As president of the Turquoise Circuit Finals rodeo, of which PFD is a member, Horkasitas wanted to recognize the wonderful people who created such an event, the rodeo committees. The Circuit Rodeo of the Year award is given to Rodeo Committees, that are recognized for excellence within their specific circuits by rodeo organizations like the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association and the Women's Professional Rodeo Association.
Starting point is 00:00:39 To capture the essence of what makes a rodeo successful, contestants, not boards or other management, were asked to vote by text message on their favorite rodeos. What makes this award remarkable is that the opinions of their spouses, kids, volunteers, and spectators make a difference in the outcome. Noting that winning an award of this magnitude is huge, Horkasitas was high. complementary of PFD's Rodeo Committee, stating it's great to see the excitement in the committee's eyes. They are already asking each other, what can we build on? What can we do to be better next year? PFD is the second largest prize money-producing rodeo in the Turquoise Circuit, one of top 50 rodeos in the
Starting point is 00:01:17 nation, and is recognized as one of the top 10 rodeos that spectators need to see in their lifetime. PFD is in the large rodeo category, with over $175,000 in prize money. Small category Rodeos bring in up to $75,000, medium rodeos bring in from $75,000 to $175,000. Horkasita's mentioned, PFD is considered the Rolex of rodeos, with so many moving parts. Look at the size of the crowds they attract, look at what it does for the city of Prescott as well as expanding the goodwill to the sponsors, who benefit from being mentioned.
