Thanks to the enthusiastic support of our Prescott Community, the Yavapai County Junior Rodeo Association,
Eitra, will return to the Prescott Rodeo grounds for two rodeos, August 2nd to 3rd and August 23rd to 24th.
In 2024, the Prescott Echre Rodeo was the largest participated rodeo by contestants to date and was equally popular with attendees.
Come to the Prescott Rodeo grounds and cheer on the youth of the Eichra as they compete in two free
Rodeos. Prescott Frontier Days Incorporated, a long time, enthusiastic sponsor, will host the event,
which starts at 7.30 a.m. at both events. Rodeo contestants range in age from 3 minus 18 years old and
will compete in the following events, Peewee dummy roping, hole bending, barrel racing, peewee flag race,
goat tying, breakaway roping, steer stopping, ribbon roping, team roping, boys calf roping,
and steer riding. Prescott Frontier Days general manager Jim Dewey Brown, a former student
an athlete and long-time youth rodeo coach, is a strong supporter of youth rodeo programs and
fully supports the Ghtra. Having been a bronc rider in high school, Jim said, this is the perfect
place for kids to get a taste of rodeo, and it's also a gateway for future world's oldest
rodeo contestants. The Yavapai County Junior Rodeo mission is to provide young cowboys and cowgirls
with local and affordable rodeo opportunities while promoting sportsmanship and keeping the Western
heritage alive in Arizona. Yitra aims to promote a closer relationship among parents.
and their children and other people interested in rodeo.
Yitra President Travis Lyons and Association State Secretary Kelsey Lyons tell us,
we are so grateful for the PFD Board and their sponsorship to support our shared mission of
youth rodeo for our local Yavapai Cowboys and Cowgirls.
We thank the Prescott community for their love and support of rodeo.
