Arizona Teacher of the Year Tiffany Jazzif, and Arizona Western College President Daniel Kaur
will be recognized with honorary doctorates during Northern Arizona University's four commencement ceremonies on May 8th to 9th.

and whose contributions in their personal lives demonstrate a deep commitment to educational

celebrating the accomplishments of the more than 4,700 graduates who will be awarded degrees

Now's 2025 honorary doctorate recipients and commencement speakers. Through sustained general
generosity, Karen and Michael Kit have supported Now's facilities, faculty, programs and students.
Their generosity helped build the world-class kit recital hall, name the Kit School of Music
and establish five esteemed endowed faculty positions, among other contributions.
Since moving to Flagstaff in 2012, the kits have become deeply engaged in the region's
cultural life, serving on boards and contributing in myriad ways to organizations that include
Lowell Observatory, the Arboretum at Flagstaff, the Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra and now.
During a 30-year career with Pfizer, Mike managed pharmaceutical quality control operations and was
involved in strategic planning and new facility capital project management.
Karen worked in system mechanization at New York Telephone, now Verizon, for more than 24 years
as a computer programmer, programmer analyst and staff director.
Karin and Eric Anderson met it now in their thermodynamics class when both were engineering
students. After graduating, they partnered with Eric's father and brother to found Seeker Engineering,
an aerospace design and manufacturing company that became a key supplier for commercial and government
spacecraft. Eric, who was a member of Now's track and field team, served as co-president and
chief operating officer at Seeker until selling the company to Raytheon in 2021. He has served as
chair and a member of the Steve Songhi College of Engineering Advisory Committee. After working at
Intel and Seeker, Karin joined Hughes Aircraft before returning to the business she helped found
as Director of Design Analysis. She was instrumental in establishing the nonprofit Seekers.
Speaker Foundation. Today, Karin credits scholarships with making her education possible and continues
that legacy by supporting future now engineering students. The Andersons also contribute to Now's
cross-country and track and field teams. Tiffany Jazif is a special education teacher working with
students in kindergarten through fifth grade at Cooper View Elementary School in Sawarita, with a special
focus on keeping her classroom accessible for both academic and social emotional development.
She tailors her teaching to diverse learning styles to help her students succeed. She has a
earned bachelor's and master's degrees in education from the University of Arizona and worked in Tucson
and Yuma before going to Sawarita. Tiffany has received numerous accolades for her work as a teacher,
including being named Teacher of the Year at both Yuma and Saworita, and she was recently
honored as the 26 Arizona Teacher of the Year. As Arizona Teacher of the Year, Tiffany was a
featured speaker at There's a Reason I'm a Teacher Conference where she presented to 300 plus now
students, faculty and staff. Daniel Corr has served as president of Arizona Western College
in Yuma, one of now's closest partners, for a decade. His efforts have focused on facilitating
student success, increasing access to higher education and fostering a climate of innovation,
collaboration and stewardship. Prior to becoming AWC president, he held instructional and
administrative roles at four different community colleges in Arizona and Illinois, and he has
served on numerous local, state and national boards. Throughout his long educational career,
Corps has focused on creating and maintaining partnerships and remaining responsive to community needs.
