Salamanca Square turns underutilized school district land into a pathway to stability, creating homes, strengthening neighborhoods, and delivering real solutions where they're needed most. The development builds on Uman's proven model of leveraging low-income housing tax credit, Leich, partnerships to transform underutilized land or buildings into vibrant, family-centered communities. Similar to La Esperanza Terrace, Uman's 96-unit affordable housing community developed in partnership with the Isaac School District,
Starting point is 00:01:23 Salamanca Square reflects a scalable approach that benefits both residents and local schools by creating new revenue streams and stabilizing families within the district. Salamanca Square will feature thoughtfully designed apartment options ranging from one bedroom, one bathroom units to four bedroom, two bathroom units for larger families, along with connection to local community resources. With more than 900 units already in operation, and additional developments underway, Umon is scaling its impact to meet the increasing demand for safe, stable housing for families. Construction on Salamanca Square is slated to start this fall, with completion anticipated in 2027. Once complete, the community will provide nearly 200 families with a place to call home, advancing Uman's mission to make homelessness rare, brief, and non-recurring. This project has been made possible by the collaboration of many including Phoenix Ida, Alhambra School District, City of Phoenix, Arizona Department of Housing, Arizona Finance Authority, Raymond James, Bach Financial, Cedar Rapids Bank, and Trust, Uman New Day Centers, helping hands housing services, H&B builders, Perlman Architects of Arizona, and Lozar Law firm.
