Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey, everyone. Happy New Year. January 5th. This is our first edition of Mondays with the mayor. Hope you all had an amazing new year and you're ready to tackle not only this week, but 2026. So let's kick things off in no random order. Here it is. We have our state of the town. End of this month, January 27th. It's from 1030. Doors open at 1130 over at the Finley Toyota Center. This is a great opportunity to hear what's happening, what we've accomplished, what our plans are for the future. and it's a great way to get involved and engaged and network with people throughout the community. So you can go to the Prescott Valley website, check it out,
Starting point is 00:00:36 and then you buy tickets over at the chamber. So please check that out, January 22nd, or 27th, 2026. What else we got? This Thursday, very important folks, blood drive from 9 to 2 over at the Prescott Valley Library in the Crystal Room. So if you're interested in helping out and you wish to give blood, please show up 9 to 2 you can also go
Starting point is 00:00:58 visit the www. my talent and type in Prescott Valley and you can maybe schedule an appointment time that way as well so again 9 to 2 you're welcome to just walk on in and donate blood so check it out Thursday the 15th
Starting point is 00:01:13 not much else going on folks but here's something that is important the Presby Valley Freedom Rock is wrapping things up and the deadline for purchasing a paver to honor a loved one or a family member that was a veteran is March 1st. So a four by eight veterans brick is $100. And an eight by eight business slash family brick is $250. And all that just goes to help create the entire Freedom Rock experience. So they're doing an amazing job. And we should just
Starting point is 00:01:44 push this over the finish line. And we plan on having a ribbon cutting sometime in July. So check that out. You can go with questions to Freedom Rock. or of course you can go on Facebook and look up Freedom Rock hyphen Prescott Valley and you can reach out that way and message them and they'll get back to you on what you need to do if you wish to do so that's awesome like I said not much going on guys the last thing we have is a car seat check over at Park Collective this Saturday 8 to 11 takes about 20 to 25 minutes per car seat so keep that in mind and also the police department will be on hand to hand out bicycle helmets. So it's good to have your toddler there so he can or she can be measured
Starting point is 00:02:28 up for a proper fitting helmet as well. So check that out, 8 to 11th this Saturday, Park Collective parking lot. And finally, we've had some questions. And how the update is everything's still going as planned. They're still going out for bid with contractors and they're waiting to get those estimates back. We don't have a date for breaking ground, but they have purchased to land and they're proceeding as planned. So I guess we just have to be patience, patient for patience for folks. And with that being said, finish it up with our dad joke. It's not a bad joke. What do you call a bear with no teeth? A gummy bear. Have a great week. We'll see you out there.
