According to Deputy Public Works Director Janet Ramsey, this was a major leak that caused
extensive damage to the road surface making it unsafe. The water traveled under the asphalt
causing sinkholes, some of which may not be visible until all the asphalt is removed,
said Ramsey. So even bikes and pedestrians should not go through the barricades. We have engaged
the contractor who will help make the repairs
including pipe and asphalt.
While we do not yet have a timeline,
we anticipate at least two to three weeks
for repairs to be completed.
Updates such as revised timelines
and new information will be released to the news media
and on the city's social media channels
including Facebook and Instagram.
