The Prescott Police Department and Prescott Valley Police Department will participate in the statewide
click-it or ticket seatbelt enforcement campaign from May 19th through June 1st, 2025,
alongside law enforcement agencies across Arizona.
This high visibility campaign is part of a national effort to increase seatbelt usage and reduce
traffic injuries and fatalities.
Thanks to grant funding from the Arizona Governor's Office of Highway Safety, Police Traffic Safety
officers will conduct additional patrols throughout the city during the two-week campaign.
Officers will focus on identifying unrestrained drivers and passengers with the goal of saving lives,
not just issuing citations. Police also emphasize that the use of seatbelts remains one of the
most effective ways to prevent serious injury or death in a crash. When seatbelt uses and
prioritized, it can set a dangerous example for children who may grow up believing seatbelts
aren't necessary. Additionally, seatbelts and airbags are designed to work together. Airbags are
not a substitute for seatbelts. In 2023, seatbelts saved an estimated 14,000 lives nationwide,
but thousands more could be saved each year with consistent use. The campaign combines public
education, enforcement, and regulations to reinforce the message that buckling up is a simple,
life-saving act. The program also promotes proper use of child safety seats to protect young passengers.
The Click-It or Ticket campaign combines public education, strict enforcement, and safety regulations to help save lives.
Sponsored by the Arizona Governor's Office of Highway Safety, the program also enforces the proper use of child car seats to protect our youngest passengers.
The Click-It or Ticket High Visibility Enforcement serves as a reminder to always buckle up, said Prescott Valley Police Chief Bob Tyser.
Our officers want every driver and passenger to reduce the risk of serious injury, vehicle ejection, or death.
in the event of a collision on our roadways. Every citation issued could be a life saved. The Prescott
