The town of Gilbert has partnered with Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona to host Arizona's
first ever monitored donation containers. This initiative aims to encourage residents to donate
gently used items and promote recycling and waste reduction to help protect our environment.
Gilbert is the first municipality in the state to collaborate with Goodwill to host two solar-powered,
virtually monitored donation containers. Provided and maintained at no cost to the town,
These bins feature 24-7 surveillance and donor safety lighting, designed to streamline the donation process while reducing landfill waste.
Residents are encouraged to donate items such as home decor and housewares, clothing, shoes, electronics, towels, toys, strategically located at Discovery Park, 2,214 East Pacas Road, and Cactus Yards, 4,536 East East.
Elliott Road, the two 20-foot containers off around the clock access, making it easier than ever
to give back. It's a wonderful opportunity for our community members to actively serve one another.
Gilbert is always seeking partnerships to enhance our ability to serve sustainably, and we are
very welcoming to something like this, said Mayor Scott Anderson. Each container features three
shoots, and staff are alerted when the bin is fully using technology inside the bin,
ensuring continuous service and maximizing the reuse of resources. This partnership
highlights Gilbert's dedication to making a meaningful impact in our community. By focusing on waste aversion,
conserving resources, and supporting local charities, we're working together to benefit both the
planet and our community. For more about recycling and Gilbert, visit gilbertaz.gov slash recycle.
