The Light the World Giving Machine, a popular vending machine that works in reverse, creating a memorable way to give to those in need during the Christmas season, will open to the public on Saturday, November 16th, in the courtyard outside of Harkins in Prescott Valley. The machines will be operational 24 hours a day at 7202 Paveway, remaining through Sunday, December 1st. Inged in 2017, Giving Machines are provided by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and provide a unique opportunity for the community to give to local and global charities.
Starting point is 00:00:41 Giving machine items range in price from $5 to $300 and include staples such as clothing, personal hygiene, meals, school supplies, life-saving medicine, and even livestock. The Church covers all operational costs so that 100% of donations received at 106 locations worldwide go directly to the charity of choice. Last year, Prescott was privileged to host Giving Machines for the first time. Over $83,000 was donated in total, with over $44,000 going to the three participating local charities. During these increasingly difficult times in our communities in the world, the giving machines offer us each a unique way to bless others while experiencing joy ourselves, said Prescott resident Brett Mangum, a volunteer leader for the light the world giving machines. This is an experience that can be a family affair for a holiday memory or a deeply personal experience.
Starting point is 00:01:33 This year, the Prescott Valley Giving Machines will feature items from these local, state, and global non-profit organizations. Gathering Humanity and Arizona-based grassroots, non-profit organization that provides essential goods to those experiencing resettlement and other vulnerable populations. The Coalition for Compassion and Justice, CCJ aims to end and prevent homelessness locally. by connecting clients with housing and support. Chino Valley Education Foundation, this nonprofit, created to serve the district schools and community in Chino Valley, supports students, teachers,

Meals on Wheels, a local nonprofit in Prescott and Prescott Valley that enables adults to maintain independence and dignity by delivering community, nourishment, and care. I'd, this international organization creates income and life, livelihood opportunities for poor, rural households, building the resilience of farmers and their families worldwide. Child help, a nationwide nonprofit that exists to meet the physical, emotional, educational, and spiritual needs of abused, neglected, and at-risk children.
