She's on the money. She's on the money. Hello and welcome to a brand new season of She's on the money, the podcast for millennials who want financial freedom. If you've already listened to the show, you'd know that I'm Georgia King. I'm a copywriter and as of recently, a Masters of Journalism student, guys. And look, I've still got a lot to learn about money. thankfully joining me as always is victoria divine she's sitting across from me right now

she's a millennial she's a financial advisor and she is the lucky woman who gets to be on this podcast with me victoria hi hello how are you georgia king long time so generous thank you for letting me on this podcast with you how are you i am so good but do you know what i am so glad to be behind a microphone. Oh it's good to be back. It's been a hot minute hasn't it? A hot three months I think. How did that happen? Where did the time go? Look I feel like we know how that happened. A little pandemic got in the way there. Just a tiny one not to undermine it in any way shape or form but I have been working from home. Yep how's that been? It has been good but it has given me a greater appreciation for the office. I know I think a lot of people have

sensed that yeah I feel like before this I would always say things like oh I wish I could work from home more like I want the flexibility give me my structure back so I'm looking forward to being back in the office hopefully soon if we can keep our numbers yes low that has been really good but I'm also really grateful for this period because I feel like I've had a lot of reflection time for She's On The Money been able to create a lot of content or plan a lot of content to be created yeah and also I've been able to interact with our community or I feel I've been able to interact with our community in a way that we haven't been able to before yeah there's been some beautiful posts over the last so much support oh my gosh exactly so much support so many people coming in

to help each other out so many people saying hey this is my issue and others who are lawyers or you know HR specialists jumping in and saying well actually this is how this should work for you um i know that there was a couple of girls helping each other out in the group apply for job keeper and job seeker depending on you know which one was applicable and i just feel like that's the type of community that we've been trying to grow and it's exactly exactly it's amazing so i'm super proud of that but yeah excited to be back behind a mic yeah it feels right it's exciting though how are you i'm good yeah look it has been an interesting three months for me i guess as i mentioned before i've started my master's of journalism guys and i think you finished a

whole semester i did i've just knocked that one over so that's been it's been nice getting back into the uni headspace but along with that i've moved back in with the parents at the uh that's right i'm 26 so uh bless them for having me but no that's been they didn't change your room into a guest bedroom and then not let you move back in i'm very lucky um so thanks mom and dad if you're listening but yeah so just been adjusting to that not paying rent which is also amazing a really hard time and I know how privileged I must sound saying that but yeah I'm very grateful absolutely not I think it's nice to acknowledge that it is a privileged thing to happen but it's also like let's be honest like great fantastic a lot of people are going to be in that situation

where they've had to move back in with family or back in with friends or you know make really dramatic changes to the living situation because this has been hard on a lot of us it's completely you know it's insane lives around hasn't it yep but georgia king we are back we are a very good season yes and i am so excited that we are doing this because i feel like last season georgia and i actually sat down guys before our season ended and we actually picked all of our topics for next season but given what has happened over the last three months we have gone back and redone our topics yeah because we're very excited yeah really excited about it but i just think there's so much more I guess let's call it bang for buck but also just value that we can give you guys to end the

year on a high and I feel like it's important for us to not jump straight back into investing content yeah because so many of us are not in positions where we can even think about investing right now so let's talk about the things that we can have tangible impact on so that everybody doesn't see 2020 as the year that they completely fell off track yeah so it's shaping up to be an amazing season and we cannot wait to bring it to you guys but to stick to tradition we'll chat through our money wins or confessions from the last three months victoria yeah traditional yeah we do our traditional three monthly rap tradition have you been good or bad naughty or nice i feel like i've been both like i feel like there's been some things that i've been a little bit naughty on

but then also there's been some things that i've really learned and also embraced i know that i'm spending a lot less in general right now which I know lots of us are because we haven't had the opportunity to be out I'm obviously not in the office so I'm not ordering uber eats all the time I'm also not going out for so many coffees albeit I am walking to my local cafe every day and getting a coffee there because I absolutely love them but also a nice little piece of routine in the day I was gonna say a lot of people have found that yeah but also I love the routine and I love that we are in a position where we can walk to get a coffee and just get some fresh air so yeah so we're doing that but I also think that my money win for this period of time is that I

have learned that we do in fact have food at home and as I have tasted yes and she's been feeding me a lot guys we'll talk about that later trying right well maybe um so cooking at home has been something that I've put extra effort into making sure that my groceries are all planned for which has meant that my grocery bill has come down and it's just really exciting yeah yeah I feel like I've been trying to branch out cook some different things yeah nothing exciting I'm sorry like a master chef like I'm cooking stir fries guys but stir fries are delicious fresh wholesome food that I am nourishing my body with and I'm really grateful for that so that's my money win yep less money on takeaway food more money on cooking at home yeah Georgia King do you have a money win

or a money confession for this period yeah look I do I'd say overwhelmingly it's probably been a money win of a period I guess you could say I just haven't really been spending mainly because I don't have an income uh so what a money win you lost your income is that what we're talking about it's just like I don't have money to spend so I'm not spending it so I'm proud of my discipline um but yeah it's just been I don't know it hasn't been a flat time but yeah I just haven't been spending so that's a win I guess yeah but you know woe is me let's pet back up and talk about the season again what else have we got in store i am actually most looking forward to the additional content yes that we have to put out this season so i'm not talking about additional podcasts

so one of the episodes that we have coming up in probably the middle of this season is going to have an ebook that you guys can download that'll be free for all she's on the money listeners we've then got a number of other tangible assets like downloadable budgets so think if we're talking about a wedding budget downloadable wedding budget think if we're talking about baby our how to plan for a baby guide and I just am really excited about the add-ons that we have for the podcast lots of bonus yeah because we always talk about it right we always say like how cool would it be to have this yeah but COVID has been a blessing in disguise for content creation because it has meant that you and I Georgia have been able to sit down talk about

the episodes that we want to bring to life yeah bring them to life and talk about the stats and the things that we want to share but also say to ourselves how do we add extra value here and And that's where the e-books and the budgets and the downloadable activities and things that will accompany some of our podcasts this season will come from. And each and every single time that we do this, all of our She's On The Money listeners will have a link in the pod bio. So you'll be able to click through, download it if that is what you're into and you actually want to engage with that.

So I'm really excited about that. It's going to be a very interactive season. Yeah, it's going to be so fun. And I know there's going to be even more content that we can share on socials as well. So podcast is going to be amazing. Yes. what else have you been doing i've heard i've heard whispers that you've been up to just a little bit just a couple of things so the first thing is that we have finished the she's on the

money book yes the finance bible yeah well i mean it's not called the finance bible no one's going to be surprised when they find out that the book i've written is actually called she's on the money it'll be really hard for you guys to find in store um but that has been wrapped up i have been working with my beautiful publishers to get that completely wrapped and you know there's been lots of back and forth around getting some additional content and making sure that we have really great examples and you know graphics and we're at the point where we're picking the cover images which is so cool yep the second thing I'm going to talk about is our YouTube yes is really fun Ryan John our podcast editor has been an absolute legend and slightly bullied me into

making sure that I actually have done what I said I was going to do. I mentioned a couple of weeks ago on the Instagram that we were going to start a YouTube and everybody was really excited about it. We obviously haven't launched it yet, but we have recorded a heap of videos that in the next couple of weeks we'll start dropping. What kind of content are we talking?

So the content is going to be obviously very She's On The Money, but it's a little bit more personal as well. So lots of Q&As with me about my personal opinion on things. little less pragmatic than she's on the money content okay interviews with other people will be doing content that is aligned to fashion yeah content that's aligned to beauty because there's just so much that we can talk about in this space but it's also not podcast appropriate sometimes so i think that a couple of three minute videos on you know what are your best dupes for makeup like i love chanel makeup but that isn't always financially feasible but i do have a foundation

that i love that costs 14 so like let's talk about how good that is yeah and you know how it's actually a really good dupe for the original yeah so i think stuff like that which you can engage with if it suits you or you can just miss it completely yep doesn't even matter so that's the second thing that we was that the second or third that's the second and georgia the last thing which arguably is the most exciting is our online course yes i know so we have just finished an online course i will let you guys know some more details about that soon but it has taken me the last 12 months to write so this isn't something that i turned around and said oh during covid i'll just write an online course i'll do this i have been putting this through its paces for the

last 12 months i feel like you georgia and everyone in our team has not heard the end of this course yeah i'm sorry but it's exciting it's super exciting but it'll be all about budgeting and cash flow and the basis of financial freedom so that everybody who engages with it can actually be on the right paths pick their goals that actually align to creating a super secure financial future and I honestly I feel like I've got to a point where I'm really proud of the content now which we actually recorded a couple of weeks ago yeah so that's slowly building out yeah it's really fun that's all the stuff I've done Georgia forgotten one thing which you haven't but it is an exciting development is it can we just look around us look at this space oh

georgia i didn't even notice mate we are in our brand new podcasting studio guys yes we're big kids now we are official we've made it we're actually podcasters yeah we are legit podcasters we've moved out of victoria's spare rooms slash the boardrooms in the office and i think i think this is a legit podcasting studio i think we sound more professional i think we are more professional was there anything else we needed to we needed to chat about i think that's completely it i have definitely waffled but i would also like to take this time to let everybody know that i got a kitten oh my god henry yes how do we forget sweet i don't know it's totally not she's on the money content but neither is this episode is it true that is true um tell us about

henry henry is a beautiful 15 week old tonkinese kitten he is chocolate in color and he is an absolute delight he's literally the cutest kitten i've ever seen in my life i haven't seen that many kittens he may be the first but he's my favorite by a long mile i'm so glad to hear georgia king i'm genuinely i'm not a cat person but now i know i may just be i heard you say that you weren't a cat person before you met henry and now henry's obsessed with you so you've got a new best friend yeah but who knows if this is good content i don't let's continue on with where we were going with the basis of this. I think essentially we can wrap it up there.

Yes, I think so because they've got a complete episode to jump right into of Cheese on the Money.
