Hey, everyone, February 18th, and this is Tuesdays with the mayor.
So we got a lot of things to talk about, and we'll just start off this or next Monday is February 24th at 530 over at the town or the police department training room.
You get to share your thoughts on Presby Valley housing.
So there'll be a presentation and basically a community conversation about thoughts and ideas of housing in Prescott Valley.
If you cannot make it, you can head over to our website and there's a survey online.
that survey will be open until the end of March.
So show up in person next Monday the 24th or at 530 or take the survey online.
So I'd love to hear what your thoughts are about housing.
What else we got here?
We have a car seat check February 22nd from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
over at Park Collective.
So if you ever, sometimes car seats are shifting and you just want to make sure that your little person is safe.
Head on over there.
We'll have trained professionals, make sure that your car seat is in actual working order.
It takes about 15 to 20 minutes per car seat check.
So just be prepared for that.
Again, 8 to 11 February 22nd.
And here's another opportunity to help shape our community.
You can join the Citizens Recreation Facility Advisory Committee.
So basically, it's a group of citizens that are going to get together and figure out strategies to move forward to improve our community in regards to,
parks and recreation. So please check that out. Go to the website. There's a link you can click on it,
fill out an application. Love to hear what your thoughts are and your ideas are for Prescott Valley.
What else we have? Last week at council, we approved fire hydrants or adding additional fire hydrants
to Prescott Valley. So for the last four years, we've been adding between 10 and 12 fire hydrants
to basically the core area of Prescott Valley. And we will continue to do that for as long as we
possibly can to just make Prescott Valley a little bit safer in the firefighting area.
What else did we get going on? We were able to approve the contract for basically completely
ripping up and installing a new road from quarantine to Highway 69 on Lake Valley. So in both
directions, you will see a new road in that area. If you've driven it, you know what I mean.
It's kind of bumpy and shifty. So super exciting news. We also approved an ethics policy at town
council, which is exciting. Never had an ethics policy before. We've had some rules, regulations,
but this is actually like an official document that's outlining basic behaviors for our elected
officials and boards and commissions. So good news there. And then finally, Jasper Parkway, folks,
we are so close. I know the painting's been done, signage is up, but there was just a small
area that we needed to tweak. We need to add a little bit more pavement, and they're going to
restripe it, but I promise you it will be opened very, very soon.
Thank you so much for your patience.
It will be amazing once it's done.
It'll help alleviate some traffic off of Glassford Hill as you go to basically Highway 69.
So please, please, please, be patient on that.
So with that being said, folks, we're done for the day.
Here's our dad joke.
It is not a bad one.
Just remember that.
It's a dad joke.
Which rock group has four men who don't sing?
Mount Rushmore.
Folks, I'll see you out there.
Thanks for sticking around.
