Like the adage says, when you need something done, give it to a busy person.
Meet Susie Davidson, the second in our PFD Director series.
Susie has long dedicated much of her personal time to serving others, as seen by her devotion to many groups throughout the years.
She moved to Prescott in 2011 and began volunteering for the Prescott Frontier Days,
world's oldest rodeo the following summer for the rodeo parade and security.
Susie served as the volunteer coordinator for six years, the vendor chair for five years,
and has worked on every rodeo parade since 2012, being the chairman last year.
She was appointed to the PFD Board of Directors responsible for vendors, membership,
rodeo parade, old-timers reunion, and two of our re-roteo, we give fundraisers.
Susie's love of horses has been a lifelong pursuit.
As a youth, she was involved in 4H with her horse,
and she spent her college summers teaching riding and horsemanship at a girls' camp in northern
Minnesota to keep her horsey side alive as long as possible. She is an avid quilter and is involved in
several quilting groups in Prescott. Quilting led her to the Yavapai County Fair, where she recently
became a board member in charge of their home economics fiber areas. Her exceptional contributions
to the PFD earned her the Volunteer of the Year award in 2022. Susie advises, anyone new to Prescott
should know that whether single, a couple, or a family, it is an easy place to become involved in
whatever activity interests you. Even if you didn't grow up a cowboy, I didn't, try the
rodeo for a great family experience. I bet you'll love it as much as I do.
