Only the final total is rounded, never individual item prices, taxes, or fees. If the total ends in one to two cents round down,

3 to 4 cents round up, 6 to 7 cents round down, 8 to 9 cents or 5.5 cents round down. 8 to 9 cents round up. Zero or five cents no change. For example, $12.3 and $3 becomes $12.5. $7.7. The maximum difference on any transaction is just two cents. Does this affect card payments? No. Rounding applies only to cash transactions.
