Hey everyone, welcome to monies with the mayor. It is November 4th, and as you can already tell, we are not in my office. We're on location today. So we'll get to that in a moment. But first, let's just cover a few things. As we pretty much all know, tomorrow is Election Day. You cannot mail your ballot in anymore. You either have to drop it off or turn it in person or if you're voting in person, our three locations are going to be the Finley Toyota Center, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints up and off of Pronghorn Parkway.
over on Eastridge, 8582, at Canyon Bible Church.
So head on over there.
The hours are from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
and as long as you're in line at 7, before 7 p.m., you're able to vote.
So just keep that in mind.
So Finley Toyota Center, the Mormon Church up off Conghorn Ranch Parkway,
and Canyon Bible off of Eastridge.
What else we got?
We got the ladies hiking club.
It's heading out.
You can register for $10 and join us next, or actually this Wednesday,
November 6th. They are going to meet over at the gym, McCaslin, Willow Creek Park. That's what you're
start at 850. And you basically check in. The hike is a 5.4 mile hike. So if you're interested,
ladies, you want to get out there on hike. More information can be found on the Prescott Valley Parks
and Rec. Coming up on Thursday, we got our study session. We're going to be covering P-Favs,
the proposal to adopt the 2018 International Fire Code.
We're going to have a parks development standards discussion, and we're also going to update the town on our safety action plan that we recently had in what's to expect.
So you can show up this week's meeting is at 2 o'clock, not 3 o'clock, or you can check us out on Facebook or the town's website for YouTube page.
So now this is why we're here.
We've got a special guest, folks.
Would introduce yourself?
Sure.
Thanks for having me.
Yes.
Being here.
My name is Nick Kalia.
I'm one of the owners of the backburn and family restaurant here in Frescabelle.
All right. And the reason we're here is because they are the winners of, we talked about it. They're the winners of the restaurant week vote. So we had over 890 votes cast. They won 29% of those votes. And basically if you're not familiar with Backrunner, I don't know who isn't, but for those of you that just maybe just moved here yesterday, located on corner Robert Road in Long Mesa, they started in 2007. That's crazy. 35 employees. And you serve.
How many people a week? About 2,500.
2,500 people a week. So you're doing math folks.
It's almost 10,000 people a month getting breakfast over here at Backburner.
And you even have some employees that are 17 years, huh?
I do. Yep, our general manager, one that was instrumental in getting us involved in this
with your guys' team's help. Yeah, she's been with us for 17 years.
One of our other managers been here 12. Maine Cook's been here just celebrated four years
and we're so blessed for their commitment to us and the community for making it possible.
That's awesome. The signature dish that they offered up, five-car pile up,
normally sell 300, and you guys sold 100 more, or you sold 100 during the week.
Sold 100 during the week, and you had a hundred more.
That's 100 more than normally. Yeah, so obviously the promotion benefited, you know, our situation as well.
So they get this awesome cutting board. That's theirs. And then this traveling trophy will move around,
but it'll stay here at Backburner for the next year until the start of the next restaurant week,
and then we'll do it all again.
Maybe you guys can eat repeat.
Maybe we'll keep it.
Maybe you keep it.
Maybe it doesn't go to where.
I can.
All right.
So we're finishing it up.
Again, congratulations.
We always end this with a dad joke and not a bad joke.
Usually I'm the one reading it, all right?
But this time, we got you?
It could be both.
It could be both.
It could be both.
All right, here we go.
Why did the voter bring a ladder to the polling station?
I don't know.
He doesn't know.
Who would know? Because he heard the stakes were high.
Folks, thanks for joining us. Get out there and vote tomorrow.
