Construction work is nearing its final stage on the State Route 69 improvement project between Prescott Lakes Parkway and Heather Heights and Prescott.
The project, which is being done in partnership with the Central Yavapai Metropolitan Planning Organization, is constructing one additional travel lane in each direction on SR 69 between Prescott Lakes Parkway and Yafpay Connector, mileposts 294 to 295, with a raised center median.
In addition, a raise center median is being constructed between Yovpay Connector and Heather Heights.
The $9.8 million construction project, which began in July 2024, is scheduled to be completed this fall.
Crews have completed several important project elements as it enters the final stage of construction, including
constructed one additional travel lane in each direction and new curb and gutter between Prescott Lakes Parkway and Yovpa Connector.
Installed new pipe culverts and storm drains between Prescott,
Lakes Parkway and Yovpay connector. Constructed raised center medians in a road island between Prescott
Lakes Parkway and Heather Heights, Milepost 296. Removed and installed a new traffic signal at Holiday Drive.
The following project elements are anticipated to be completed by the end of August, including
reconstruction of local business driveways, including those located at Home Depot and Swire Coca-Cola.
replacing the top layer of asphalt of the existing roadway between Prescott Lakes Parkway and Yovpay connector.
The final work to be completed by late October includes
installing new signage and various shoulder work.
Applying new pavement and final striping.
Installing decompose granite into center medians.
During this final phase of construction, two lanes of travel will be maintained in each direction during the day.
SR-69 will be reduced to one lane each direction.
during the overnight hours of 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. notices will be shared prior to upcoming road restrictions.
