City of Kingman officials, including Mayor Ken Watkins and council member Sean Savage and Smiley Ward,
joined representatives from New Corps Corporation to celebrate the grand opening of New Corps' new state-of-the-art melt shop
located just outside Kingman in Mojave County.
The $100 million investment marks a major milestone in regional economic growth,
adding 160 new full-time jobs with an average annual wage of $85,000.
The facility will have the capacity to produce up to 600,000 tons of steel annually, further strengthening
New Corps's position as a leader in sustainable steel production and advanced manufacturing.
This project represents tremendous progress for our community, said Mayor Ken Watkins.
Not only is New Corps bringing quality jobs and cutting-edge technology to the region,
but they're also investing in the long-term prosperity of Mojave County and the families who call it home.
We are proud to celebrate this milestone with them.
Safety remains a core focus for New Corps, and the new Meld shop reflects the company's continued
commitment to innovation and employee well-being.
Safety is New Corps's number one cultural value, said Matt Blitch, New Corps vice president, and
general manager.
We want every teammate to go home safely at the end of each shift, every day.
Our goal is zero injuries, and this project helps us take another step toward that goal by
using technology to remove teammates from potential hazards.
Eliminating risks like that is how we make zero possible.
The city of Kingman congratulates New Corps on this significant milestone and looks forward to continuing a strong partnership that supports economic growth, innovation, and long-term prosperity for the region.
