Everyone sees me as a football player,
but before anything else, I'm human.
Every single day, I'm still learning how to live with problems,
mistakes, relationships, emotions, ever since I was born.
This isn't a normal podcast.
Everything here is a spontaneous,
and genuine, just honest conversations about what it means to be alive.
I'm Javier El Chichariot-Randes and listen to Learning to Be Human on IHard Radio, Apple Podcasts,
or whatever you get your podcast.
It's also an outdoor park, so like, the rims, like, it's spatially tougher.
I hate a double rim.
Well, let's make sure when you shoot, open both eyes.
I don't know why you had one eye closed.
It looked like he had one eye closed.
Dude, I'm eyeing it up.
Your eyes open to torque.
Hello, Sophie.
Your hair looks fantastic.
Today.
Dude, if people really want to know what it's like in season, especially during playoffs,
I have not touched my hair in two days.
I can't find my hairbrush and I am exhausted.
Well, you're exhausted for good reason.
You're exhausted for good reason, which is okay.
Thanks, man.
I mean, I think I'm going to hop right into it because I don't think people care about us
dancing around random stuff.
We're in the thick of playoffs.
One game one, which was so sick.
They got their lickback game two, obviously.
How are you feeling going into game three?
And if you want to break down one and two, I'll hear it.
But let's vibe check with Sylvie Tuningham read out.
Vibe check.
Here we go.
Okay, so huge freaking win first game in Vegas.
Massive.
Massive.
We were just on our shit.
And like it was good from the.
the jump, sense of urgency, defensive
scheme was perfect, offense
like, Kelsey Mitchell's a freaking beast.
I don't know if you watch it. I think she had like 34 points.
Like she was just going off
and she was actually one of the runners,
one of the, I think
final five
for MVP voting
or whatever and Asia got it.
So it's kind of cool that Asia has and now Kelsey now they're kind of like
battling which I don't know if that's a thing
but I'm making it a thing.
Yeah, well you mean a thing.
But no, for real like,
Aces gave, they had media the next day, and they gave us no credit.
Like, there's like, oh, we, especially like Asia, she's like, oh, I just played bad, like, did it.
I'm like, dude, A, B had you in clams, my girl.
But I thought it was awesome.
And then we all kind of knew like game two, like the league side of things.
They definitely played better.
Don't get me wrong.
Vegas played better.
They had junk defense, which was hard for us.
We weren't hitting our shots whatsoever.
Can I interrupt you?
please.
You said junk defense?
Yeah.
Can you tell us what that means?
Yes, Wes.
I love this.
So, like, normally you either play like man to man or like a two, three zone.
A junk defense is like when you do like a triangle in two or a box in one or like it's just,
it's just a, it's not a clean defense.
So teams aren't just used to it.
So it's called a junk defense.
And why would a team run a junk defense instead of something traditional?
Well, so they were running kind of like man to man, I think, on misses, I would say,
because it's hard to match up to get your junk defense in transition.
But then I think what the ball was like sideline out of bounds or I wasn't, I can't really remember,
but because they want to stop Kelsey.
So that is like our main offensive player.
And so they box up, which is like zones everyone else.
And then someone just stays on Kelsey the entire time wherever she's at.
Yeah.
So, I mean, it was pretty smart move by Becky, but we have some tricks up our sleeves now.
But yeah, so now they're coming into our house Friday tomorrow.
And it's about to be good.
Like, our team's feeling good.
So I'm excited.
Stealing game one in any series, especially when you're away, is like so, so massive.
I mean, rarely is a team going to sweep the first two games, especially on the road.
Yeah.
that first any series any sport it's always if you're the underdog if you can steal one
just one first two and then go back home your set up for success um so that's awesome yeah it was
um game three why i mean i you're on the bench now so you're kind of in the thick of you know
what we're doing um key takeaways that i don't know that you guys want to execute in game three um well i don't
want to give our schemes away yet, but I do think that...
No, don't give away a scheme.
You can layman's terms.
No, I'm just saying, I think like overall, when made us so good, the first game is like,
our attention to detail and our sense of urgency, like, with the ball, and to get in our
offense and to get in our defense and to get in our schemes, all of that was from the jump.
And it, like, punched them in the mouth early where this last game, we were just on our heels
and we were too slow.
Like, we weren't quick enough from the jump.
And so against the team, that, you know, that's the game.
like that, who does have the MVP, who has great players on their teams, a bunch of all-stars,
a great coach and Becky, like, you just can't because otherwise it's just so hard to
come back from. So I think that everyone's just going to be more aggressive and it's going to be
fun. Like, I know that Cambridge is about to be freaking loud and packed, and it is so fun and so
hard to play here. So I don't know, we stole a game and that's huge. Like, all the pressure's on
them. We're just here in. I agree. I agree. How was the atmosphere in Vegas? I
People forget I live there.
Actually, randomly enough.
My office was in Sears Palace.
I didn't even mean to do that.
I,
but they,
the,
the Aces are one of the first pro teams in
Vegas.
The Aces and the Knights.
And like that was kind of,
like what made that city
until like a sports city.
Like solid environment.
Have you played in there in the playoffs before?
Yeah, I played,
um,
I played in there for like the last,
six years.
Because I think my first year was,
was their first year, or is their second year in Vegas.
I will say,
I thought that that place, normally it's like packed and sold out
and loud.
And like, it really wasn't.
Like, there was people there, but it was not how it has been in the past couple
years, which was like really interesting to me.
Because last time we were actually up there, we played at T-Mobile.
That's what like everyone was playing.
And we pretty much sold that thing out.
And I say we, like, I think they did.
that because the fever were in town.
And so I don't know why it wasn't.
Is it not Team Mobile?
No, they play in Mandalay Bay.
It's not a Team Mobile?
Uh-uh.
It's, I forget, yeah, I forget what the court is called, but it's like in Mandalay Bay.
Is it their own court?
Like, is it their spot?
Um, Team Mobile is nice.
Team Mobile's really nice.
Team Mobile is so nice.
Like, it's, it's great.
Who plays there?
The hockey team?
The Golden Knights.
Golden Knights.
show. Like, you want to something also crazy about the, I, when I would go to those hockey games,
it's still Vegas. And so everything is like 10 times crazier. They have like a like skating team
that does like CERT to Soley before the game. And you're like, what is? And they're like,
oh, we're literally on Las Vegas Boulevard. Yeah. That's kind of how they're like, that's how their
entertainment is too. And like their music and everything, it's like you're in grace. Like it's like
it's a nightclub. So it's fun. Yeah. It's.
Exactly.
Yeah, it's a cool environment, I guess.
But all good.
Well, um.
Fever fans.
What's one up them?
Yeah.
Well, duh.
We,
I know we'll turn it up.
Let's turn it up a notch.
I will say, I want to hear all about Sunday night football party bus.
I've been,
are you still kind of feeling that a little?
So this was actually one of my longest hangovers of the year so far.
Fucking mark it down.
What did you do?
We just, well, first off, all the Missouri boys were here.
So I had them on this couch, that couch, my new little guest room.
Also, I will say one thing.
Nothing makes you like not only clean up your living space, but like make sure it's at its highest level than having people come stay with you.
So this was the first time I was like hosting.
So I was like getting, I was getting shit like hung up on the walls all day Thursday, making sure,
um, I had sheets, pillows for the guest room.
Like those are all very normal things, but like you don't think to do it.
Yeah, you don't think to do it until like the people have like left for the airport and like,
oh my God, I need clean pillow sheets for them in the guest room.
Um, but I think we crushed.
And so we did this a few years ago when the chiefs played the jets, but we did, like had people
over and then a bus comes and grabs us, hangs out around Manhattan, and then, um, then,
you know, stop at a bar and then go to the game. So did Heidi Gardner actually get on?
Yes. She rolled the whole time. It was like the, she's so, the best treat of all time.
Yeah, I kind of just hit her up and was like, yo, I don't know if you're going to the giant
game, but I have a party bus. Like all my Missouri boys are coming to one.
want to come with us.
And she was like, I also have a party bus.
There's 10 of us.
Like, should we just can join ours?
And I was like, do it.
So she canceled hers and then, like, came to my door with, like, 10 of her homies.
And then they all, we, everyone pre-gamed here.
Some of our friends got here before her.
And I was like, oh, hey, like, what's up?
And they were like, we're Heidi's friends.
We're from Kansas City.
Blah, blah, blah, blah.
And I was like, get cozy, get a beverage.
Like, let's do it.
Then Heidi shows up.
We all go to the bus.
Like, obviously, everyone knows who she is.
She's, like, iconic.
And we're, like, riding around the, we pit stop a bar.
And then I was like, where is Heidi?
Like, everyone's on the bus.
I can't find her.
She comes running around the corner and has three giant pizza boxes,
comes back onto the bus.
And it's just, like, giving them out.
Like, it's like a whole pizza party.
everyone's like taking slices like it was the most fun day ever she was good vibes everyone was good vibes
and like all my friends left her alone for the most part which was cool because she's obviously
you know important to people from kansas city totally normal yeah she's like went to kU for a little bit
transferred to missou dropped out went to la to act and now is like the saturday night live
icon i think she left a freaking icon we need to have her on the damn podcast i think she would
She would in two seconds.
Wait, so you guys like...
Add that to our list.
Yeah, we have like...
There's like picture.
I was just sending her
all of our pictures
from the bus from everyone's like
film cameras and stuff.
But people were saying
in my apartment,
they were like,
how did you and I-D
become friends?
And I was like,
I think Missouri people just find each other.
We do.
And like the thing is...
And we just stick together.
Yeah, we're not afraid to like reach out.
And like everyone's kind of like a chill,
fun, good vibe that like people just click.
Yeah.
And so she invited me over to her house Sunday for the Chiefs Ravens game.
And I was like, see you there.
Wait, just you and Heidi?
No, it's like all our chief's friends.
But I'll probably pull up, bring a bottle of wine to a happy housewarming.
I don't even know if it's her housewarming.
But it was just so fun.
Wait, how old is she, West?
Say it again?
How old is she?
I think she's like 40 maybe.
I don't know.
She looks very youthful.
Yeah, she looks great.
So, yeah, huge staple on the bus.
And then we went to the game, kind of a gross first half,
but they figured it out.
Chiefs were back in the W column.
And then it was like an extra like $200 to have the bus stay in the parking lot
and like wait for us.
Dude, that's not bad at all you really think about that.
No.
So then everyone comes back.
We meet back on the bus.
And it drives us back to Manhattan.
And like it was a nightclub.
in that goddamn bus.
Did you go out after?
No, but it was Sunday.
So you kind of got to behave a little.
But the day started at like one when games kickoff.
It's Sunday.
You got to behave and isn't kickball normally on Sundays?
Kickballs on Thursdays.
And we were recording this three hours before kickoff.
And it's going to be a rainy one.
I may or may not have rain and got football cleats from this pretty good store.
Dude, I still.
One season's over.
come up there and like commentate one of your
You have to. You come play. We can sub as long as
it's not the playoffs.
Oh yeah. Oh, yeah.
I'll sit out. I'll take this a little.
I sing.
If my trainers are watching this, I'm icing.
Yeah, forgot about that. Oops.
It's okay. But I also saw on your freaking Instagram that you're about to do a
celebrity basketball game.
Yeah, I'm kind of nervous.
Yeah. That's actually
the reaction that I feel as well.
Dude, should I hook you up with some Adidas, basketball shoes?
I'm, yes, please.
I'm out.
I, like, all of mine are, like, either I threw out when I moved or...
I've never heard someone say that that I'm out of basketball shoes, weirdo.
Well, I just mean, I don't know.
I have a lot of shoes, and all my B-ball shoes aren't here.
Um, funny.
Can you get Adidas to overnight me some before Saturday?
Dude, yeah, I can, I'll text my, my girl now after, after the pod.
Yeah.
You probably like Uber, Uber some here, maybe.
Any tips going into a celebrity basketball game?
Honestly, I've never been a part of one.
So I have no idea what it even, like, consist of.
Like, is it just all celebrities and you guys are all this, like, hooping?
One of the dudes is from Love Island.
But I think he, like, loves basketball.
His name's Ace.
So, but I can, as long as I think I'm not open for, like, a jump shot in the corner, I'll be fine.
because I can, or if someone makes me go left,
those are the things that can get me in trouble.
Are you going to like, so good.
Are you going to, like, play hard?
Are you going to like?
I know, I'll, like, go with traffic.
Like, however fast everyone's moving, I'll go.
I'm not going to be like a total hardo.
But I'm going to, like, get boards.
I'll get boards.
Hell yeah.
Outlet, outlet, outlet.
I like that.
A couple assists?
Yes.
I like that.
Like, I'll do cool stuff.
Yeah, you should.
Oh, wait, can we tune into this?
I don't know.
It's for the Nets.
It's like to kick off like the Nets season.
Dude, that's actually dope.
I think it's cool and it's outside.
Like New York is so,
it's not like famous for,
but New York has so many outdoor parks
where people like really, really, really hoop.
I kind of feel like you guys are famous for that.
Yeah, there's like ones in town that are like dope.
Yeah.
Dude, I think it's going to be cool.
I think it'll be like a fun little vibe for sure.
Here's like our uniform.
I don't know if I'm going to be black or white, but they like, it'll be fun.
Oh, yeah.

A soccer game is a festival.
It's not just a game.
It's your culture.
I took an elbow to my head, which cracked my skull.
It is an American game.
The Brazilians don't like hearing that, though.
Are they the only ones that don't like that?
Nobody likes that.
As we get ready for the Men's World Cup this summer,

Everyone's a lot of exciting
because their new star is Javier Tichorito Hernandez
Everyone sees me as a football player
But before anything else, I'm human
Every single day I'm still learning how to live with problems
mistakes, relationships, emotions

Where do we come from? What happens after death?
How do you deal with cancellation?
Cristiano or Messi?
Do aliens exist?

Wait, me, I'm going to be able to be.
We are here to connect.

Stay close.
It is a carac.
Wow.
Listen to Learning to Be Human on IHard Radio, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
I try to make you proud.
The next pod after it's either, I'm either going to come to you with like, that was scary.
Or like I really held my own and I think you'd be proud.
I'm not putting this out there, but just watch your knees, okay?
Because you both can't be with bum knees.
Sophie, geez sweet.
Also because it's kickball season.
You're fine.
Yeah, I was about saying you playing kickball every week.
You're fine.
Wes, can we get a stat line for you?
I'm not even going to put
Let's go four points
Let's get real
Realistic
Because everyone's going to play too
See I catch fire
I'm still going to sub let everyone else play
What is catch fire two layups
Or a three in one
Breakaway
Like that
Right place, right time
Let's go to
Let's go four points
Uh
eight
Give me ten boards
Damn
Give me ten boards.
boards forces.
How's that at town?
Shit.
Are we okay with that?
Yeah, I'm, uh, balls through the laws on the boards, babe.
Yeah.
People like, I feel like football guys like, we'll go get the ball.
Well, actually, now that I'm thinking about that, if you, I don't know who these
celebs are, but like, can they shoot?
Is there going to be a lot of rebounds?
So probably.
Like, probably.
And not trying to, like, diminish your like.
No, no.
It's a celeb game.
You can talk, you can say that we're not going to be.
making every
every shot.
Yeah,
yeah,
yeah.
So,
you know,
but I think I'll be like five points West.
I think you need to up your Annie a little.
You think I'll make an,
you think I'll make a three?
Yeah,
I do.
Five,
10,
and four with three fouls.
Okay.
It's also an outdoor park.
So like,
the rims,
like,
it's spatially tougher.
I hate a double rim.
Well,
let's make sure when you shoot,
open both eyes.
I don't know why you had one eye closed.
It looked like he had one eye closed.
Dude.
I'm eye.
You're eyes open to work.
Damn.
Well, I'll try to make you proud.
Real quick, other side of the bracket.
You can plead the fifth and not answer this question.
Okay.
That's probably the smartest choice for me.
Do you want the best for the Phoenix Mercury when you watch them play?
Do you find yourself rooting for them?
Are you...
Okay, I didn't ask.
Okay, fair.
Okay.
Better question.
Yeah.
I'm not even letting you answer.
Okay.
Yeah, I'm not letting you answer.
Who do you want to see if we get past Vegas?
Honestly, I don't care.
Like, I think that we are literally the Cinderella team right now.
And I know early in the podcast, I was like,
the pressure is all in them.
Like, we're just fucking shit up.
But, like, honestly, if you always think about with all of our adversity and everything
we've been through, like, we've seen it all.
and now we just have to go perform because we deserve to be here.
And like if everyone's healthy, we 100% deserve to be here.
But we're not.
And the people who have come in, they've stepped up tremendously.
And it's been so fun to actually watch.
Like, it is hard to sell to actually watch because you want to be out there.
But as a teammate, I'm so proud of them.
And so I'm so focused on like Friday's game and like taking one day at a time
because I know that this team, like, we have enough grit and toughness that like,
whoever you put in front of us, we're like, people don't want to play us.
we're kind of a wild card, which is fun.
So I don't know who I'd want to face off.
Like, they're both great, great teens,
and they're both playing really well
and have MVP candidates and All-Stars on their team as well.
I would probably say Minnesota because it's closer
and it's in the, isn't the same time zone?
No, I think they're central.
Wait, but no, I'm pretty sure Indiana,
and I actually want Kev to Google this.
I think that Indiana and Arizona are two states,
that when daylight saving happens,
daylight savings happens,
you don't flip.
Like, I think you get East Coast
and you also get Central.
Because I know that we,
I know in Arizona, you're right.
But I don't know here.
I haven't been here long enough.
I think Indiana and Arizona are the only two states that do that.
What are,
do any states not set their clocks back
or do they change time zones after daylight savings?
I think Indiana does east,
eastern and central.
Is that coming up or something?
Daylight savings, it might be.
Because that's the only thing is one hour compared to three hours, like the time changes better.
And it's closer flight.
In the U.S., Hawaii and most of Arizona do not observe daylight savings time.
Indiana, it doesn't count for Indiana.
Let me consult with the chat and see what about.
Indiana would be very random.
I feel like...
Indiana used to be one of the states that observed daylight.
That's very impressive, Wes, that you're on this.
Why do you know that?
I just love maps.
Sounds like my mom took Tylenol, huh?
Oh, ho.
I love maps.
Don't care.

No, 5.40. And you're in your apartment?
Yeah, we're on, we're on, we're East Coast. We're on the same time.
Every, oh my God.
Are you sure you're like that?
Okay, well, I, for this whole time, I thought, okay.
Did you think I'm a different time zone?
I thought for some reason that you've been central this whole time
because I think the first like three times we did this
I'm not blaming Kev but he was like
he was like oh so like 9.30 a.m. Eastern standard time for West
and then would like say an hour behind for you and I like really fucking threw me off.
Good work Kev.
I'm going to take the heat on that.
Is it true?
I will say it's somewhat true.
I want to say game.
She was in Phoenix, though.
I was...
Episode two, episode two.
She was in L.A.
But I will say
episode three, I definitely did that,
where I'm like, oh, we could just be fine
using Easter time now.
I'm going to pass the buff further up the line
to another name, but I won't even take it there.
I'm just going to produce this role.
I'm going to take that one.
Okay.
Well, we're learning things now.
So really, you guys are doing behind the scenes
that our podcast is a shit show all over the place.
It's not just me and what.
Also, Kevin.
I've seen someone in the comments section say they need a new producer and now I can no longer be the comments.
That's not true.
You're the best.
You put up with us.
I was telling someone at dinner how I feel like I am a good listener and question asker, but I,
people comment that I interrupt you all the time and I have tried to be better.
But I think you say stuff and it like prompts another question out of me so I keep going.
But I need to be better at like sitting, letting you talk your shit and then like,
maybe be comfortable, silent, and then grab the microphone.
Okay, I'll also say, I catch myself doing that with you too,
but it's also, we're going to be in person, hopefully more,
when we're out of consent.
And it's so much easier to, like, be in person.
So we're doing the good job, and so is Kevin.
So anyone who's saying those negative comments?
Come on.
I got a text yesterday that said, I'm with a big fan.
Can you call me?
So it's the main morning radio host of A-10 Radio and K.
Kansas City.
Oh.
And he was with, he passed the phone to like, I think it's like his daughter's
volleyball teacher.
And she was like, I listen to the podcast every single time it comes out in the first
like few hours.
Like, I love you guys.
Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
She obviously lives in KC.
Yeah.
But I was like, oh, I love that.
And so then I talked to Stephen again.
So shout out Stephen St. John, who's like, one, the best radio voice in the whole country,
but two, a huge Missou guy, big chiefs guy, big rules guy.
And he was like, would love to have you guys.
on. Obviously, we would like promo the pod, but I think if you and I, the next time you and I are in
Kansas City at the same time, we're going to wake up early and go do morning radio in Kansas City.
Well, I'll look like this, even though it's on dinner time, this is how I'll be.
Yeah. That'll be fun.
Speaking of phone interviews, should we get into our tell me something?
So down. The first one is a comment, not a voicemail.
A Mateus Osorno. Mateus, I hope I'm doing you justice.
really like your show.
Congrats from Chile.
Wow, shout out Chile.
I don't know how many times
that's going to happen
in the history of this pod.
But a shout out from Chile is fantastic.
We shouldn't celebrate it while we have it.
Let's do a live show in Chile.
Okay, by the way,
what advice can you give me to deal with an issue
of not finding a partner in all of my 29 years
despite having a nice job,
not getting in trouble, and working on my shape?
Mateus, you're looking at one, brother.
It's don't feel,
bad. Here's what's crazy to me. People are always like, I'm single. I'm the single one.
Brother, you just told me you got a great job. You got money to go travel. You're working on
your shape, which means you got a bang and bod. Hit the streets. Argentina's close to you.
Brazil's close to you. God, see, you just go downhill so fast, West. You're just so good. What do you
mean hit the streets? I don't mean like being like a horn dog. I mean, go live your life. And then it's
going to come to you, you know?
Like, I think people who are like, who need, who feel like they need to be dating someone,
you're going to, you're going to settle, Mattias.
Yeah.
And I don't want that for you.
I want you to live your best life, which already sounds like you've got the ingredients,
you know, someone's going to come when you're not looking, Mattias.
Okay, I agree with all that.
And another thing is I think it's so important to date yourself and, like, not
keep, keep filling your cup up because you have the rest of your life to be worried about
someone else. Like, this is your only time to, like, do what you want and only be worried about
you. Like, guys, think about that. Do you ever think about that? That, like, you have the next,
like, 60 years to be worrying about husband, wife, or kids, or all of that. We're, like,
this is a time where you should be filling up your own cup. Yeah, I will say, Mattias, also,
I think, like, at least for me, my parents' age, they, like,
They were, like, at least in like the 80s, 90s, yeah, it was pretty, it was pretty typical, right?
Like, school, education, marriage, job, kids.
Like, there's a, there was a clear pattern.
I don't think it's as strict as it used to be.
I got a lot of single friends, Mattias, and I'm 30.
Just one fresh year ahead of you.
The clock's not over.
You're a very young cat.
Keep rocking it.
Dude, yeah.
You know, what happened?
I wonder, what is the culture in Chile?
Is it kind of like?
Great question, Soph.
Kev, can we get you for that one?
Let's ask, what is dating culture or what are dating traditions in Chile?
Yeah, dating traditions.
Chat, tell me about.
Is it more traditional in Chile?
Let's see.
Ooh, okay.
They blend Latin American romance, Catholic cultural values,
and a growing modern global.
Dating culture.
Modernized.
You have,
yeah,
Mattias,
you're good.
29 is,
29 is child's play.
Give yourself a little time.
And you're going to crush.
And your 30s are your best years.
So like,
mine.
I've heard that a bunch too.
You're fine.
I like that.
You keep working on that bang and bod you got.
And keep making money.
Yeah.
I want to know his job.
Probably a Chilean lawyer.
That's nice.
Maybe he works in tourism as to like,
Like, make Machu Picchu seem less cool because Machu Picchi is in Peru right above him.
And maybe he's working on getting people down to the Patagonia's.
Dude, West keep rolling, man.
Gosh, my little Mapster.
So good.
Mabster.
Shiboy.
You know, I won the geography B in fifth grade.
Now, why would I know that?
I don't know.
You were probably there.
Did you re-voting for me?
That's not how it worked.
Anyways.
Yeah.
Matt Matt.
Mattias, love you.
Yeah.
Good luck.

I'm not worried about balligan.
I'm not worried about McKinney.

And give you the truth about the U.S. national team.
from inside the program.
It wouldn't be a huge surprise
if our team ends up in the quarterfinals
or potentially a great run into the semifinals.

We've got you covered.

soccer, football, it's home.
Why do I watch the World Cup?
That's like asking me, why do I breed?
I inherited that fandom from my mom.
I like watching it with my dad.
It's a connecting force.
From Futuro Studios, I'm Fernanda Echaberry,
and this is American Football,
a show about soccer culture in the U.S. and its underdog roots.
We go beyond the game to the people and the stories that make it
great. A soccer game is a festival. It's not just a game. It's your culture. I took an elbow to my
head which cracked my skull. It is an American game. The Brazilians don't like hearing that, though.
Are they the only ones that don't like that? Nobody likes that. As we get ready for the men's
World Cup this summer, listen to American football as part of the MyCultura podcast network,
available on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
because their new star is J. Chittarito Hernandez.
Everyone sees me as a football player, but before anything else, I'm human.
Every single day, I'm still learning how to live with problems, mistakes, relationships, emotions, ever since I was born.
And I still have so many questions. Where do we come from? What happens after death?
How do you deal with cancellation? Cristiano or Messi? Do aliens exist? What is love?
Real Madrid or Varsa? From every day an ordinary to the deep and extraordinary.
This isn't a normal podcast.
Everything here is spontaneous, real and genuine.
This podcast is like a deep talk with your closest friends,
where vulnerability comes out.
Conspiracy theories end up on the table,
and goals and lessons are shut.
All in this life has an order perfect and all is just.
Wait me, I'm here to pressur me, but me will go to be going to connect.
The Chicharito.
And Javier El Chicharito Hernandez,
and together with IHA Radio,
we're going to make the ordinary, extraordinary.
Stay close.
It is a carac.
Wow.
Listen to learn.
to be human or IHard Radio, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
Here we go.
Hi, Sophie. It's Marilyn, one of your fans.
I just watch your games on TV.
But what I wanted to know, I was always real tall in my grade school.
And I was just wondering, were you the tallest kid in your class always or not?
whatever.
I just felt real awkward when I was the tallest kid in the class.
But the other question I had was,
what kind of things did you play at recess?
Did you play baseball with the boys?
Did you,
what kind of things did you play outside when you were in elementary school?
That's all I wanted to know.
Thank you. Bye.
What a sweet woman.
Okay, well, first of all, Marilyn, you seem like,
a freaking saint.
Like, she just seems so sweet.
Your voice.
So sweet.
I know.
I'd want to give a hug.
But thank you for supporting us and me, I guess.
I was always pretty much the taller girl.
We had some tall boys in my grave, but, like, all the girls I pretty much towered over.
There's another girl named Katie, and she was super tall, too.
So, like, she's not my good friends.
But I think my parents and, like, my family just gave me confidence to be tall.
And so I embraced it.
So I loved it.
And I know that that's not always the story for a lot of people.
I actually, this is really sad.
I actually hear a lot of tall girls and some boys.
They get bullied for being tall when they're younger.
I'm like, that's so sad.
And so thankfully I was not like that, but I think our parents always told us, like,
that is going to be your biggest superpower is like your height and your strength and all that.
And now I'm playing the WMBA.
So I guess I just like leaned into being confident in that.
So sorry, Marilyn that.
your experience was maybe not like that.
But when it comes to my recess fun,
we played actually a lot of kickball,
a lot of tetherball,
a lot of basketball,
tag,
soccer.
We had a fun recess growing up.
But I remember like tetherball
was a huge thing back then.
Did you go to CCS?
Yeah.
I went to public school
and we could do whatever we wanted.
Dude, did you guys have like the tether balls?
We had tetherball.
I think tetherball was always like on the cusp of being banned
because people were just like getting absolutely smoked.
But we, I like, we played basketball most days.
Sometimes if I got bored, I would go play Foursquare.
Oh, four square.
It was always Zach Hamilton and Rione Tapia against me and Kyle Tonis.
You guys went?
Always just like, Zach and Rione would win like four days of the week.
And then Kyle and I would like, we would sneak one in.
But they were taller and Zach was good at threes.
And Kyle and I just kind of like were more chemistry based.
Dude, I forgot about Foursquare.
We used to play a shit town of Foursquare.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Anyways, Marilyn, that's a really good question.
Yeah, that is.
I love that.
Hey, Feltie.
Hey, Warky.
All the way from Factor.
Fuck K.E. Regwell, because
fuck them.
So I have a question. What do you think I should do?
So a few years ago,
I lent my father four grand
he thought of good
because he's good to venture, right?
Keep in mind, my father had just come back
and my life not long ago, and he said he wanted to
get a business. Anyway,
come to find out years later,
well, this year, that apparently
he's going to loan charge.
So now, the person he lent
the money to doesn't want to pay him back.
So what I'm trying to ask is, like, should I steam my dad for the four grand?
Because he kind of didn't.
He kind of betrayed my trust.
I can't see why freaking even out of my life for all this time?
But I'm like, dude, that's my four grand.
He keeps saying, like, I'll get you back.
I'll get you back.
But I don't know.
Like, I was going to get him to the end of the year.
He gave him back to my four grand.
But should I start looking at the lawyers or something?
I don't know.
I clearly have daddy issues.
So, yeah.
Let me know what you guys
You think I should do
Anyway, love you guide
And word the merch
You want merch now
I used to think that
Podcasts when they would have people call in
I thought the questions were like fake
When they were like so insane
That is bongy
Um
I
I
My biggest question is
What was your relationship like with your dad
Prior to this
Is it like one thing he did
Where you're kind of like
What the fuck
Or like
Has he always been
kind of sketchy. I guess if he didn't know he was like a loan shark, that's all so scary.
What's a loan shark?
Like someone who gives out money, I think, to bookies.
Oh, Wholeshark.
Kev, can we look up the pure definition of loan shark?
A lot of guys.
So, a loan shark, let's see.
Someone or a group who lends money in extremely high interest rates often illegally
and he uses intimidation, threats, or violence.
Like payments.
Okay, so it's like, okay.
So, it's like a legal, like, non-traditional ways of like loaning money and then like kind of being an asshole.
But like, that's how the mob made all their money throughout history.
I've always wanted to be a mobster.
Side note.
But I think that I would have to agree with the fuck KU part.
So I'll give him that.
Right.
I would agree with.
Maybe his dad needs the $4,000, but like, what's that relationship like?
Yeah.
How bad do you need the $4,000?
Yeah, I don't want to say this on air because this would be crazy.
Should I not say it?
I don't want your dad to get, like, beat up because, like, people are after him, you know?
If the 4K that you gave him is, like, keeping him safe, then that's better for him.
but the big question he asked
is do you sue your dad
I don't think you should do that
I don't think you do it either
because I think it sounds like
he might be in some muddy waters
I say just stay weird
yeah stay clear of those waters
and maybe if you don't really need
the four grand too bad right now
then just hold off on it
but don't
that's tough
if your dad thinks maybe
can take advantage of you like that
because he's your dad
maybe we start now setting the standard
that like dad you're not going to do that shit to me moving forward.
Or just stop giving dad the money because he can't handle.
Don't invite him to Thanksgiving.
Obviously you're going to invite him to Christmas,
but let's not invite him to Thanksgiving this year.
That's in like two months.
Make him feel it.
And like, then be like, hey, Christmas,
you know why you weren't Thanksgiving.
And hopefully he starts to kind of like, you know,
that has a crazy call.
Good luck with that, though.
Be safe.
Chiefs are what, their home underdogs this weekend.
If your dad needs, if your dad needs some locks.
Get up west.
I'm not even a betting guy.
I'm not even a sports betting guy.
I just wanted to help his dad.
We do need to get some merch out there, though.
That is like the number one thing that people have been telling me is like merch, merch, merch, merch, merch.
Wow, this is so fun.
What are three core values of a healthy relationship?
and what are the three core values of the Indiana fever?
Do you want the relationship one?
I don't think I should be the one who answers, but I can do it.
Well, let's both answer that one then.
I think you got to go trust.
I think you got to go, I think you got to go history,
because that means something to me.
I think you can judge a person a lot based on, like,
are all their friends, like, very new,
and it feels very like, oh, we're best friends,
we've known each other for like six months
and then they have a new best friend.
I believe in history
or like longevity.
And then let's go
for me,
fun,
laughter.
Like being able to like not take yourself
too seriously.
Those are my three.
And those are also the fevers.
Fun.
Trust.
Damn near.
I wonder.
We over me.
Cats,
character,
accountability,
toughness,
state.
That's one.
There you go.
Do you guys have on the wall anywhere, like a slogan?
You know, we do, but they have been changing our pressures and stuff,
and I haven't been in there in a hot minute since I hurt my leg.
But I do know ours is like standard over feeling.
So that's a good one.
That's a great one.
I love that.
Because like feelings are so up and down.
So like standard of feelings.
I know one of them is we over me.
So like choosing the team of our view.
And then like you're, there's like so many of like accountability, trust, communication,
all those.
But like.
Yeah.
Well, it's going to kill me if I don't remember the one that I was just trying to say.
It's it was about in order of things that matter.
And it's like team, then your position group, then you.
Oh.
But that's like, yeah.
That's kind of the we over me.
Like.
Yes.
Very much so.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I like that.
Those are good.
Well, I would say my, my relationship ones, I think my would be more faith-based.
So, like, that sets a standard.
But out of those, I would say love, communication, and fun.
Love.
Yeah, I also, I guess when I was seeing relationship, I was saying, like, dating, which is why I said trust.
I guess I like, I have a lot of, like, dumb friends who I probably don't trust,
they're so my boys, and that's a good relationship.
Yeah.
But I trust them as in like, it's hard to say.
I think I'm like blindly trustworthy.
You know what I mean?
That's actually such a valid thing that like,
it depends what type of relationship.
I was thinking you was thinking more romantic relationship.
But like, there are so many of like literally my best guy friends or best,
not really girlfriends, but more of my guy friends that like I love them and I trust them.
But if I was trying to date them, I would never date them.
Yeah, of course.
So then, yeah, that's interesting.
And also, like, your parents, like, I have great relationships with them,
and I've never considered trust ever because I feel like that's built in.
Yes.
But, like, our boy who just called, maybe it's not.
So then maybe that is a pillar.
Well, I think also we, when it comes to, like, relationships and stuff,
I think us too really did get blessed with, like, getting, being raised in a great family
of, like, learning those things and, like, being comfortable at home
and having those great relationships with our parents.
that like the more that I'm out in the world and learning,
like we are very blessed.
Like a lot of people do not have that.
No, and I think I've had to learn a lot the last few years about this
and like kind of how it's made me.
And I think that like I probably take for granted those things because it's like so
stable where I grew up and my parents even still today that like I don't walk outside
looking for like a perfect relationship or like feeling like I need to like um like find it
because I've never once felt like it wasn't there for me.
Yeah.
You know?
Yeah.
And like my friends and family relationships are so strong that I don't, I guess I'm not like
trying to perfect relationships that I'm in like dating wise.
Yeah.
Or also.
And it's taking a long time to learn that.
Well, yeah.
But I think, but that's not like.
again, I think everyone has their thing, but that's not your fault that that's all you've known.
So like you're going to have to learn certain things through different situations and scenarios.
But also it's like when we know we can come home or like even call our parents and have like someone who truly loves us, I think, I don't know, it's kind of cool learning about other people's stories.
Because like we relate in different like situations, you know.
It's hard to just wake up and be able to put yourself in other people's shoes perfectly,
but that's kind of why you have a life is to go through those and learn things,
whether that's easy or the hard way.
And then I think by being empathetic and trying to learn from every time you go through something that sucks,
that everyone's journey is different and it shapes us all like.
And we all struggle.
We're all confident in
certain areas, but we also all struggle
like with certain things regardless.
So I don't know. I just think it's all about
listening and understanding. So
I don't know.
Fuck, yes.
So are we
ending two podcasts in a row and wholesome
Dude, I kind of think so.
Look at us go. We're growing up.
Go fever.
What's your
what the hell is wrong with my brain?
What's your kickball team's name?
Beast infection
Oh God
I was going to say
Go beast infection
What the fuck is that?
Yeah
The skies are looking okay
So we might be in luck tonight
Hey it's it's cloudy here in Indy
I'm gonna
So before I hit the plate tonight
I'm gonna do this I'm gonna point towards Indiana
Please do it
And then and then fly out to let you're sure stuff
Yeah I bet you'll hit a home run
A grand slam
Is that a thing in Cape Paul?
If the bases are loaded
Mommasita it's a grand slam
I like that

Everyone sees me as a football player,
but before anything else, I'm human.
Every single day I'm still learning how to live with problems,
mistakes, relationships, emotions, ever since I was born.
This isn't a normal podcast.
Everything here is spontaneous,
and genuine, just honest conversations about what it means to be alive.
I'm Javieril Chichariot-O-Nand-es and listen to Learning to Be Human on I-Hard Radio,
Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
This is an I-Hart podcast, guaranteed human.
