Hey everyone, it is April 14th, and this is Mondays with the mayor.
Hope you had an amazing week.
Looks like it might cool down a little bit this week, but either way, it's still going to be an amazing week.
I just first want to say, hey, thanks for everyone that came out to our spring fling yesterday or over the weekend on Saturday.
It was a great, huge success.
People had a great time.
Hopefully you were able to make it out there.
If not, put it on the calendar for next year.
This week, though, related to that, this Friday, April 18th, from 345 to 630 is our actual egg hunt.
expedition. So over the weekend, we kind of got away from having the egg hunt during our event.
So we have a specific egg hunt event this Friday, 345 here at the Civic Center. And this year,
though, it is going to cost $1. Okay, folks, so it helps pay for supplies for the kids. So again,
this week, April 18, 345 to 630, kids will still be grouped up according to ages. So it'll make
it fair for everyone. So looking forward to it, hope to see you out there. I know I mentioned
that was cooling down this week, but just a reminder, last week, Animal Control received several
calls about pet owners keeping their pets inside their cars while they're inside a store shopping.
So remember, even though with the sun shining, it might be a little cool outside, but it still
gets very warm inside. So please, please, please, be very cognizant of that. And if you're out and
about and you happen to feel as if there's a pet inside a car and it's too warm form, contact the
non-emergency line and let dispatch know and we can get someone out there to respond. So again,
pay attention to our pets out there.
Last week we kicked off the hometown heroes program.
Basically, this is a new program for the town of Prescott Valley
where we are recognizing all of our current and past veterans
that have served in the armed forces.
This is an opportunity to get them recognized on a light pole banner.
And it'll be displayed during a certain period of time on our light poles.
And it's just a great way for us to say thank you.
So if you have a veteran that you would like to honor,
please contact us here at Town Hall.
just give us call 928-759-3100. And if you would like, or you know someone that wishes to donate
towards this, because we try to make this program totally free for our veterans and our families.
So we're looking for sponsorships and donations to apply and put towards this. So again,
928-759-3100, hometown heroes program. And going along those lines, we are also going to be
kick-starting off the Freedom Rock. So if you don't know what a Freedom Rock is, Google it.
and we're trying to bring a Freedom Rock here to Prescott Valley in another way to honor our veterans.
So we're going to be forming a committee and their job is going to go out there, educate the public,
let them know what's going on with this Freedom Rock and how they can help and how we can get donations to help pay for it.
So again, check that out.
There'll be more on my Facebook page about the Freedom Rock.
What else we got this week?
No counsel on Thursday, so that's pretty easy.
What we have coming up, end of the month, for all you pickleballers out there, April 26 is a Pippoor,
ball tournament from one to six, $40 a team.
You can sign up with Parks and Rec.
And this will be up at Anilop Park, like I said.
And it's a great opportunity to get out there and see what you got.
So remember, one to six, Antelope Park, $40 per team for all you serious pickleballers.
And that will be also broken up into groups as well for beginner, intermediate, advanced.
I hope to see you out there for that.
And with that being said, folks, we're finishing it up.
It's a dad joke.
Not a bad joke.
why did the egg fail his driving test?
You just cracked under pressure?
Have a great week, folks.
See you out there.
