Flagstaff property owners, businesses and residents are invited to a free lunch and learn at the downtown
Connection Center.
216 West Phoenix Avenue, on October 8th from 1130 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The meeting will provide information about a $1.5 million grant that pays for the Northern Arizona
Property Revitalization Program available to property owners on a first come, first-served basis until
September 30th, 2028. Ideal candidates to receive funding include owners of previously utilized
properties and older buildings that could be reused, redeveloped or renovated. The grant was awarded
to the City of Flagstaff, Coquanino County, and the Northern Arizona Council of Governments
by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, EPA. The no-cost services funded by the grant often
generate interest from banks, investors, developers and potential purchasers. An important feature of this
program is that property owners who get a free assessment have no obligation to clean up their
property, do any additional assessment, spend any money, or take any additional action. The goal is
to transform properties that can be a liability into an asset by helping to remove the barriers to
redevelopment and reuse, says Flagstaff Community Investment Director David McIntyre. This grant will
help address unknown site conditions and create shovel-ready sites, while also protecting public
health and the environment. We are now at the stage where we need help from the public to identify
additional properties that can benefit from this free program. Those interested in attending the
lunch and learn event should RSVP to Amanda Gwai by October 6th at Amanda.gwai atstandech.com.
More information on the grant program can be found at Flagstaff.org.gov slash 1760 slash economic
development. For related questions, please contact Craigsnetco, Economic Development Administrator
at Znetco at Flagstaffa's.gov.
