Dr. Ryan is replacing Mojave Community College President Dr. Stacey Clippenstein.
Dr. Ryan, the 10th president of Yavapai College, has over 36 years of leadership.
experience in colleges and universities in Ohio, Kentucky, Virginia, and Arizona.
Dr. Ryan serves on numerous local, regional and national commissions, task forces and boards
including service on the Commission on Economic and Workforce Development for the American Association
of Community Colleges and the Presidential Liaison for the State of Arizona to the American
Council on Education Women's Network. The Arizona Commerce Authority is a vital organization to
help grow and strengthen our economy in Arizona, and I am honored to be named to the Board of
directors, Dr. Ryan said. Yavapai College in the network of community colleges throughout the state
have a significant positive impact on Arizona's economy by providing education and training for
several industries. ACA uses a three-pronged approach to advance the overall economy, recruit, grow,
create, recruit out-of-state companies to expand their operations in Arizona, work with existing
companies to grow their business in Arizona and beyond, and partner with entrepreneurs and companies
large and small to create new jobs and businesses in targeted industries. The ACA is overseen
by a prestigious public private sector board of directors bringing together industry, academia and
government. Chaired by Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs, the board is comprised of the state's
most prominent private sector business leaders, university and community college presidents,
and elected officials. The ACA's executive management team drives the organization's day-to-day
operations, ensuring it maintains focus on the recruitment of quality companies in
jobs to the state of Arizona. This team brings together the best and brightest in economic development,
management and communications. The Arizona Community College Coordinating Council works to raise
the visibility and understanding of the significant impact of community colleges, provides strong
legislative and public advocacy and advances shared initiatives through the Arizona Center for
Community College success, strategic partnerships, and its various committee initiatives.
