Show Me Something - Sophie Cunningham reacts to Angel Reese on Victoria's Secret runway with Bravo's West Wilson

Episode Date: October 21, 2025

Sophie Cunningham of the Indiana Fever and West Wilson of Bravo’s ‘Summer House’ are back with an all-over-the-map episode that hits everything from sports to fashion to Halloween ca...ndy etiquette. West kicks things off with a Dip Fest recap and a heated debate: is chili a dip or soup? Meanwhile, Sophie finds herself locked out of her house, falls in love with the Arizona State Fair, and reflects on visiting the New York Mets minor leagues. West’s kickball team clinches a playoff spot, and he’s World Series bound after Shohei Ohtani’s NLCS heroics. The crew also dives into Chicago Sky star Angel Reese’s Victoria’s Secret runway moment, a Bravo–Southern Hospitality mashup, Kansas City Chiefs vs. Las Vegas Raiders, celebrating Halloween at 28, and of course… Steak Nuggets. Plus the gang takes voicemails and advises on everything from dating, crowd-surfing and whether or not your teen’s first car should be a clunker. All lines provided by ‪Hard Rock Bet 00:00 - START00:30 - Arby’s official presenting podcast partner 4:00 - West reviews weekend Dip fest 4:45 - Is Chili dip or soup?5:00 - Peanut butter sandwich & chili?! 9:30 - Sophie locked outta her house 11:30 - Sophie rehab with Indiana 12:10 - Ad Break for SKIMS 13:30 - Sophie loves Arizona State Fair   15:30 - West Kickball team made playoffs! 16:00 - Sophie visits Mets Minor League 16:30 - West is World Series bound 16:40 - Shohei Ohtani’s epic NLCS 19:27 - Ad Break for HARD ROCK 20:30 - Victoria Secret Fashion Show21:40 - Angel Reese walks the runway  22:50 -  Bravo & Southern Hospitality SC mashup 24:00 - Kansas City Chiefs crush Raiders 25:00 -  Celebrating Halloween at 28 28:20  - The crew tries Steak nuggets 31:00 - TELL ME SOMETHING  31:10 - Sophie & West musical tastes  35:40 - Dating someone with less money 42:20 - Should your teen’s First car….42:25 - ….be a clunker?#VolumeSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Starting point is 00:02:27 Like absolutely killed it. And I, oh my God, I text my agents right away. And I was like, please. Like, this. This has been a dream of mine since I've been like second grade. I always wanted to be a Victoria's Secret Angel. Like, oh God, and I love Candace. Candice is my favorite. She's like the most stunning one. They're all stunning.
Starting point is 00:02:47 What am I saying? Well, let's do it. Like, how do we get you on there? I don't know. But I think it'd be so fun to walk in that fashion show. Welcome back to Show Me Something podcast. If it sounds like there's food in our mouth, it's because they're eating the whole time. We now have an official.
Starting point is 00:03:18 sponsor boys and girls and it's the great people over at Arby's round of applause huh for everyone at Arby's from the C-suite to the to the staff and local Arby's across the nation
Starting point is 00:03:35 we just want to say we love you yeah and this is a quite natural relationship because Sophie has been spotted in her pregame Donald's wearing Arby's merch well let me tell you how it actually happens. So this actually kind of goes back because I have
Starting point is 00:03:53 always actually been a fan of Arby's. I think their sauce is hands down some of the best sauce that you could ever get. Like if I had a roast sandwich, I probably put two or three packs on it. Like I want that thing, doused. Doused. So like a year and a half ago, almost two years, I was getting something done with my tooth that was at the orthodontist. And I was, you know,
Starting point is 00:04:16 kind of on some Lapping gas. And I got home and I was like, I'm starving. So I naturally was just like door dashed Arby's and I got like two roast beef sandwiches. I got like a ham and cheese slider, curly fry, a milkshake. And the whole, the thing is like that was that was naturally me. I didn't even know I did that. But I recorded it. Put it on TikTok. And then like seven months later, they're like, hey, we saw your food review and we loved it. Would you like to work together? And so that That's when the Hot Girls Eat R.B. shirt came out. There's a hat that has beef.
Starting point is 00:04:52 Like, their actual, like, shirt, hats, all their apparel is funny as hell. Like, it is funny stuff. My boy Rob, who was on Love Island last year, he was wearing some Hot Girls Eat Arby's, like overalls the other day. They're awesome. So the Arby's family guys, really right here. So we have my, I have like my family eating it again. Like, they gave me gift cards. I've been hand out, you have cards, and people were like,
Starting point is 00:05:19 I forgot how good Arby's really is. I was like, duh. My mom, like, loves a roast beef sandwich. She goes to go as Arbys when we were little all the time. And it's just, yeah, it's their bread and butter over there. And I think we're going to get to these steak nuggets. I think maybe later. I'm going to try not to eat them this whole time.
Starting point is 00:05:39 Dude, I think there's like a, I've got barbecue sauce in my bag, which I typically actually am not always. Barbecue is not my go-to condiment if I'm doing like regular nuggies or fries or something but on a roast beef I do think that that is the only way to go This, my friend, is the only way to go.
Starting point is 00:06:01 What is that? This is the Arby sauce. This is like, it's not barbecue. I don't even know what it is, but it is so good. Well, so that's why we're going to be chomping this whole episode. Sorry, not sorry. They really shouldn't have given us food while doing this because both of us will eat.
Starting point is 00:06:17 Yeah. You know what you didn't get that I also have? Dude, I'm going to take. Yeah. I could have been sharing with you. But speaking of all this, what is the dip fest? The guy.
Starting point is 00:06:33 Because it looks awesome. Yeah. Well, first off, I flew in Sunday morning from South Carolina. At 7 a. went home, shower changed, and then I basically co-host
Starting point is 00:06:49 we've done it two years in a row. I don't act that we've been doing it for fucking for like 10 years. But like, we've done it twice now. My friend Monica, who's like a TikTok chef, last year was like, hey, want to like be a, help me co-host this like dip contest.
Starting point is 00:07:04 So everyone brings dips. Last year was a lot of buff chicks and a lot of French onion dips. This year we had a little bit better variety. One of my friends, one of my best friends names is Mitch. He loves making chili. And often like to chili, like you put a cracker in it.
Starting point is 00:07:23 Are you out on that? No, I saw your story. I don't think that chili's a dip. Well, it was a soup. Do you think it's a dip? I certainly have dipped plenty of things in chili. A thousand percent, but you're making that as like your main course. that like you dip like crackers or like when you have chili,
Starting point is 00:07:47 don't you normally eat like chili with like then like a little Sammy on the side or something? Yeah. And what do you do with that sandwich? Well, normally we eat peanut butter sandwiches. But I normally, I know. I don't know. I don't know. I feel like cheese and like crackers in my chili.
Starting point is 00:08:03 I don't know. Maybe I'm weird. I have no idea. No, I think I think we're in the minority. But it's like my friend loves making chili and it's like how often can you like host your friends, whatever. So there's like a, he, so there's two categories.
Starting point is 00:08:20 There's myself and Monica and who we judge. And we just do a first and second place. Fucking first place, I still can't even believe this. First place won an open bar for friends for 75 people. And the girl was like, I don't even fucking know 75 people. I had to like double check. I was like, are they really giving away an open bar to 75 people for the winners?
Starting point is 00:08:41 They were. for like a whole night or is it like a hour? Yeah. No, I think it's like a few hours. Yeah, that's insane. So crazy. So like all my friends come, like support my friend Mitch and then try all the dips. And like it's in this bar that's in the West Village.
Starting point is 00:08:59 It's like kind of like a basement. It feels very like college grungy in the best way. I just watch football and like literally eat all these people's dips. Second place was a bacon onion. Was the first dip the chili that won? He won, so he won the voting people's choice. So everyone who comes gets a ticket and then they vote on their favorites. Mitch won that one.
Starting point is 00:09:20 Okay, okay. So we were like, oh, yeah, awesome. But the winner was like a Mexican alote street corn dip. Oh, hell yeah. So fire. And then turns out, she's like a sous chef or like some famous guy. And like, like. Well, that doesn't kill?
Starting point is 00:09:38 I mean, it was fucking awesome. Like she crushed it. She was like, She said she melted down butter, spiced butter, and then, like, put it on top. Like, it was so good. Oh, it was special. But everyone was good. Like tortilla chip?
Starting point is 00:09:55 Yeah, we had kind of like, you know, like, um, the one that's there, like homemade, like kind of the triangley. Oh, yeah. Like, yeah, yeah, yeah, fried. We had those. But there were also to Cetus scoops in the house as well. Yeah. And then we were just, we hang out of this bar, like, the whole day.
Starting point is 00:10:12 watch. Wait, we one second. Second was a, uh, it was a bacon onion dip. They like chopped up bacon and like sprinkled it on the top. Um, I was a group of like four girlfriends. Those are the type of events that I want to be invited to. Yeah, yeah. I got you.
Starting point is 00:10:28 I could. That's, that's right at my eye. I did see you, was it a like an Oreo dip that you dip in a strawberry? I was just going to fucking bring that up. Good call. Because it looks good. It's like, I don't know how they do it. It's clearly like,
Starting point is 00:10:42 it's like dairy based and then it's Oreo so it's like a cookies and cream like tray of and it's like it's just like whipped cream and Oreos essentially is what it feels like and then they dice
Starting point is 00:10:58 it cut up strawberries and then that's your vehicle for that one. I like that one. I like that. That one was really rocking. That one felt like a little it's original
Starting point is 00:11:11 which I like, but it's also like it's sugar. Like it's hard to, I think, fuck that one up. Yeah. Yeah. You know. I feel like if you were to like really get technical on it, it's like you need like an appetizer, like a salty, savory type and then like a sweet type of two different ones, you know. It's funny because you go through and you like put them all on your plate and you like try them out.
Starting point is 00:11:34 But then you're then they're just sitting there for the next like two hours when we watch football. And you like, you just kind of like hang out. by the, all of them and... Well, yeah. A lot. I like that. Yeah. Where are you currently?
Starting point is 00:11:50 Arizona. I am picking up this house. Yep. Did you get locked out this week? Yeah. How'd that happen? I saw that on Instagram. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:00 So this door, normally it's like an electronic thing. They just plug it in and it opens for you automatically. And it broke on me. So with this, there's no keys to the house. Like, because there's not a, yeah, so it's like, that's the only thing that can get you in. And so I was like, well, shit. So they came and they put like a lock and stuff on it. So I have like a couple keys.
Starting point is 00:12:24 I went to do my rehab early, early in the morning, like 6 a.m. That's early for me. Left my key there. Uber back. I was locked out of my house. Like, I, yeah, it was just kind of a shit show of a day. But honestly, I'm kind of feeling like my life is a shit show. now because I have clothes and stuff everywhere at this house.
Starting point is 00:12:45 I have clothes and stuff everywhere in the Indiana house, stuff in my parents' house, about to buy a house in Florida. Like, I just, my life is fun. Are you like officially leaving Phoenix though? Yes and no. Like, I'm still going to be around because I'm going to do the majority of my rehab out here. But like living, yeah, like living here and like having a place here, no. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:09 Yeah, see you later. Damn. Yeah. Yeah, I know. It's kind of sad. Like a chapter ending, but I'm excited for it. Like, it's been fun. So, you know.
Starting point is 00:13:18 Of course. It's always sad moving, like leaving somewhere that you. It is, but I also think. You've been in Indiana, so you've had time to, like, know you're leaving and, like, do it slowly. But it's just, like, where I'm going to be next. Because, like, you kind of know, like, when you're not filming, you're kind of, like, in off season. And so New York is the perfect tub to live to do all that. But, like, I also don't want to be in the cold.
Starting point is 00:13:43 And so that's why it's like, I'll be between here, Missouri and Florida, or like my kind of triangle. But technically, I'm not signed to Indiana. So I'm like. Free age? Mm-hmm. Wow. I know. Wow.
Starting point is 00:13:59 Kind of crazy, huh? Like your rehab program, is it not a team, like, are you not, it's not coming from a team doctor from Indiana? So I'm, you're, it is. So I'm still like working up to them or working up to, too, working. with them up to a certain point. And then if I resign, then I can continue to work with them. But I have Frank out here who's doing it. And then
Starting point is 00:14:23 Todd and Maria are doing it back in Indiana. But like who's Frank? Is he like a, is he like a Mercury guy? Or is he just like a sports? No, I don't. No, no, no. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I don't do anything with that organization at all. I mean, I figured, but I just didn't know where you'd like.
Starting point is 00:14:39 Yeah. Big no-no. Yeah. Big no-no. So. Ladies, besties, listen up. The Skims' Fits Everybody Collection is a game changer. I'm talking next level comfort. The way the fabric moves with your body is absolutely unreal. It's soft, light, and honestly, it's giving main character energy.
Starting point is 00:14:58 It's the most comfortable thing I've ever put on my body, and it just fits. I've been a Skims Girlie for years and recently tried the Fits Everybody Collection. But the Skims' song, it's a whole new world. No discomfort. Just simply, wow. In the triangle brawlett, as a self-appointed brawlett snob. This one, absolutely won MVP. Supportive but chill, no squeeze, no stress.
Starting point is 00:15:22 Just the perfect lift and support. And I don't think underwear could be a life-changing thing, but Skims really said, hold my beer. So if you've been waiting for a sign to try the Fits Everybody Collection, this is it. Shop the Skims'Fits Everybody Collection at skims.com. Starting point is 00:15:47 And if you're looking for the perfect gifts for everyone on your list, the Skims Holiday Shop is now open at skims.com. What I was going to tell you, though, I went to the Arizona State Fair on Friday. That was it amazing. It was so fun. Like, I had a blast. They do that in Phoenix. Like, what part of Arizona is that?
Starting point is 00:16:09 Phoenix. I feel like there's always a bunch of festivals going on. around Arizona. But, I mean, Phoenix is like the most central hub. And there's people from every, it was so packed. But the rides for 10 out of 10. I was going to ask for you ate. Oh, well, I've been kind of having some stomach issues lately.
Starting point is 00:16:28 Oh, no. No, it's funny. Well, it's not funny, but like it's, it is what it is. And so all I really ate there was fried Oreos. Yeah, I was going to say, I hope you ate something fried. Well, yeah, but I wanted to get like a, a corn dog. Oh, I had pineapple whip. That's always a good one.
Starting point is 00:16:47 But normally I go in on it, but my stomach has been brutal, dude, brutal, brutal. What do you think's going on? I don't know. I'm like allergic to, or not allergic, highly, highly sensitive to like dairy, beef, fork, pineapple, rice, seaweed,
Starting point is 00:17:02 any type of cheese. But I don't believe in that. I don't believe in this is a pretty test, to be honest. No, I know. It's not. It's not. Have you ever seen to? Dr. Stricker. Yeah, I was going to say he's like a specialist, isn't he? Yeah, he, like you go in and they stab you with all the things.
Starting point is 00:17:22 Yeah. That are like, it's like, like, lobster, fucking dust, dogs, cats. And then whatever you get like really shitty hives from your allergic to, I guess. I know. And mine is just seafood, but I can eat seafood and I'm fine. That's what I'm saying. Like, I think it's just like the ebbs and flows. Like I don't, I don't really.
Starting point is 00:17:41 know what it is. So it is what it is. I'll be fine. But at least I have Arby's now. A little beef in me. Not allergic to Arby's. Am I sweating? Anyway. But Jake Ball, how was it? We won. We made the playoffs. Oh, that's big time.
Starting point is 00:18:04 I was fucking dialed. Nice. Oh. Okay. I think it was the first inning. I'm like rounding third. They get the ball in pretty quick. Pitcher goes to like peg me out and I gave him a hezzy like I was going to go back to third and he fucking threw the ball way behind. It was I just had to give him a little shaking beat, you know.
Starting point is 00:18:27 Dude, I like that. Those are the fun ones. I was at a little minor ball baseball game last night. I don't know why that reminded me of it. It was so fun. So my cousin's boyfriend is got drafted to the Mets. And he's like good. he's a pitcher, he's a reliever.
Starting point is 00:18:44 And this one guy was like literally stole every base and then he scored. Like I've not seen that in so long. I don't think that's normal. No. He's fast. Yeah. And I'm going to game one and two of the World Series. So I like care about this because I'm either going to Toronto or I'm going to L.A.

Starting point is 00:19:38 The knockout rounds are here. The U.S. won their group, and now every match is winner go home. I'm Tad Ramos. And I'm Tom Boger. On our podcast, Inside American Soccer, we'll talk about the real storylines. I'm not worried about Policic. I'm not worried about Balagan. I'm not worried about McKinney. My only concern is what happens in the back. And give you the truth about the U.S. national team from inside the program. It wouldn't be a huge surprise if our team ends up in the quarterfinals or potentially a great run into the semifinals.
Starting point is 00:20:17 Whether you're a lifelong fan or this is your first World Cup. got you covered. Listen, inside American soccer with Tom Bogart and Tabramos and the iHeart radio app, Apple Podcasts, wherever you get your podcast. I love the sounds, the buzzing from the stadium, the chanting from the fans, the announcers calling the place soccer, football, at home. Why do I watch the World Cup? That's like asking me, why do I breed?
Starting point is 00:20:50 I inherited that fandom from my mom. I like watching it with my dad. It's a connecting force. From Futuro Studios, I'm Fernando Chavari, and this is American Football, a show about soccer culture in the U.S. and its underdog roots. We go beyond the game to the people and the stories that make it great. A soccer game is a festival. It's not just a game. It's your culture. I took an elbow to my head, which cracked my skull. It is an American game. The Brazilians don't like hearing that, though.
Starting point is 00:21:23 Are they the only ones that don't like? As we get ready for the Men's World Cup this summer, listen to American Football as part of the My Coutura Podcast Network, available on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Because their new star is Javier T. Torito, Hernandez. Everyone sees me as a football player, but before anything else, I'm human. Every single day, I'm still learning how to live with problems, mistakes, relationships, emotions ever since I was born.
Starting point is 00:22:03 And I still have so many questions. Where do we come from? What happens after death? How do you deal with cancellation? Cristiano or Messi? Do aliens exist? What is love? Real Madrid or Varsa?
Starting point is 00:22:13 From every day and ordinary to the deep and extraordinary. This isn't a normal podcast. Everything here is spontaneous, real and genuine. This podcast is like a deep talk with your closest friends. Where vulnerability comes out. Conspiracy theories end up on the table and goals and lessons are shared. All in this life has an order
Starting point is 00:22:31 perfect and all is just Wait me. I'm going to put me but I'm going to connect The Chicharito
Starting point is 00:22:36 Oh Javier El Chichar Hernandez and together with Aija Radio we're going to make the ordinary
Starting point is 00:22:41 extraordinary stay close It is a carac Listen to learning to be human on IHard Radio Apple Podcast or wherever you
Starting point is 00:22:50 get your podcast I should know this but I'm so bad with names I know his face he's the guy who hits like three home runs
Starting point is 00:22:57 Oh Johnny it's the best best baseball game anyone's ever played maybe ever That's insane He threw 10 strikeouts and I think it gave up I don't want to get it wrong It was like two or three hits maybe
Starting point is 00:23:11 And then he hit three fucking home runs How? How? It's bonkers He'll be talked about with like Michael Jordan and shit Because of this stuff like What makes him so good? Like he's like phenomenal I don't know
Starting point is 00:23:25 As someone who's not I'm really like played much actual baseball in my life. So I don't know how to explain it. I mean, he's a freak out of like, because he can pitch and hit. That's why he's like, yeah, that's insane. But they, they just swept. They've only lost one game this whole playoffs, the Dodgers.
Starting point is 00:23:42 That's insane. Actually, we're kind of getting into this last night with a bunch of people at like, the bar on if, I mean, it's fine to hate, like, hating the Yankees and the Mets and the Dodgers and shit because they have so much money and they just spend money. No. But like, if they're super. teams are if they're like ruining baseball. I don't think they're ruining baseball.
Starting point is 00:24:02 But baseball is weird because there's no salary cap, you know. Yeah. Yeah. Whereas football, the reason there's a lot of parody in football is because there's a salary cap. And it's built for everyone to, for it to be fair. And baseball is like insane. Like they, yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:21 They pay, I believe the Dodgers payroll is more than all of the AL Central combined, which is like the royals and the type like it's fucking wild that's insane that's actually insane and if you think about it like I get it because it's like all right well if you can't afford it then sell it or like try to get more money do something but also the flip side of it is like it's not like cool but it's not that fun if like if it's so extreme on both ends I agree I agree um that's why when the royals won in 2015 it was like the cool thing ever because we are very small market and like don't have money like these teams do. That's kind of why it's like I don't, I can't.
Starting point is 00:25:07 I wanted to move here like maybe River the Yankees some days, but I fucking, I don't. Can't do it. I, nope. But in the Dodgers defense, the Mets have the highest payroll in the MLB this year and they didn't even make the playoffs. So like they are good. They're so good and like earning it. But it is just like crazy.
Starting point is 00:25:30 Yeah. They're just stacked. Yeah. So I'll be at the game one and two of this, when this series is over. Starting point is 00:27:20 Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, New Jersey, Ohio, Tennessee, Virginia. Yeah. Why didn't you go to the Victoria Secret fashion show? Actually, if that night that was happening, I kind of was like, I would have loved to know about this. How did you not know? That's like my Super Bowl. This is like very, it's like right now we're in the thick of football and baseball playoffs. I think I'm just my, I'm like really sports dialed in right now. But I was like, whoa, there's a lot of hot girls there. Was Sally walking in it?
Starting point is 00:27:54 Sophie, you fucker. No, but I got tagged in a ton of Sierra videos and pictures because she was there. Oh, at the Ventuary Secret? Anytime she looks hot, anytime Sierra looks hot, I can't turn my fucking phone on
Starting point is 00:28:16 without having like a zillion tags being like, whoa. She didn't walk in though, did she? I don't know if she walked. I think she... Was just like a guest? Yeah, I mean, she looked, creed, but.
Starting point is 00:28:28 Dude, I'm sure she did. She's stunning. Angel walked in it. Oh, right. Yeah. She killed it. Like, absolutely killed it. And I, oh my God, I text my agents right away. And I was like, please. Like, this has been a dream of mine since I've been like second grade.
Starting point is 00:28:47 I always wanted to be a Victoria's Secret Angel. Like, oh, God, and I love Candace. Candice is my favorite. She's like the most stunning one. They're all stunning. What am I saying? Well, let's do it. Like, how do we get you on there?
Starting point is 00:28:59 I don't know. But I think it'd be so fun to walk in that fashion show. But Angel really did kill it, like kill it. She looks stunning, so beautiful. How tall are most of those girls? I don't know. I'd say probably like five, ten to six one. I'm going to say, I mean, you have like the height for it, right?
Starting point is 00:29:21 Yeah, but I don't really have the boobs. They're going to really need a big push-up braw for me. I feel like boobs are kind of coming back, I guess. Yeah, I don't know. But so why did you get off the topic of Sally so much? I want to know more. Was it a double date or was it just for fun? No.
Starting point is 00:29:43 I had to do a Captain Morgan event at the University of South Carolina on Saturday. And she went there. And then there's two people from another show in South Carolina. and he lives in Columbia. That Columbia, Columbia, South Carolina. So I was like, yeah, I'm going to be in County as like, show me where to go.
Starting point is 00:30:10 And they just took me out to all the college bars and it was really fun. It's like similar to our Columbia. Just a lot of like cheap bars with a zillion college kids running around. I love it. Not trying too hard, you know. Oh. Was it fun?
Starting point is 00:30:30 Yeah, the game, they got smacked, which I don't really care about. South Carolina got smacked? Yeah, they played Oklahoma. Oh. But, like, what do I care? But, I mean, yeah, it's like, I will never complain that my job is to fly to host a tailgate for a day in an SEC town. What else is going on here? Chiefs beat the fucking shit out of the Raiders.
Starting point is 00:30:52 That was good. We don't have to talk about that much. That was an awful game to watch, to be honest. bad. Did you watch? Yeah, I did. But I enjoyed it. I think that's a good little confidence booster.
Starting point is 00:31:04 Everyone played well. But like, it was a boring game to watch, but at least we're winning. So like I'm not ever going to complain about that whatsoever. It looks beautiful. Oh my God. It looked like beautiful weather out on Sunday. My mom and dad went. I'll show you a picture of them.
Starting point is 00:31:17 They went and they picked up food and then they sat and ate in the car together and had a little tailgate together. Look. Just moving. Aw. there she is. What did they get? I have no idea. My dad used to take us to Gates on our way to air, right?
Starting point is 00:31:37 Yeah, cute. It doesn't really pick up. Oh, because it's right there, but yeah. Wait, what are you going to be for Halloween? Any clue? I have no Halloween plan yet. That's weird, because Halloween's on a Friday this year, too, so you feel like I'd be doing something, but I have no plan jet.
Starting point is 00:31:54 What are you doing? I feel like you have something fun planned. I will say, doing Summer House, we dress up for all these parties. Yeah. Then I get, like, tired of dressing out. I get costumed out by, like, the end of summer. Dude. And then Halloween just shows up, and I'm like, oh, my God, I got to fucking dress up again.
Starting point is 00:32:18 I don't know. We'll see. You're going to go do something, though? Yeah, if I'm here. I think I have to go to Jacksonville the day after, but I think there's a party Thursday. day. Oh. Not if we're in kickball playoffs still, though.
Starting point is 00:32:33 Don't you kind of feel like, unless you're in a bigger city, that like, all right, it's just kind of weird. Like, what do you do? Because, like, you're out of the stage of like, like, no, I still like a good costume party, but I'm saying like, our, okay, this is going to sound bad. It's like you're out of the stage of like dressing like horrors and doing all that for the majority of people. And then like, but you're not grown enough to like go trick or treating with like,
Starting point is 00:32:58 kids unless you have like your nieces and nephews around like like do I just stay home and give candy to the kids coming to the door that's wholesome and like you could put on a movie and drink some wine and like give out candy like I think you would I think you would feel like fulfilled doing that like that would be cute and you can like talk to the kids and say like love your costume blah blah blah blah blah but it's harder like I've well one New York City is all apartments and the kids can't. Wait, that's sad. Yeah, I don't know how kids do it here.
Starting point is 00:33:33 But you're not like going into buildings and like knocking on units and shit. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I would imagine parents, I would love to know what parents do with their kids here. Uh, they probably like, wait, Keff. Oh, oh, yay, Kay. So, um, so your apartment building, you have like a sign up list and you're like, are you down to give out Gandy and Halloween?
Starting point is 00:33:55 And you put your name and, like, your apartment number on the list. And then all the people in our building get emails and be like, hey, there's the units that you can go to. And then kids come and knock and, you know, do the little thing. But so it's inside, though. They're not like. Yeah, yeah, you're inside the dolding the whole time, I guess. So you're, like, walking upstairs and elevators to trick or tree. It's a little different than being out in the suburbs.
Starting point is 00:34:14 Suburb Halloween's probably sound a little bit more fun. You see the houses and the decorations. Like, I'm not decorating shit. So, you know. Wait. So do the majority, people give out, like sign up to give out candy to the kids? I would say you get a pretty good amount, but then you got to also know that like not everybody in your apartment's got kids, right?
Starting point is 00:34:33 So there are certain people who are like, I'm not. Well, yeah, even if you don't have candy, you can still hand out candy. Whoa, don't get that at me. I'll take it up with the building, all right? Like, you know what? We're to call RB's. We're giving out steak nuggets for Halloween. Everybody in the unit gets steak dugs.
Starting point is 00:34:48 Dude. Get one nugget each. I know what you all do one. Every can take one. Every one. One steak nugget. You guys were definitely not the type to follow those take one rules. I know for a fact.
Starting point is 00:35:00 I was. I was. Or if I did like someone's candy and they weren't like, they just left a bowl out. I would give the candy I didn't like, put that in the bowl and take the ones that I did like. Sof, do you have steak nuggets in front of you? Oh yeah, I do. I'm going to bust them out before we get into. They're good.
Starting point is 00:35:18 The seasoning on them are fire. Like, good. This is my first time. I cannot stop with the fucking fries. I know the fries are addicting. So I'd actually had these before, and I think they're good. Steak nuggets. Oh, you're using a fork?
Starting point is 00:35:37 Look at this. I won't use the fork if you don't use the fork. No, yeah, I was just going to use my hands. Okay, first bite of steak nug. Dude, cheers it. Cheers. You're going to be shot with how moist these are. Oh.
Starting point is 00:35:53 Oh. Oh. Yeah. And you get quite a bit. I guess I didn't know what you expect. Mm-hmm. They're very tender. It's almost like a jerky.
Starting point is 00:36:11 Yeah, that's a good call. They're very seasoned. Mm-hmm. Dude, they're good. I'm telling you. Yeah, I was really thinking I was going to need a sauce. But you don't... But you don't need a sauce.
Starting point is 00:36:22 Dude, you don't need sauce at all. I don't think I got the Arby sauce. I want it. So you really? I could eat these without any sauce, but I do kind of want to try it with Arby sauce just because I'm addicted to it. Yeah, I'm jealous.
Starting point is 00:36:39 That's the sock. It's like a whole new way to nugget. Like your nugget just got steak. Ooh, ooh, ooh, mm. I worked out before this podcast. This is a good protein. I'm really trying to like our podcast.
Starting point is 00:36:58 It's weird. They're sauceless because they're still like, like full of sauce. I don't even know how that makes sense. Like they're very tender. Okay, what flavor is that? Vanil.
Starting point is 00:37:11 Oh, it's not chalk. Plain vanilla. No chalk. No cookies and cream, no chalk, no strob. This is good. Oh, I am full too. And I've only even had half of these.
Starting point is 00:37:25 Yeah, I feel like because we're not, using sauce that's like a whole new way to nugget. These steak nuggets are probably hands down. Probably one of my favorite things right now. They probably be good on the go on the fly. Just popping steak nuggets and down guzzle. Ha ha. Are we just on to something?
Starting point is 00:37:42 Now that we're kind of full, let's get into, tell me something. Hi guys. My name is Jenny. I am from the Pittsburgh area. And I was wondering what some of your favorite. musical artists are if you like going to concerts, if you've ever crowd surfed, that's kind of my thing.
Starting point is 00:38:02 So just curious. Look forward to hearing your answer. Bye-bye. Wait. Okay, Jenny. You should like to crowd surf? What? Respect.
Starting point is 00:38:15 Uh, wait, I want to put Jenny on one of my coworkers who works a complex. And he goes and interviews people at concerts in the mosh pit. And he, like, wears helmet. and like take some mic and just it's it's so good i think everything he does is amazing his name's jordan so if you want to look up go to complex music and he's like the craziest guy ever um
Starting point is 00:38:36 my music taste is pretty uh like it's not like super niche or anything like i like a lot of hip hop um love a good like old rock and roll song i'm like nothing like super crazy my dad people always think my dad loves country because he's a cowboy, but my dad hates country music. My dad's favorite, my dad's favorite genre is Brazilian jazz. So growing up, we listened to a lot of Brazilian jazz in my house. Listen, Inside American Soccer with Tom Bogart and Tabramos in the IHeart Radio app. podcast wherever you get your podcast. I love the sounds. The buzzing from the stadium, the chanting
Starting point is 00:40:45 from the fans, the announcers calling the place soccer, football, it's home. Why do I watch the World Cup? That's like asking me, why do I breed? I inherited that fandom from my mom. I like watching it with my dad.
Starting point is 00:41:01 It's a connecting force. From Futuro Studios, I'm Fernanda Chavari, and this is American Football. a show about soccer culture in the U.S. and its underdog roots. We go beyond the game to the people and the stories that make it great. A soccer game is a festival. It's not just a game. It's your culture.
Starting point is 00:41:23 I took an elbow to my head, which cracked my skull. It is an American game. The Brazilians don't like hearing that, though. Are they the only ones that don't like that? Nobody likes that. As we get ready for the Men's World Cup this summer, Listen to American Football as part of the My Culture Podcast Network, available on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:41:46 Because their new star is Javier T. Torito Hernandez. Everyone sees me as a football player, but before anything else, I'm human. Every single day, I'm still learning how to live with problems, mistakes, relationships, emotions, ever since I was born. And I still have so many questions. Where do we come from? What happens after death? How do you deal with cancellation? Cristiano or Messi?
Starting point is 00:42:15 Do aliens exist? What is love? Real Madrid or Barza? From every day and ordinary to the deep and extraordinary. This isn't a normal podcast. Everything here is spontaneous, real and genuine. This podcast is like a deep talk with your closest friends. Where vulnerability comes out.
Starting point is 00:42:31 Conspiracy theories end up on the table and goals and lessons are shared. All in this life has an order perfect and everything is just. Wait me. I'm going to be able to be able to be. We are here to connect. I'm Jicharito. And together with IHard Radio, we're going to make the ordinary, extraordinary.
Starting point is 00:42:48 Stay close. It's a carac. Wow. Listen to learning to be human on IHard Radio, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. I would not have guessed that, but actually a lot of real cowboys and cowgirls like rap. They like some country, but they prefer hip-hop and rap. Isn't that a weird fact? I think that my dad finds it to be like gimmicky in like 220.
Starting point is 00:43:12 and like dumb and like makes it look like but I I the pop country stuff I like I do like Morgan Wallen music is good I like Casey Musgraves um see now you're's talking my language country to the core baby but then but don't like country music fans claim like not claim Morgan Wallen because they say he's like too hip or two pop no we claim him like they're like the more like modernized country. Like there's like old country and that's like the twang and stuff. And that you have to have maybe a certain ear to like that type of stuff because I like some of it. Do you?
Starting point is 00:43:48 Like some of it, but I don't like. I also don't like some of it because it's too like twangy. But I love like the Morgan Wall and Cody Johnson. Oh my God. His concert, hands down the best concert I've probably ever been to. You have Riley Green. Like these new and upcoming love, love, love, love, love. See, I don't know any of those names.
Starting point is 00:44:12 Oh, God, we need to go. You would love it. But I also, I don't have favorites. Like, I'm not an extremist in any way. So, like, I love hip-hop. I love rap. I love Afro beats. Afro beats is a nice little workout.
Starting point is 00:44:28 I am, like, blown away that I used to be able to wake up, like, in college. I could wake up and start playing fucking rap. The second I woke up and listen to it, all day and I went to bed. And now I like... But I think because I'm older, I just don't, I'm not like, all the time. And we would wake up, have workouts,
Starting point is 00:44:51 wrap the whole time, wrap on the way to class. And I was just like, I could never like, oh. See, I get like tired of that shit. Because I, that is it. Like, we, as an athlete, that's what you listen to 24-7. And like, I love it. Don't get me wrong. Like, I love that stuff.
Starting point is 00:45:06 But like, I need my country. You know, the only music, that I really can't do is like the hard metal rock monster scary stuff. Like screamo. Yeah, I can't do that. That's like the only kind I don't like. Yeah, I like a lot of like indie like
Starting point is 00:45:21 people now. Like everyone says that it's like being a performative male but like I love Clero and all those and like litany and stuff like that. Yeah. You know what I would love to go to though? And I don't know if this is like, I don't even know what you'd consider this, but I would love to go to a symphony.
Starting point is 00:45:39 Ooh, I wouldn't have picked that for you. That would be fun. I would love to do that. When you visit New York for Christmas, we can do like a New York Christmas symphony thing or something. Yes. I like that. Good question, Jenny.
Starting point is 00:45:56 I hope you crowd surf more in your future, but you're safe. I want you to be safe, Jenny. Dude, I was just about to say that. Hopefully you're safe. I see the ones where they all try to jump and then they fall because there's no one there to catch them or move them to the next person. Dewey Finn in School of Rock. That's what he tries in the beginning of the movie.
Starting point is 00:46:13 And he doesn't land it. Good call. Great, good movie. All right, Jenny, thanks for the call. We got another one here. You guys know I couldn't let you go without a dating question. Hey, guys, great podcasts. My name is Anthony from San Antonio.
Starting point is 00:46:29 I was just curious. So for Wes, if you knew, like, this is a dating question. If you knew you, like, had less assets than a girl that you were, you know, pursuing, would you feel insecure about that? And then question for Sophie, kind of similar. Like, if you knew you had more assets than the guy, like, would you, like, want him to, like, I guess, like, level up and, like, maybe earn more or have the same amount of assets
Starting point is 00:47:02 as you or more? I was just curious about that. great podcasts and yeah good stuff I'm in a unique situation because I grew up in a household where my mother made more money than my father so I am much more like normal I or like what's the word I was subjected to that
Starting point is 00:47:30 that's all I knew actually growing up and we have a very funny family story where I don't know is that some like work party with my mom or something one time and someone said, are you going to be a doctor when you grow up? And I go, no, I'm not a girl. Because I just, I didn't know the difference. And so, um, I know, I think my dad, my dad's mentioned like, yeah, like there's times
Starting point is 00:47:53 where, you know, I have to like answer the question what it's like if my, if my, because my wife makes more money than I do, but I, I, to me, I've just grown up admiring my mom so much. And I think she's so incredible. incredibly cool and I have watched my parents do that. So it's not weird to me. And I think I would be much more suited to be with someone who had more money than me, maybe than someone who grew up in a more traditional household, possibly.
Starting point is 00:48:26 Great answer. And like, what a great, like, model for you to, like, be raised in. And not that, like, if your dad were to make of the money, like, still great. but like for the fact that you had your mom and like she was the one kind of doing that that's not that was not normal then it might be a lot more normal nowadays but we were growing up you don't you didn't really hear about that as much
Starting point is 00:48:49 you know but I didn't even know that that like wasn't like wasn't really a thing I just it was always just that way for me so I didn't really ever think about it that much until I got older and I guess then I did start thinking about things more but anyways yeah I think for me I don't So, yeah, we had just a great, great examples of like all type of different kind of like diverse ways of income and assets amongst our family of like all the different types of examples. And so like our aunt, Aunt Stacy, she's a complete badass. Like she was making money, money.
Starting point is 00:49:26 You know what I mean? And like at the top of her company and killing it. So we had that as like a powerful kind of in a man's role kind of leading them in the. the work that she used to work in. And then at home, my mom still made good money, but I'm pretty sure my dad made either more. I honestly, I don't know because what we were truly taught was you take care of your own people regardless.
Starting point is 00:49:52 So like if you love someone and like all that type of stuff, you just take care of them. It's not really about the money. Like you figure all that stuff out. So I've never really thought about assets or any of that type of thing. I do think nowadays like you just want. someone who's motivated and wants to work hard and wants to provide. You know, I'm not going out there like, oh, how much, how much does he make or how,
Starting point is 00:50:15 like, that's not what I'm doing. You know what I mean? Right. And I think we would both probably say more, like, I don't think that's what it comes down to, but I certainly would want someone who is passionate about literally anything, like, cares what's going on in the world. And like, I don't want that their only thing to be just their relationship or just being a parent. I admire my mom and my dad so much for having passions that are so fucking different, actually.
Starting point is 00:50:45 And they go do that during the day and then they come home and, like, love each other at home. I do think it, I don't know. This is still traditional and very old time, but like, yeah, when one person is stay, I don't know, I think you can kind of get, not that being like a mom or a wife isn't good, but like then I just. I just had a mom who cared about so many other things, and I love that about her that, like, I would want that in a partner as well. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:51:15 Dude, speaking of that, you know what I've actually come to learn to is like, I, now that a lot of our friends and especially like my sister, our best friend, family members are now having kids and babies. Like, I see how much work it is to be a stay at home mom or a stay at home dad. Like that is its own job in itself. And I'm kind of thinking like, depending on where like our school systems and all that kind of go, I'm like, shit. I want to be mad if, I mean, I don't think I could do it because I'd go crazy. You got to stay at home dad.
Starting point is 00:51:53 Well, then that's like what this question is asking, I guess simply like he said assets, which means more like the things you have. But I think ultimately it's about like making more money. And I think that I would want either myself or. my husband to be able to be their own boss so they can make your own schedule so you can be very someone could be if the kids are helping in some way you know like very hands-on but like do not like crazy but do a lot of your teammates make more money than their partners or is it is it a while is it like so random oh well honestly a lot of people in the w either date other basketball players or they date, they date people in the sports world.
Starting point is 00:52:39 So either coaching or I guess players who play other sports. So I don't, honestly, I don't know. Yeah. Words asking. Good question. Good questions today. That was good. All right, guys.
Starting point is 00:52:55 You know I like to end it on something wholesome, or I think this is someone wholesome. It's nice. It's not weird. All right, here we go. Hey, I love the show. I don't really need relationship advice, but been married 27 years. But we are having a healthy debate about our first car for our son. He's a sophomore at Rockbridge.
Starting point is 00:53:17 Go Bruins. Let's fucking go! He turns 16 in February. But he's got friends that are already 16 and they've already wrecked cars. But even though we agree not to get a new car, I think we should spend $1,000 to get a junker just to get the school them back. but she thinks she wants to spend more and maybe get something a little bit more decent. Anyway, your thoughts, and what were your first cars?
Starting point is 00:53:43 And did you have a say in what that car was? Anyway, love the feedback, love the show. See ya. I love that call. You can go first. RBSS, baby! What lot did you park in at Rockbridge? South lot or North Lot?
Starting point is 00:53:59 South. I parked in North. Ew. I know. Why? That's still a debate. People's, like, my friends so make jokes. Like North Lot versus South Lawn.
Starting point is 00:54:10 It's really funny. South Lot's where it's at. North Lot, no. I don't know why you did that. I'm surprised you did that. Anyway, okay, I have two opinions on this. So I think that,
Starting point is 00:54:22 I think it's crazy when kids get, like, nice-ass cars right when they turn 16, because more than likely, you're going to tear that shit up or you're going to wreck. Like, that is just, And I don't hope that happens, but I just feel like it's more of a... How do you appreciate fucking anything in life if you get a Lexus when you're 16? Dude, you're fucking telling me.
Starting point is 00:54:45 These kids out here do not know. Anyway. And Rockbridge, to our friend who just called, there will always be nicer cars in the Rockbridge lots than what she's going to get. And so... Always. Like, you're not going to have... like just know that you're going to be in the middle ground regardless. I agree with that.
Starting point is 00:55:06 So I think my thing is I wouldn't get a junker, junker because you also want the car to like be safe and be stable for a new driver, but also like get something right in the middle. Like I got a 2000, I think, I don't even know what it was, but I loved it. I think it was like a 2010 or nine Jeep Wrangler, Two-Dore. And it was so fun. I loved it. But, like, it was not fancy whatsoever, but I completely loved it.
Starting point is 00:55:37 So, I don't know. It was, like, right in the middle. I got a, my grandpa's truck. He, like, my grandpa would always buy himself a new truck and then give his old ones to, like, his grandkids. So I think mine was, it wasn't new. I didn't get the car new. I actually was kind of embarrassed at first because it was.
Starting point is 00:56:01 It was a single cab truck. Dude, that's dope. I think they're like kind of ugly. So I didn't have a back. Like the window was right here. Yeah. And then there was the bed. And you could,
Starting point is 00:56:14 I can only fit three people in it. But obviously it was free. Like my grandpa gave it to me. What was I going to do like be a fucking brat? No. So I drove that and then, uh, my dad actually totaled it at the farm when I moved away to college.
Starting point is 00:56:30 And then I got a Jeep Wrangler after. like 2007 or something like super fucking old. I love it. Like we, I would use say, you know how like people go do donuts like on Friday night or like 30 night end up in South Lott? Or I guess North Lut too.
Starting point is 00:56:47 Like there's trash cans out there and like we'd always use my car to go like nail the trash cans. Like I was rough on my cars. I was, I was, I'm very rough on my cars. Yeah, I also.
Starting point is 00:57:01 Yeah. You don't, like, we're in no place to tell you how to parent. I'll also say that. I'll say that. So, like, you do what you think is best for your family. But I'll say, yeah, you don't have to get her a junker because we wanted the car to work and, like, you know, have some fun. There are plenty of used cars in Columbia, Missouri that aren't, like, awful. So that sucks if your daughter knows that we both were like, don't get her a nice car.
Starting point is 00:57:30 but it's not that it's not a nice car but you don't you don't need to have a brand new freaking 50,000 to $60,000 car as your first car. I agree. That's in, I mean, if, hey,
Starting point is 00:57:44 if you all can afford it, teach their own, go do it. But like, it's also like, that's part of like being, having your first car. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:57:51 Like, it's like, oh God. Like, yeah, I don't know. I don't know. Who knows.
Starting point is 00:57:55 Yeah. So good luck. We probably didn't help you. I want to know. I hope he calls back and lets us know if she ends up being a north, a north lot girl or south lot girl. And then, or so remember sophomore alley?
Starting point is 00:58:11 Dude, I love sophomore alley. So our school, you couldn't park, you couldn't get a parking pass until you were a junior. Yeah. So all the sophomores park in this, there's like,
Starting point is 00:58:25 this like vacant patch of land, like kind of close to school, but there was like this one road that went through it. And every sophomore had a park in that fucking row. walk school. Dude, but you had to get the early close. Yeah, especially during the cold.
