocolate, our favourite chocolate place, Tony, Hey Tigers, closing down. I saw that. Devo. And I'm really upset about it. So I made myself feel better by ordering a lot of chocolate

on the internet for the office. So that'll be here soon. Money win for everybody. But let's actually talk about everybody's money wins after this quick break. all right we are back and it is time to ask the team about their money wins or confessions george is yawning but you know who's not yawning tony and jess who have a joint money win or first ever joint money win in history and i'm not sure if it's a joint money win or a confession or

the fact that i was actually out of the office for most of this morning do you guys maybe want to elaborate to everybody tuning in tony take it away this is all what did you do well i would like to preface it with it is definitely a win it's not a loss um like between you you've both spent more than a thousand dollars and you're calling this a win is that right okay but we both got a dyson air wrap now for anybody that doesn't know please enlighten me yes okay because i was in this group message and i have no idea what happened today okay so it is basically so dyson who make the hair dry the hand dryers and the vacuums and everything they developed this range of hair styling tools and it's supposed to be the best thing ever it's like basically like if angels

were touching your hair to dry it and style it every day it's like better than elf juices being put on your hair every morning for strength and longevity anyway it's very creative healthier for your hair because it uses like that's the elf juices yeah got it okay that's the elf juices anyway so get to the point the air wraps the air wraps are normally like nine hundred dollars for the the one that i wanted had the extra fancy had the extra fancy carry case anyway so i saw this post in our she's on the money community turned out her boyfriend found this deal though yeah on oz bargains um which i didn't know was a thing but basically it was that well it's just this website it's like a forum do you remember forums where people would get on and like share their

things yeah reddit like reddit yes sometimes yeah i love reddit do you reckon forums are still like that's where it starts before it starts spreading to mainstream hence why this deal came from that's the forums that took down gamestop so there you go um anyway so very powerful places really big really very powerful web of deceit and destruction anyway so he's still not at the point of the story oh sorry that it's the most exciting story ever and it deserves to oh my god you know what i've had enough so what happened this morning tony anyway so she posted this thing about how you could get this amazing air wrap instead of it being 898 dollars that it would be 550 dollars that is a money win so and i didn't just decide i was going to get it have i not been talking to

you guys for months about how much i wanted an air wrap it's the only thing i hear about consistently on a daily basis yes from tony and jess we've probably said on the pod before yeah you ask me about mine you're googling it consistently you guys are watching youtube tutorials on it you're talking about what type of barrel you'd use like it aligns with my values exactly so when i saw it come up i was like i really really want this it's a great investment and i did the five dollar rule which i've talked about before figure out how many times i would have to use something for it to cost five dollars a use which ended up being amazing i'll definitely use it my boyfriend will use the hair dryer attachment so it's gonna be great anyway i

bought the air wrap because no one else was in the office to stop me and then five minutes later now it's my fault and then five minutes later jess got into the office and i went jess i just bought an air wrap and it's the most exciting thing ever and she went ah and then she bought one as well she did yeah it was like a secret so there was 15 off which brought it down to like 600 and something dollars and then you could stack the coupons yeah good good money win guys i'm really proud of us because it takes courage to make a purchase like that and i think that you guys need to be more excited about how good the air wrap's gonna be when we get it our hair's gonna look great and we really bonded we're gonna look so good you guys will look good

i must say the message was all caps and it said guys i'm in the office by myself i'm crying please someone come here and help and i got scared for a moment yeah but it was actually because it was the excitement of the era i'm really happy for you but do you know what i'm be more happy about if i got to hear georgia's money winner confession hello beat that georgia georgia king well i can't because this week i have a confession guys so it was actually a couple weeks ago i went to the sir the label sale in melbourne i love their stuff yeah so i was at this sale i'd been waiting in the line for about 15 minutes but i deliberately went early because i was like i'll just run in run out get on with my day so much to do yeah yeah get there the line is like probably 300

meters long of just all these young hot thangs i did not fit in um so anyway got to like like half an hour waiting in the line i was not really moving forward but i was like at what point do i leave anyway two hours later you stayed in alone for two hours yes because i was like it got to an hour and i was like i can't leave now because i've sunk an hour into this yeah so then i get into the sale and it wasn't very good no everything was like really expensive nothing really suited me so i bought this jumper that like i didn't really like and it was still expensive just because i felt like i couldn't waste two hours is it the jumper you're wearing now because i didn't want to say but it's really like my formal dress am i right guys did you buy it you stole you stole my

win oh i had a non-financial win and that was seeing georgia in a dress has someone bought the dress georgia no not that i'm aware of you were wearing it very nicely thank Yeah, it looks gorgeous. It's not as ugly, you know, on a person than just holding it up against a door. You are correct. It actually looks like completely different outfits. Thanks, girl.

Appreciate you. Maybe update your listing to include a picture of you in it. Yeah. Ryan, have you got a money win or confession to share with us? I feel like everybody's a really long-winded today. You just wait for mine. It is also long-winded. Is it going to take 40 minutes?

Not 40 minutes. Part two will be a separate episode. So I've got to confess. Well, it's not really a confession. I've got beef with my gym who keep taking my money despite the fact I'm telling them I'm cancelling. So in November, I messaged them and I say, I'm cancelling my gym membership.

Is this the gym that I know you go to? No, it's not. Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah. So it's in a town that I used to live in. And I said, hey, I'm moving. I can't come to the gym anymore. And they said, oh, well, you signed a 12-month thing. We're nine months in.

I think it's like you pay 50% or whatever. Sure. No big deal. So my contract was... Oh, nice if you, yeah. No, like I signed... Oh, pay 50%, no worries. I signed a deal and I was happy...

I've just got that sitting in my back pocket. I was happy to honour the deal I signed, which finished in February. And then I was checking my bank accounts the other day... And it's now May? They're still taking it out every fortnight. And he hadn't noticed. You hadn't noticed.

That's nice to be rich. Three months, far out. But he was doing the right thing in reviewing his statement to see where things were coming from. Thank you, Jessica. I think I both know he probably wasn't and it was an accident that he discovered it. No, because I actually saw the tag of the gym and I was like,

I wonder if those guys are still taking my money. So I messaged them and I said, hey, I understand that we had the deal, but it's been gone. I've sent you emails here, here, here and here. Can you please stop charging my money? And they say, oh, you actually have to come in in person. Are you kidding? And I said, well, the reason I don't go to your gym anymore

is because I don't live in that town. Which I explained. I moved to Melbourne. It's three hours away. Can I just fill it out online? And can you just not take money out of my account? Sorry, that's not how it works. You have to come down.

Is that true? Can I say that? That is a joke. I would pull up your contract and check if it says that. Oh, mate, I've pulled up Consumer Affairs. Yeah, I'd call the ombudsman. Ombudsman. Sorry, sorry, the who?

Who am I calling? I'd call the ombudsman. And I know there's been a particular theme in the group about gym memberships and them being really dodgy. But what's annoying is I've been with this gym maybe on and off for like 10 years. i reckon i've signed up and quit multiple times and and if i didn't work out this time i probably would have signed up again you know if i moved another time but now i'm like those guys really

grind my gears yeah it's a common theme i spent three months trying to cancel victoria's gym membership for her who was it with no don't say no i'm not gonna say but mine actually sent me a text today saying that they couldn't direct debit my account because i drained all the money out of the account that they were direct debiting because they continue to take money after jess and by the way jess is scary on the phone i've met her no need to tell me on the phone terrifying no you're just really assertive you'll like you do not approach a conversation unless you've got all the receipts and all the facts and you're absolutely in the right correct so it's kind of scary if you're on the receiving end of that anyway you've done all of that and yeah they sent me a text

message today to say oh your direct debit failed and i'm like yeah i know because i took all the money out of that account because you keep trying to take money from me so are you saying the only thing i can do is change banks i don't know because i don't even know why they're still doing it and just did that for me back in like december or something ridiculous that's like actual harassment yeah surely and we've been on the phone to them and they're like oh yeah no nothing should come out and i'm like cool so why did i get a text message saying this or that or yeah i'd like them to pay me my money back i've asked for a refund as well they won't give it to you and they're like oh we can waive the 30 days i was like man it's been six months you're still

taking the money there is no 30 days and that's also don't get me started on the 30 day thing all right well maybe i'll share my money confession please bring me back it's been such a negative episode guys oh no one's had sorry what is negative about me getting an air up oh look i just i actually forgot because i fell asleep halfway through that conversation oh yeah mine was bad bloody gym membership over here oh and then i went in there and then i came back out and then i went in there and then i came back out this is not the snappy house that it used to be victoria tony um money win confession i have a money confession it's not even a confession actually it's a bit of a money loss so i park my car in front of my house on the street standard

yeah has a house and car must be yeah that must be nice okay cut it out anyway park in front of my house and uh at the start of the week on monday for those of you following me on instagram you know what i'm going to tell you a truck managed to clip the front of my car and take the front bumper off my prized possession um and i was really upset about it actually very annoying and rightfully so really annoying and it's also something that i look after very well but i was initially very miffed because there was no note there was nothing and so you know obviously the first thing you do in this situation call your dad so I called my dad and Eric Devine jumped on the phone worked out my insurance let me know I had no idea honestly I am nearly 30 and I honestly

should know better but my dad knows everything right so called him he started sorting it out when I got a knock on the door who was it the guy who'd hit my car coming back to give me all insurance details that's nice yeah it was very nice so it's not really a loss because obviously now i have his insurance details it's all going to be covered and it's not going to impact me that financially but i will be without a car for a short period of time which is a bit annoying so beyond the finances of it like it's the admin yeah when someone hits your car or anything to do with insurance it's the bloody admin yeah and i've got to go and i've got to drop it off to get assessed and then take it home and then i've got to go you know get it repaired and who knows how

long that's going to take do you get a car in between or something yeah i think i do i don't know the semantics of it just yet but i do know that they're worried because of the age of my car that they're not going to be able to get the parts and then it might take weeks and it's just all a very frustrating process yeah hey uh if anyone's had a better week than any of us let us know uh in the show notes besides tony's air wrap unface that thing at me please um but the air wrap's good honestly it's why my hair looks the way my hair looks oh no one compliments your hair ryan john you've got a lot of it thank you which is good for your age also on my head yeah now so tell me what it was like when the guy rocked up to your house were you mad at him or were you thankful

that he finally turned up with his insurance stuff no i was just grateful i was honestly a little bit confused and i felt really bad i'm one of those people that where you do wrong by me i'm apologizing to you though I was like no that's okay don't worry about it doesn't matter and internally I'm just glad everyone's okay yeah look I'm not the type of person that does get frustrated by that stuff because I just genuinely think it's beyond my control like what's anger or being upset actually going to do in this situation so it was what it was it's just a bit frustrating and that's my story for today guys another long-winded one all right thanks for the positivity it is i'm so glad that we came here also a big week at the she's on the money team uh we mentioned
