Summer is the rodeo office assistant whose invaluable work makes visitors feel welcome and helps the rodeo run smoothly. On a more positive note, after two years of hard work, Summer obtained her professional Rodeo Cowboys Association, PRCA, card, making her PFD's first PRCA carded photographer.
Starting point is 00:00:36 It takes about two years to obtain a PRCA card, and the stringent list of requirements includes a letter of recommendation from an NFR member, submitting a portfolio of 20 photos for review, getting a PRCA permit, and shooting five more rodeos, then undergoing an evaluation inside an arena with livestock to ensure safety and understanding of working with livestock. Further evaluation is required by the board for the PRCA media department until the final determination is made. Summer has worked for jobs to afford the traveling expenses, hotel rooms, and other costs in pursuit of the PRCA card and recovering the photography equipment.
