This high-visibili...ty enforcement effort is part of a nationwide initiative focused on increasing seat belt use and reducing traffic-related injuries and fatalities.With grant funding from the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, Prescott Police Traffic Safety Officers will conduct additional patrols throughout the city during the campaign period. Officers will focus on identifying unrestrained drivers and passengers, with an emphasis on education and voluntary compliance. The goal is not just enforcement but preventing serious injuries and saving lives.Seat belts remain one of the most effective safety features in any vehicle. Consistent use greatly reduces the risk of injury or death in a crash, yet some motorists still choose not to wear them.
