The Prescott Valley Town Council has greenlit a Freedom Rock Memorial Project to honor military veterans. The project will feature a large boulder painted with patriotic and local military imagery,

A local community group, in partnership with the National Freedom Rock Foundation, is spearheading fundraising and planning. Town staff have been authorized to support the effort and donations from the community are being welcome to bring this tribute to veterans to fruition. This initiative not only honors those who served but also highlights the community spirit of Prescott Valley and rallying around a patriotic project. Kingman I-40 Interchange Project hits milestone.

The new I-40, U.S. 93 traffic interchange in East Kingman, Rancho Santa Fe Parkway, is now one-third complete and on track to open by mid-2026. The $44 million project, which began in late 2024, is a partnership between AdD and the city of Kingman to improve access to the city's airport and industrial park area. Cruise have already widened nearby I-40 bridges and are constructing detours to facilitate building the new overpass structures. Once finished, this interchange will provide a direct connection from I-40 to Kingman's Airport District, supporting economic growth and smoother travel. For now, drivers in the area are advised to be cautious around the construction

Captain CrossFit Jim and Prescott hosted the annual Hot Shots' 19 Memorial Workout and Fundraiser, a community fitness event honoring the 19 firefighters who lost their lives in the 2013 Yarnel Hill Fire. The commemorative workout featured competition heats, food and drinks, and family-friendly activities, blending fitness with remembrance and community spirit. A beloved cake shop has officially joined the Prescott Valley community. Nothing but cake celebrated its grand opening at 3088 North Glassford Hill Road with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a weekend of sweet festivities. Thursday, August 21st, kicked off with A. 3 p.m. ribbon cutting, where local leaders and cake lovers welcomed the bakery to town. Friday's Community Appreciation Day saw guests lining up early, starting 9 a.m., every visitor received a free confetti bundlet, personal-sized bunk cake, while supplies lasted, and 20% of all sales that day were donated to the Yavapai Humane Society. Saturday continued the

Looking ahead, residents can expect this pattern of afternoon thunderstorm chances to continue as the monsoon flow persists. So don't put away those umbrellas just yet.
