The City of Prescott, in conjunction with the Prescott Chamber of Commerce,
would like to invite the community to join in celebrating Arizona's official Christmas City,
with the 43rd annual Christmas parade and 71st Annual Courthouse Lighting.
The 43rd Annual Christmas Parade will take place on Saturday, December 6, 2025.
Staging for the parade will close beginning at 9 a.m. the staging area street closures are as follows.
Willis St. from Mount Vernon Street to Montezuma St. Cortez Street, Marina Street, Aller Cone Street, and Pleasant Street, Sheldon Street to Gurley St. St. Staging area roads are anticipated to reopen at approximately 4 p.m. or when Prescott Police Department deems it is safe to do so.
The parade itself will begin at 1 p.m. The parade route will begin closing to vehicle traffic beginning at 8 a.m. the parade route closure will be.
8 a.m. closure.
Gurley Street from Montezuma Street to Cortes Street.
9 a.m. closure.
Cortes Street from Willis Street to Goodwin Street.
Union Street from Cortez Street to Marina Street.
Goodwin Street from Granite Street to Marina Street.
Montezuma Street from Goodwin Street to Sheldon Street.
Parade route roads are anticipated to reopen at approximately 4 p.m.
or when Prescott Police Department deems it is safe to do so.
However, in the interest of public safety, the city will keep the following roads closed for the courthouse lighting event.
Gurley Street from Montezuma Street to Cortez Street from Gurley Street to Goodwin Street.
Cortes Street from Gurley Street to Union Street.
The 71st annual courthouse lighting festivities will begin at 5 p.m. with seasonal music on the courthouse steps.
At 6 p.m., the program will begin. At the conclusion of the program, look to the sky for a
fantastic fireworks display. The remaining road closures are anticipated to reopen at approximately
9 p.m. or when Prescott Police Department deems it is safe to do so. As with any event in the
downtown area, parking will be at a premium and very limited. There will be a free shuttle starting at
12 p.m. both from Prescott High School, 150 North Ruth Street, and in the back parking lot of
Yavapai College, across from the tennis courts off Washington SD, to the parking garage on Granite Street.
The shuttle will run until 8 p.m., but shuttle service will pause from 6.15 p.m. to 6.45 p.m. during the fireworks display.
The parking garage on Granite Street will be open as well. We ask that spectators and participants in the parade, be courteous and mindful of businesses in the downtown area that remain open during these events.
