Watch program training. The Dog Walker Watch, DWW, program, developed by the National Association
of Town Watch, NATW, is a community-based crime awareness initiative that trains dog owners and walkers
to recognize and report suspicious behaviors. It has been adopted by law enforcement agencies across
the U.S., operates in over 2,000 communities, and now it'll launch here in Prescott Valley.
The DWW program is a simple, cost-effective way to increase neighborhood safety.
Train walkers act as extra eyes for police, and it encourages positive relationships between
residents and law enforcement, fostering trust and collaboration.
Those who wish to participate will receive a free one-hour training session.
Participants will learn about which behaviors to watch for, including people looking into vehicles or
mailboxes, unusual vehicle activity, and strange door-to-door behavior. The Dog Walker Watch
Training will be held on Thursday, June 5th, from 1230 to 1.30 p.m. at the Prescott Valley
Police Department in the training room. To register for the DWW training, please email Desiree
