From learning how to bind a book to journalism and writing code, now has something for everyone this summer.
Summer is around the corner, and with it comes an opportunity for adventure, discovery and growth for young people.
This year, Northern Arizona University offers an exciting blend of outdoor exploration,
creative activities and skill building experiences designed to inspire campers of all ages.
From fostering long-lasting friendships to encouraging independence and confidence,
these programs provide a safe and engaging environment for children ages 5 to 18 years.
Authors and Artists
Now's English Department and the School of Art and Design are partnering to host a two-week camp
for young artists and authors to explore their creativity with words and art.
The camp is geared towards students entering 6th to 12th grade.
They will work on projects like bookmaking, silk screening and letterpress,
combining writing with art activities.
The Young Authors and Artist's camp will run July 6th to 16th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday to Thursday and 9 a.m. to noon to noon on Fridays. For more information and registration, visit the website. Engineering, robotics and video game design. Middle school students interested in STEM can enhance their education through four different camps offered by the Steve Songhi College of Engineering and Continuing Education. These day camps run June 1st to July 11th and includes civil and environmental engineering, robotics, semiconductors,
and microelectronics and video game design. The camps are perfect for curious learners who enjoy
building and problem solving. No experience is required, and discounts are available. For more information
and to register, visit the Engineering Youth Camps website. Broadcast Journalism. High school students
interested in media can attend two workshops that will immerse them in the ins and outs of broadcast
journalism. The Indigenous Youth Media Workshop is an 11-day comprehensive, hands-on media production bootcamp,
and the Hispanic-Latine youth media workshop is a two-day immersive media production experience.
The goal of these camps isn't just to teach kids' valuable communication skills. It's also to inspire
students to attend college by making them feel welcome on the now campus. Students will
participate in virtual reality, game design, zine-making, animation and filmmaking activities.

The School of Communication has three more camp options for high school students this summer, all focused on learning by doing, social media and photography, animation and sports and adventure media.
All three camps offer daytime and overnight options. The day camp runs from June 15th to 19th, while the overnight campers start on June 14th.
