Following significant monsoon moisture and a reduced risk of wildfire, Yavapai County will lift its countywide fire ban effective Friday, September 5th, 2025, at 8 a.m. The ban is being lifted for all Yavapai County's fire zones, 1 to 5, which include the following cities and towns, Prescott, Prescott Valley, Dewey Humboldt, Meyer, Coards Junction, Black Canyon City, Congress, North Wicenburg, Peoples Valley, Yarnel, Wilhoit, Cottonwood, Sedona, Campford, and all unincorporated areas. This decision was made in close coordination with regional partners, including the Prescott National Forest, Coconino National Forest,
Starting point is 00:00:43 Tonto National Forest, and the Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management, DFFM, who are also lifting fire restrictions. Recent rainfall throughout the county has increased humidity and moisture content in vegetation, leading fire officials to agree that conditions are appropriate to lift the current restrictions. We appreciate the public's cooperation during the fire ban, which was critical in preventing human-caused wildfires during a period of high danger, said Ashley Alquist, Yavapai County Emergency Manager. While we are lifting the ban, we urge everyone to remain vigilant.
