Hey everyone. It is June 2nd and it's Monday's with the mayor. We all kind of woke up to a wet Monday, which is kind of surprising and it looks like we might have a little more rain this week. So good news. We're going to kick things off with what we have happening right now. This Wednesday, June 4th, a theater on the green from 3.30 to 630. Color our world summer reading kickoff. Passport to dance. So if you're in the dance or you're in the reading, come on out to that. Again, June 4th, right out here at theater on the green.
And with that being said, yesterday kicked off our summer reading, basically kickoff event.
It goes until the end of July.
Basically, it's for adults and children.
You read, you register your books, and then you can win prizes.
So it's kind of cool.
Go to our website, find out some more information.
Again, that's our summer reading kickoff.
So parents out there, encourage your kids to read some more, and a good way to motivate them by winning some prizes.
June 6th, also theater on the green, African music and arts with bubble.
Lishimbabombo. So check that out. Sounds like fun. So if you're into that, June 6th from 10 to 1115, right there on theater on the green, should have amazing weather. So again, African music on June 6th.
Last Thursday, congratulations to Kimberly Lopez. She is our new council person. She was selected by council to fill a vacancy. So welcome aboard. Kimberly. Look forward to working with you.
and wrapping things up, the pool and splash pads are open.
Mountain Valley Splash, and we have a schedule online.
And for those of you that we're not aware, open swim, usually from 12 to 6 on Sundays and 12 to 4.30 during the week.
It's free.
So kind of cool, head on over there and cool off a little bit.
And again, like I mentioned, there's a bunch of other things going on on the calendar.
Good news.
And that's pretty much.
We don't have much going on this week, folks.
So we'll wrap it up with her dad joke.
Why do bananas wear sunscreen?
It's because they peel.
Folks, have a great week. See you out there.
