The City of Kingman has secured $493,000 in federal funding through the fiscal year
26 Homeland Security Appropriations Bill to support Phase 1 of the Bull Mountain Channel
Improvements Project. The funding, obtained through Congressional Direct Spending,
will support street improvements at the intersection of Canyon Hills Road and Shadow Crest Road
designed to redirect water flow into Bull Mountain Wash. With the completion of Phase 1,
the project is expected to provide immediate flood relief to homes and businesses located west of Stockton Hill Road.
City officials expressed appreciation to Senator Mark Kelly and Senator Ruben Gallego for their
assistance in helping secure the funding. This funding is the direct result of maintaining
strong communication with our federal partners and continuing to advocate for Kingman's
infrastructure needs at the national level, said City Manager Tim Walsh. We appreciate Senator Kelly
and Senator Gallego for recognizing the importance of this project and supporting efforts to
improve flood mitigation in our community. The Bull Mountain Channel Improvements Project is part of the
city's ongoing efforts to address stormwater management and reduce flooding impacts in vulnerable areas
throughout Kingman. Catch up with the news and read more stories from the river cities.
