Get ready to celebrate the holiday season in Arizona's Christmas City.
The Prescott Chamber of Commerce has announced the dates for two beloved annual events,
the 43rd annual Christmas parade and the 71st annual courthouse lighting,
taking place on Saturday December 6, 2025 in the heart of downtown Prescott.
This year's Christmas parade, themed stars, stripes, and Christmas light,
will highlight the individuals who bring joy and light to the season with 130 entries,
making for the largest parade Prescott has had to date.
From 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., floats, marching bands, festive music,
and of course, Santa himself, will fill downtown Prescott with holiday cheer.
After the parade, kids can meet Santa on the courthouse plaza until 5 p.m.
The magic doesn't end there.
Starting at 6 p.m., Prescott will host its milestone 71st annual courthouse lighting ceremony.
Live Christmas music kicks off the evening at 5 p.m., creating a festive backdrop as the courthouse and over 80 glowing trees surrounding the plaza are illuminated with more than a million LED lights.
To top it all off, a stunning fireworks display will light up the night sky after the courthouse sparkles to life.
Prescott was proud to be recognized by Newsweek as one of the top 10 best Christmas towns in the country in 2024, a testament to the town's cherished holiday traditions.
We couldn't be more excited to welcome everyone to downtown Prescott.
for this year's holiday season, shared Sherry Hiney, Executive Director of the Prescott Chamber
of Commerce. All the Christmas City events make this year especially memorable and reflects our
community's rich holiday history. A holiday tradition rooted in community spirit. The courthouse lighting dates
back to 1954, when local organizations, including the Rotary Club and Prescott Elks Lodge number 330,
collaborated to create the first Christmas display on the courthouse plaza. By 1955, inspired by Denver
Civic Center, decorations expanded to include the courthouse itself, with red foil, lights, and a neon season's
greeting sign. Through the years, support from the community drove the event to grow into the dazzling
display it is today, boasting some of the most elaborate decorations in the region. Getting their
made easy. Once again, Prescott is offering a free shuttle service to make getting to the festivity
seamless. Park at Prescott High School, located at 1050 Ruth Street, and Yavapai College, 1100 East
Sheldon Street, enter off of Washington Street, and enjoy convenient drop-off at downtown
Granite Street. The shuttle will operate between 12 p.m. and 8 p.m. and brings you right
downtown. There will be a pause and service during the fireworks from 6.15 to 6.45 p.m.

Prescott was officially designated as Arizona's Christmas City in 1989 because the city had long
been known for its festive holiday events. Today, Prescott offers a multitude of holiday attractions
and is increasingly a destination for visitors looking for special ways to celebrate.
In 2022, the city of Prescott and Prescott Chamber of Commerce Foundation form the official Arizona
Christmas City Organization. This organization brought the city's main holiday events together
under one umbrella, enabling event organizers to collaborate on marketing, fundraising,
and sponsorship assistance. The following events now work together within the Arizona
Christmas City Organization, the Prescott Holiday Light Parade, hosted by the Prescott Downtown
partnership, the Christmas Parade and Courthouse Lighting, hosted by the Prescott Chamber
of Commerce, the Acker Night Music Festival, hosted by the Ackar Foundation, and the Whiskey Row Boot
Drop, hosted by the Whiskey Row Boot Drop, LLC. This collaboration will continue to grow and help
support each event financially for years to come. Learn more at www.arizondacrisciti.com.
